A Black Vintage Chair

...that's what I wanted to have sitting by my desk in the kitchen.
Something old and worn...something I could put a pretty
pillow on and a napping cat would complete the picture.

Well, I found the perfect chair at the auction last week...
and it had only been in the house a few minutes when
Star jumped up and claimed it for her own.

It's exactly like I envisioned it!
Perfect!

It's also been 4 months since Star came to us.
Still improving all the time!

    1. Natches...well, there's another British word I didn't know. Yes, she loves it and naps in it every day
when I'm sitting at my desk. Perfect! She's looking good...her coat is the most noticeable improvement
this month. And she talks more. ha.

  4. She's such a sweet little thing. So touching that she came from such hardship and appreciates her new lot in life so much. Love her expression of confidence in the photo. Lynne in NC

    1. She really is sweet...she's a quiet thing and those soulful eyes...aw..she's been through so much. But she's appreciative...and has become very affectionate, which is so touching. She's become more adventurous, too...and roams outside a little, naps on the patio furniture and then lets herself in through the flap.

Today I called the vet who cared for her those 10 days before I got her just to see what her weight was before she came to me. They didn't have a weight in their records. I was shocked....seems like it would have been one of the first things they would have done. I was curious as to how much she's gained in the last four months. She's still a light weight but was literally near death when they got her. I'm guessing only 2 pounds or so....just bones. This isn't the vet I use..I used to but never cared for them. But I guess the good news is that she's putting on weight every week here and is really looking good. I think she practically has a completely new coat. So fun to see her blossom...

    1. She certainly claimed it as her own
and how could she know that was what I wanted in my home? :)

    1. Everything just goes together in that photo, doesn't it? I thought the same thing...black and some red...lovely fall photo. And how fun
that she jumped right up there just like I had pictured in my mind... (it also keeps her off my keyboard! hahaha)

  15. When I slid through here a day ago I didn't even see Star. She knows that she looks so great on her new chair. Comes with a neat pillow. I really like the chair. I haven't decided where to put my chair. I may make it into a plant stand with a large potted plant.

    1. haha...well, she IS little. :) Can't wait to see where your chair ends up....or which ones you let go of! The plant idea is cool!

  18. Star looks like you got the chair for her, she is regal and a big star in my book..Our Mr. Miyagi who is black and teeny tiny heart on his belly is still trying to go our all the time, it is warm still here..Our other cat Miss Cody is dying she only takes water now and I hold her all the time. she sleeps about 18 hours and I life her gently for potty duty, she is near the end, I cannot bring myself to take her to the vets office, so I had her drop by she said she is comfy and okay, but failing fast..My heart breaks a little even though we have had her for many years..Cats esp. people get very used to at least that is they way I feel..Keep smiling and enjoying your new chair and your Star of a kitteh cat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. I'm so sorry about your Miss Cody. Big hugs...that is so hard. Our Teddy died at home years ago. I took it so hard. We had him 16 years. It's good to know your Miss is comfy and will peacefully go...she knows she is loved...and that's the most important thing!
