I planted these flowers in a big pot on the front
porch this afternoon. We're still tweaking the
look of the front after the landscaping got a major
overhaul last month! Almost finished!
1 is Coreopsis
2 and 3 is Lantana
4 & 5 is Yarrow
And a hilarious story to go along with this....
I have on a low cut V-neck shirt today.
Nothing inappropriate, but it kept slipping a little
too low while I was bent over working on the flowers.
At one point I stood up and straighten my shirt
just as I heard in the unmistakable voice of
Mr. Neighbor Man...."You sure are looking good in that!"
Um....what on earth!? I looked around to see The Mister
had just pulled up the driveway. He got a new
car last week.....and the neighbor guy was calling
over to admire it. Oh! Whew! Geesh!
♥
hahahaha neighbor guy
ReplyDeleteWas out to spy
Just not on you
At least as far as you knew
Him and his tightey whities could ave got a thrill
As you set up your flowers and fill
#1
DeleteWhat fun
And #2
Yippee for my zoo
I'm sure daggers could have shot through my eyes
Deletebut as it ended up, it wasn't time for his demise.
He didn't even know I was there
as I was up on the porch, unaware.
But his line fit the moment more than he will ever know
and the mister and I had a good laugh about my almost peep show.
lol....
HaHaHa....likely story...he was probably getting a good look at you, and then the Mister drove up..... I was really thinking one of your cats jumped in your shirt while you were bent over....I love a funny story...Life needs humor. So thanks.
ReplyDeleteNo, he really couldn't see me...I was around a corner, which is why his voice surprised me so much! :)
DeleteWhat made me think a cat jumped in your shirt...I was remembering a story my mother told me. When she was a teenager working in the fields in Oklahoma with her brothers, they tossed a hand full of field mice down her shirt....she said she surely did a strip dance in the middle of the cotton field. (Hadn't thought of that story in years.)
DeleteOh, that is too funny! I bet those boys thought that was the funniest thing ever. lol....
DeleteI probably would have been ok with field mice. If they had been spiders, I would have died of a heart attack. ha.
Those boys got into a lot of trouble.....But my Grandpa did have to laugh at the dance...HaHa
DeleteSuch a fun story to tell, though...hilarious..those boys!
DeleteBeautiful colors of all of the flowers. i bet you would look good if you would go sit in the car too.
ReplyDeletelol....thanks, Larry. haha....
DeleteOops!
ReplyDeleteI do love lantana - which doesn't really grow here of course - you never know what colour you're going to get next do,you?
lantana is new to me! I did see that it comes in a variety of colors. It looks like pink and yellow now. Is it going to change on me?
DeleteAbsolutely not an expert. But I've seen it in Cyprus and it seems to come in many colours often all on the same bush.
DeleteWell, that is very interesting.....I'll have to see what happens to mine! Maybe it will surprise me one day with something different!
Deletenope!
ReplyDeleteI meant of the car!
ReplyDeletelol...
ReplyDeleteDo you have Infiniti over there? It's a G37.
I haven't taken a picture of it! Will have to do that. It's black...very nice.
ReplyDeleteToo funny. Did you blush in spite of yourself?
ReplyDeleteI would have.
:0)
Yes, a little...but it would have been much worse if I turned around and he was talking to me! haha....
DeleteI would expect you blush if that happened.
DeleteOooh, I love those close-ups! #4-The yarrow is my favorite. Lantana is a perennial around here. The most popular is the yellow. I have a lavender one at home. I think the pink and creamy yellow stay that color. And if I remember correctly, they don't get as big and spread as much as the solid yellow. It's a great plant.....heat and drought tolerate.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, Mr. Neighbor Man......GROSS!
DeleteOur front yard gets full sun and it's hard to keep flowers alive on that side of the house! I picked the flowers that said they loved heat and sun...lol...Hopefully I can keep them alive out there. Glad to hear the lantana stays that pink and yellow...I just loved that combination...everything in the pot was pink or yellow...a nice change from my blue garden!
DeleteAaah! Such pretty flowers!
ReplyDeleteLove the funny too. :)
I'm loving the flowers....all new to me!
DeleteLaughing at these comments!!
ReplyDeleteFunny....
Yes . . lol . . . . so funny . . . :)
ReplyDeleteI thought so. :)

ReplyDeleteYour flowers are so beautiful and those pictures are fantastic. I loved that funny story, too.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend... :)
Flowers are so nice to photograph....no moving, no frowning...just pure cooperation.
DeleteThere isn't even any red eye to deal with! haha... thanks, dee...
The story is hilarious...the comments are too! Lantana is my favorite flower!
ReplyDeleteI'm still chuckling at it....what are the odds that all of that would have come together perfectly...so funny!
DeleteI can see why lantana is your favorite....I've never seen it before and had to have some!
I was actually amazed at the garden center...tons of new things they didn't have in the spring...I wanted
quite a few of them!
HAAA! Laughed out loud. That is too funny. I was thinking maybe a cat dove in!
ReplyDeleteThe coreopsis is so pretty - they all are. And, you know what? I think all of them have an element of snowflake shapes. Very intricate.
I can't wait until that coreopsis opens completely....it's going to be beautiful!
DeleteGood thing you looked around before replying!
ReplyDeleteha...yes, good thing!
DeleteFunny "Ha-ha", or funny "Yeuk" ?
