Yesterday was my brother's birthday. When they brought out the cake he started singing without them, all the way down to "Dear Timmy..."

  6. So? It's easily done.
I did silly things like that when I was at school. I once jumped into the pool before I realized I still had my shoes and socks on! The instructor wasn't best pleased with me, and I had to write out 200 times "I cannot walk on water like Jesus". (as far as I can remember).

    1. I supposed you squished as you walked for a few days. :)

    2. The pool was outdoors, and to approach it from the school one had to cross a pebbled area, so we had to keep our shoes on remove them at the waters edge. Can you imagine me, a spotty-face little urchin, wearing only a swimsuit (which had a big hole in the left elbow!) and a pair of hand-me-down shoes, marching with similarly clad classmates? Only about 7yrs at the time.

      Don't laugh, it wasn't funny!

  7. Ha! Well if that were the case, why not have him wear his swim trunks home as underwear. Unless, of course, he wore both into the pool. Double protection - it gets chilly! :-D

  10. Haha! I wonder what he thought about not wearing any underwear. At least he didn't throw a fit about it. I'll bet he won't forget to take them off the next time he goes swimming! :)

    1. Yeah, I don't know what he thought. I guess he understood that they were wet and he couldn't wear them.
And since he went all evening like that, he must have thought it was totally cool. He would have brought me a pair to put on
when he got home if it bothered him. lol....

  13. Funny ... did Alex keep his underpants on purpose or did he forget to take it off? If it was a voluntary decision then I think he must have had a good reason for it! :-)

    1. I'm sure he didn't realize there weren't any dry ones in his bag to put on later. I'll have to send some
in so there are extra next time. He wouldn't think through anything like that anyway...and whatever
aide helped him dress/undress didn't either! haha...

  14. Well that doesn't sound very serious does it? I hope the boys enjoyed their swim
And do you know?,some amazing person send me a huge parcel? I haven't had time to open it yet because I was so tired yesterday. We went to interview the undertaker -a very nice man - and have booked the funeral for 3 December. But what a treat in store. Although Imhad hoped to unpack the parcel in daylight... And so far it doesn't look as though we will get any today. Terribly gloomy. And we had sleet yesterday. It's winter! X

    1. No, not serious at all.....no harm done....

Hey, glad your box arrived. I DO hope it all is safe and sound in there!

Glad you have some plans made and Dec. 3rd as a date. This seems to be all on your shoulders so I'm
guessing there aren't any other family/parents there to help?

Sleet? Ugh....as least it could be beautiful snow! Sending sunshine your way!

    2. Yes there's no other family but me.
Well, ex-wife, cousins, friends from school. But basically it's me.
I was v surprised to see sleet this early in the year. It' seen so mild until now.
Your parcel arrived in perfect condition. The rosemary and ... Erm .. I can't remenber what (downstairs) kettle chips look really tasty....

    3. Apologies... I thought I'd better publish before I got chucked out!
Have you and the Mr got funeral plans and stuff in place? I mean - in case you fall under a bus (obviously perish the thought) but me and my ex-sister-in-law have had loads of problems because my brother left no will, no funeral instructions... Nothing. I expect you are much better organised.

I feel the need to throw my iPad out the window.

    6. Oh, we have a will but it is terribly outdated...done many years ago. It's on a To Do List and really needs to be done.
It's more complicated since the boys aren't self sufficient. I seem to think it's more of an importance that The Mister does...which is why it hasn't moved up to the top of the list. (grrr).

  15. So sweet! I think that every time we go kayaking..."I'm not going to get wet". I have sat through many a picnic with wet underwear!
