A Little Bit Irish

It was time to take down the Valentine touches on my foyer table
and move on to the upcoming holiday.  And since I am a little bit
Irish, this one was fun to do!  I bought my annual Shamrock,
this time in purple, and the rest of the things I gathered
from around the house.  And, of course, it's always fun
to write something new on the chalkboard!

  2. It's so pretty Betsy. I love the little bird sitting on the pinecones and the scales. I, also, like that the border of your chalkboard is cork so you can pin things on it. Too Cool!

  5. I'm always amazed at the effort you put into seasonal changes to your house. Last year the reluctant taste testers and I tried shamrock flavour crisps! St Patrick's Day looms so do you think you can find any of these in the USA?

    1. I only do this one little table by the front door....nothing else around the house! That would be way too much! ha.

haha...oh those crisps! I did a quick search for any Shamrock flavored potato chips here in the states and didn't see any. Lucky you. So, what do they taste like?

I think we felt these crisps tasted a little bit of that deep-fried seaweed stuff you get in Chinese restaurants. Not as exciting as you'd hope.

    1. Many moons ago I brought a tiny bit of shamrock root back from Galway, now I cant get rid of the stuff. It's everywhere, in the herb garden, the lawn, between the slabs, and even growing out of the drain! It seeds so easily, I must have the same soil as in Ireland!

  8. Such a lovely and inviting foyer vignette. My nephew's wife always has unique and pretty messages on her chalkboard, too. Wish I were artistic or could at least write where folks could read it!!! The shamrock is really pretty and I love the vintage cards. Wishing you and your family a nice evening.

  20. I only just noticed that your shamrock is a strange colour, purple? I've never seen one that colour before. Is it what is called a "sport", a self-genetically modified one? The ones I have are a beautiful emerald green with yellow flowers.

  21. Looks good! My sister-in-law recently gave me a start of her purple shamrock. Didn't know I could look forward to such pretty blooms!
