Grey

It's been a little grey around here, lately!
Windy, rainy, warm and then chilly!
When the rain stops, the birds and squirrel come out to dine!
The grey has made everything inside seem cozy and quiet.
And I don't mind, of course, ...it is my favorite color!
And it's going to get cold enough to snow!
Another favorite!

  5. I love the colour but I am tired of the neverending grey here. It is dark all day. Praying for a splash of sun soon. I have been thinking of buying a S.A.D. light to help. Although looking at Mr.-Upside-Down-Squirrel is making me smile!

    1. The Mister gets SAD....our doc said to take Vitamin D3 for it and it has really helped him!
We're supposed to get sun next week, so I bet you will too! In the meantime, we are sleeping late
with all this darkness....it's good for that, anyway! haha...

    2. I do take Vitamin D3 and I think it does make a difference. I have several friends who swear by the SAD lamp so I may buy one... or borrow theirs! Maybe I need a trip down south. :-)

  8. Wow! When the birds come out, they come out in droves. You must be the only diner in the neighborhood. Loved all your photos. Grey looks rather nice at your place. It's been grey here, too. We've had rain for two days, more flooding and there's still more to come. Hopefully, since the rain is not statewide, there won't be the problems we had back in November. Sure wish it would snow here. Can't wait to see what you get.

    1. I don't think we're supposed to get any accumulation, but I would love it!

Good to hear you aren't expecting the flooding like before....nobody wants to see that, I'm sure!

My little feeders must be the only ones in the neighborhood! Craziness out there! haha....

  9. It's been gray here too, now it's white and gray with a good dose of brown. :)
    Great photos!

  10. Wish I could share our sun with you today. Temps never got above 45F but there was sunshine. We do need a lot more gray and rain for the 4 year drought to be over but i do like the sunshine.
Saw the first woodpecker here in years but he flew away before I could get my camera going.
    Love your sparrow buffet too.

  11. Your photo's featuring gray are marvelous.

I do remember you loving gray! When you were doing some painting and redecorating. I like it too, but can't paint the walls in the apartment. I do have a gray and taupe couch and love seat, and a picture with grays above the couch. I remember all those years I was in property management.....basic color for every apartment...Kelly Moore Frost.

  12. Hi Betsy - we have some sun here ... and I love sitting in the window with it beaming in when I work. I'm not so keen on grey - but totally appreciate your understanding of the colour and how it works for you. It's been bucketing here in the UK, not here thankfully, but the weather extremes are 'interesting' ... wonderful seeing the birds and the branches with their dew drops ... (rain ones I know!) ...

Have a very happy New Year night tonight ... cheers and all the best for a great 2016 - Hilary

  13. Look at Cyril the squirrel who looks in a great shape! So good you will have snow! I love the white stuff :-) the rain, after having lived in Belgium which is not my homeland for what seems like forever now, I am not such a big fun of rain. I really appreciate blue skies :-) have a wonderful last day of this year Betsy! I would like to wish you and your dear ones an amazing New Year 2016!!!

  14. Once again, beautiful photography! I love the mix of neutral greys. And even the "highlights" are rather subdued. Isn't nature wonderful? All of that just laid out right before our eyes, if we only take the time to notice. And you do a great job of noticing. And sharing.

  16. I like the color grey, it's a calming color.
Looks like a little House Finch there, those are sweet little birds.
That squirrel is quite talented, I love to watch them, but oooh they can be so destructive when they choose :)
Hope you are enjoying your New Year's Day.

I can't believe we have a squirrel with all these cats. They do play chase!
I hope he's content to continue living in the neighbor's tree and only come here
      to eat seed.
