This is what Garden Girl looks like from the side of the
house. The roof line is where my little three windowed
nook is in the kitchen for my desk. She's been beautiful to
look at with the leaves swirling around her!
You can see the red and golden crab apples are
really showing off now that the leaves are falling!
I sure am enjoying this beautiful fall!
♥
How perfect! She looks so at home in her surroundings and swirlings.
ReplyDeleteI had no intention on bidding on her at auction but when she was going for just a little bit, I
Deletestarted bidding. So glad I did...I've enjoyed her every day since....just one of those very few things
you know you'll never tire of...
Are your leaves swirling there?
They are indeed. A lot came down in our recent storm.
DeleteShe was obviously meant to be yours. I still remember the story of her being heaved and hauled home... and then having to be grounded slightly when she was settling. Now she looks like she's always been there!
Yeah, she fell over once during a flooding storm. Can't believe she didn't break. She has a good foundation under her now!
DeleteShe's got the perfect spot! How was the weather today for your auction?
ReplyDeleteMarla
It was quite chilly, damp and grey! Brr. But at least it didn't rain and it wasn't windy..
DeleteVery true. You should've seen me . . . I lost my debit card for awhile and was making the leaves swirl on their own just running in and out of stores trying to find it! LOL!
DeleteOh no! So glad you found it! Funny now, but not at the time!
DeleteIt sure is beautiful!! Would you say that it has peeked in your area?
ReplyDeleteAlmost forgot....Happy Cat's Day to your kitty family!
DeleteYes, I would say the season peaked last week...then we had wind and rain....the very best sure doesn't last very long!
DeleteVery colourful and garden girls looks great there . . .
ReplyDeleteNice and Autumnal here too . . . :)
Well, we need to see some pictures, don't you think?
DeleteShe sure shows her stuff
ReplyDeleteAs the leaves fall and not white fluff
Let the fall last and last
Colorful is way more fun than a snow blast
Even I can enjoy the fall of leaves
Deletebut soon there will be a colder breeze
as snow flakes start to be seen
even though you think they're mean.
She's perfect under the swirling and gorgeous trees.
ReplyDeleteTrees are barely turning here. but we do have a warm sunny day. No rain in sight...(:0(
Not sure what happened to my picture profile and I am having to sign in all over again...
DeleteBlogger must be taking a nap...haha.....wish we could send some rain your way. It's amazing how much we get
Deleteand other states are desperate for it.
Once again let me say how much I enjoy "garden girl." I like those kinds of statues in a garden, or along a pathway. Just makes for a nice surprise when I walk up on it. And your trees are beautiful... I may have to go find me a couple of crabapple trees for my little orchard. And maybe a statue, too, while I'm at it!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm happy to hear you enjoy and appreciate her! Did I tell you that we figured out she's a fountain? The water would come out of the gargoyle's mouth! Too bad we couldn't hook her up like that...but there isn't even a spigot on that side of the house.
DeleteYour garden girl is so classy out there, no matter what the weather!
ReplyDeleteIt's been rainy and windy here too, knocking down most of the leaves.
She's been here through all the seasons already...hard to believe! ...and she
Deletedoes them all with a smile on her face...haha....
She is a beauty!
ReplyDeleteIsn't she? :)
DeleteYou are rocking fall! Our leaves are gone sadly with the crazy winds.
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween!
Jane x
Well, you do live in the 'windy city'. ha.
DeleteI love the color of the trees!
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween!
Beautiful. We too are blessed with gorgeous Autumn this year. I am soaking myself in it. And pasta here for lunch today :-) happy Halloween day! See you in November ;-)
ReplyDeleteI am still convinced that Garden Girl is Aphrodite with her lion, Hippomenes. For proof go to http://www.dcmemorials.com/index_indiv0006555.htm The Philadelphia Museum of Art, and look at the Pediment above the main entrance, then look up her story on Wikipedia.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of the crab apple tree.
What happened to the first line of my comment? I didn't do that!
DeleteLaughing here....looks like you're talking realllllllly slowlllllly. hahaha....
DeleteAnd you may be right about Aphrodite.....I can see the resemblance!
DeleteThe colours really are spectacular this year, here too. The apples look like Christmas baubles! I wonder if they will stay on until then?
ReplyDeleteEverybody needs a "Spot". Yours is lovely!
