- The boys brought me daffodils today. :)
- A yummy warm weather meal that came from cleaning out the fridge. Quinoa with Tyson Grilled Chicken Strips, frozen peas, chopped onions, cucumbers and sweet peppers with vinaigrette.
- Isn't this a sweet photo of Peaches? He hasn't come around in 4 days...maybe tonight....
- Mr. and Mrs. House Sparrow stuffing their beaks with sunflower seeds.
- Slate....always entertaining!
♥
Oh, that handsome Slate! I would be glad to send him a first class ticket befitting his status. Poor Peaches. I've been wondering about him. I do hope he comes around during the week when the vet would be available. Wonder if he is venturing further away with the warmer weather. Lynne in NC
ReplyDeleteI was hopeful with Peaches coming one morning last week but he disappears for days at a time! Nothing I can do about that...I'll just have to wait on him!
DeleteSlate does love his boxes! Can you imagine him on a jet? He would charm everyone on board. Everyone is a friend with him! Sweet thing. :)
Love the daffodils! Those are the best kind.

Peaches looks happy out there on the porch. That's got to be worth something.
And that Slate, he is a charmer.
Had to laugh at that daffodil that looks like it exploded. Wonder what happened there. :)
DeleteHow was your test today? I'll come over and see if you posted.....
I'm working on a post as we speak.
DeleteOh....me too!
DeleteI was l=kind of loving that wild daffodil.
Delete:0)
Unique and creative, right? haha.
DeleteQuinoa? never heard of it. I don't think I would fancy it, it looks too much like frog spawn! Peaches looks a lot better these days, I don't think there can be anything seriously wrong with him/her. Dinky is still not speaking to me, still avoiding me; all because I let Henry stay for a while. Females, huh!
ReplyDeleteQuinoa is a grain...tastes very much like rice. :)
DeleteThat photo of Peaches is very deceiving. He really is sick but looks so much better with his eyes closed! And he sounds sick...
Poor Dinky. She'll get over it in time...all of mine have when a new one joins the family.
Daffodils. Let me guess.
DeleteLeft: Harry, Middle: Spencer, Right: Alex ?
haha...well, that would be birth order, but the paintings came home without names so I have no idea!
DeleteThose Daffodils need to be framed! Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThat salad looks very delicious....great job on cleaning out the fridge....
Awwwww....Peaches....hope he comes tonight♥️
Lovely bird shots....
Cheers!
Linda :o)
The salad was a hit....and requested that is become a regular item on the menu! I think it will be a nice easy summer meal!
DeleteOh....for sure!
DeleteBeautiful meal . . . . yum
ReplyDeletePeaches looks safe and secure . . . hope he comes round more often.
How does he get on with the other cats . . . do they somehow sense he is injured/weak/below par?
Your house sparrows look like ours . . .but we had a big loss of them a few years ago and their population has never recovered after their disease hit them.
Slate . . . how funny . . . he is a character . . . very dignified and stately . . . :)
The other cats do know he's sick! They don't bother him or try to take his food. I think they are a lot smarter than we give them credit for!
DeleteAgree ~ they are very aware and intelligent ~ maybe I should aska passing cat to solve my crossword clue !!! . . . . lol . . . :)
DeleteI bet you were most touched to get the daffs from the boys ~ can they remember who painted which ~ probably not , , ,
If you had had a fourth baby what would you have called him/her , , , lol . . . :)
I did have a fourth...and named him Alexander James. Lol....
DeleteAlexander James ?? ~ am I being a thicko?
DeleteAh! I see . . . . so Taylor, Harry, Spencer and Alex(ander James) . . . very clever!
You thought you'd got me there but you'd have to get up a little earlier in the morning for that . . . . rofl.
Hope you are enjoying your day . . . :)
Did you forget I already had a fourth? :)
Deleteno . . . what I meant originally was If you had had quads instead of triplets I wonder what you might have called him/her (the fifth
Delete) . . lol
Those are some sweet daffodils.
ReplyDeleteAren't they? Made me smile. :)
DeleteWhat beautiful daffodils !
ReplyDeleteLeft-overs look tasty, although I've never eaten Quinoa either...lol
Slate looks sweet.
Yes, Peaches looks better with his eyes closed. He's probably missing because it's spring breeding season, and he's doing what Tom Cats do best :)
Hugs,
~Jo
Yes, maybe he's off chasing the ladies...but he sure doesn't look like he feels well enough to do that.
Deletequinoa is a lot like cous cous, if you've ever had that.
Awww - love all these and they have made me smile brightly! Peaches does look a bit better - more hydrated, maybe? But I know he still needs a vet's attention.
ReplyDeleteThose birdies look chubby and cheerful!
Love your sweet daffodils - what a brilliant yellow. I agree that they would look great framed. I have to remember to look in my little daffodil spot soon to see if they are blossoming yet.
I love quinoa and have had it at restaurants, but never made it. I think you would like it, Keith.
Laughing out loud at Slate! Maybe when he has left Lynne's he can come up here for a visit. The Slate Tour! lol
I think Peaches got caught in that hard rain storm we had and it cleaned him off and made him more fluffy! ha. Yes, and he's had some good meals, kitten milk and looks more hydrated. He's still very congested and has weepy eyes and nose...very yucky if he hasn't just washed his face. I took a picture but it's so awful I didn't post it...needs a viewer warning on it. lol....
DeleteSlate could have a tour! haha.....I should book stops for him. :)
Peaches looks a bit better now
ReplyDeleteBet Slate would just wow
But then again Orlin was not a happy camper at all
When he got off the plane and taken to my hall
Could meow up a storm
Deleteand sound so forlorn.
Like a trip to the vet
but worse, I bet.
Well at least he didn't do #1 or 2 on the plane
DeleteHe does both when off to the vet lane
I have never had a cat do that!
DeleteAll 22 I've ever taken to the vet.
Orlin plays dirty
stinking up the journey!
ha.
I love the daffodils! They're better than the real thing - they last!
ReplyDeletePoor Peaches. I hope he decides to trust you soon.
That's right....no fading! :)
DeleteI know those daffodils warmed your heart! And of course, that one in the middle was "puffed" into the wind....
ReplyDeleteYour daffodils are probably long gone! Where have you been? Do you have your garden all planted?
DeleteYep, my daffodils have long ago departed this world for this year..... Iris' are blooming now.... (sending more in a private message)
DeletePretty daffodils for a pretty Mama..bet those boys were smiling!
ReplyDeleteThe quinoa dish looks beautiful and yummy. I just made that avocado dip again..can't get enough:)
Great photos!
I bought more avocados yesterday and left two on the counter to ripen quickly, so hopefully I'll have some by tomorrow!
DeleteQuinoa is one of my favs. Yours looks good. I usually add chopped cucumbers and tomatoes to mine and toss with vinaigrette. Sometimes I make a Buddha Bowl out of it. Love your daffodils. 100% frame worthy.
ReplyDeleteI need to look up what a Buddah Bowl is.....just so it doesn't make my belly look like his! Lol....
DeleteLol! Hopefully not. Basically you use quinoa or rice as the base and then add as many chopped veggies as you like. I also add black beans and avocado. To this you can add vinaigrette, if you like. I don't add it to my Buddha bowls. Just a personal preference. I will add cilantro and lime juice sometimes, though. It's a complete meal in a bowl and the only thing you have to cook is the rice or quinoa. It's yummy. Let me know, if you try it.
DeleteThat sounds delicious....and I have black beans and avocado right now...I'll certainly try it...I love dishes like that!
DeleteSo much to identify with..the salad. I have been buying a pre-made salad with cous cous lately...the kind you can pick up and devour when you are putting the food away. It's so good. Not liking the vinaigrette so much. Suggestions?
ReplyDeleteThe house sparrows. They were devouring my bird feeder in an hour everyday last summer so I took it down. They are so greedy and they drove all the other types of birds away. What to do?
Jane xxx
Try my vinaigrette...it's very mild and sweet. You won't need the whole amount so use the rest on a green salad...very tasty!
Delete1/2 c sugar
1/2 c cider vinegar
1/2 c canola oil
1 t salt
2 t dried parsley
1/2 t dry mustard
1/2 t basil or italian seasoning
Whisk all together. Use after sugar dissolves into the dressing.
As for the birds....buy black oil sunflower seeds. There isn't any waste and the birds eat it more slowly since they have to open up seach seed. I only have to fill my feeders once a week even though the traffic is heavy.
A wonderful series of shots!
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary! It was fun to put together. :)
DeleteLove the daffs! Lucky you...I'd frame that one! Love the guinoa dish..I need to make that one.
ReplyDeleteI think we'll be having that dish again soon....a big batch so I wouldn't have to cook for a few days! ha.
DeleteI love how see these foods and know exactly what flavors make them so yummy. :)
ReplyDeleteYum....I love the meal-in-a-bowl dishes....so easy!
DeleteHi Betsy - love the drawings ... and then your concoction looks very good ... and Peaches - hope he returns ... then Slate .. please could you tell him it's not so good being packed up and thrown around however much he wants to see Lynn and her beautiful cats .. cheers Hilary
ReplyDeletehaha...well, Lynne doesn't have any cats but she and Slate have a long distance affair going, I think! :)
DeletePeaches is looking healthier after all your care, even though he keeps his distance. Love the daffodils too, I'm sure they will cheer up your little desk corner for a long time to come.
ReplyDeleteThey are pretty cheery, aren't they? :)
