We had a feeder on a window, and we found that if we opened the window next to it and put bird feed in our hands, the nuthatch's and chickadees would come and eat from our hands. Our kids did it quite often - very cool!
Oh how sweet. I did get to hold a bird in my hands when we lived in Sunland. The back door was open and a little sparrow flew in and tried to fly out the front window, got behind the drape and was scared. I reached up and he let me cup him in my hands....I took him outside and open my hands and he few off. I remember how soft he was in my hands. A good memory.
Fantastic ~ loved that . . . I think I mentioned once I wild skinny bird once took food off the back of my hand . . . it was so hungry . . . but this little fella must think the owner of those hands is his mummy . . . :)
You got me with this one. From reading your title, I thought it was about a cement bird bath or something like it. And then I saw the sweetest little 'bird's bath'. Lol! Soooo cute!! What? You don't have a bucket list? Mine is a mile long. Lol! And I keep adding to it. I'll never get it all done. Lol!
oh I love this!
ReplyDeleteMe, too! :)
DeleteOne happy little bird indeed
ReplyDeleteYou'd have quite the feline audience doing that at your feed lol
They would think I was making dinner
Deleteand that they were going to be the winners! ha.
I've had birds eat out of my hands, but that would be even better!
ReplyDeleteAw, lucky you! I haven't done that but it sure looks fun!
