    2. Phew. We don't want to have an anxious chocolate connoisseur. Hee hee.

    3. Nope...no spicy chocolates for him! ha.

    4. He ate so many 'relaxing' truffles this weekend, he should be in a coma by now! ha.

  2. Could that cardinal be any brighter? And did you know that purple irises are some of my favourite flowers. Just love them.

    1. Believe it or not, I toned down his red! The sun was shining on him and he looked fake! haha. He sure is a beauty...I enjoy him every day!

    2. Really? Wow. Can't believe he is even brighter than that. You will need to don sunglasses to look at him!

    3. It must have been the sun and the way my camera captured it....almost neon and way too much! haha.

  3. What a lovely weekend. I love the colors of each photo. I had to laugh when I saw your comment that you had to tone down Mr. Cardinal. HaHa. He is really a show off.
Everything you do is with such flair ....I learn so much from you.
Your delicate iris makes me think even in your cold weather...Spring is around the corner.
I believe it's Shadow that reminds me of an Owl in that picture with those eyes.....

    1. Pretty irises.....a little bouquet from the mister...they hadn't opened up yet so I got to watch them unfold. Very pretty!

    2. With your cats you remind me of the famous lady here from St Ives ~ do you know the little poem and puzzle? . . . :)

      Delete
    3. yes,..knew that as a child, but haven't thought of that little poem in ages!

    1. If you like chocolate, you must try a truffle!!!

    2. In the Mother Country we put a splash of brandy (well, I put in several splashes) in them and call them "Brandy Balls". Truffles grow underground in the woods and cost £150 ($230,00) a kilo (2lb 3oz).

      Delete
    3. yes, funny we call them truffles, isn't it? I think I heard once that with the cocoa on the outside looking like dirt, they were supposed to resemble the fungus variety.

    4. I bought two small truffles (real ones) for £8 once. I washed and sliced them very thinly and mixed them into an omelette. The taste was out of this world! But they are too expensive to repeat that experience!

      Delete
    5. Well, I hope you didn't have to share! So, what do they taste like?

  7. So...what's in those cute little boxes?
I have my guess but go ahead and tell us.

Have a great rest of your weekend.

    1. I'm sure you didn't guess 4 pairs of cufflinks for the mister, did you!! haha....He does love his French Cuff shirts, so he got new shirts and cuff links to go with his truffles. :)

      Delete
    2. Nope. Not my guess but I do remember that he does like his French cuffs and GOOD chocolate.

      Delete
    3. he's really enjoying those truffles, too....can't stay out of the box. ha.

      Delete
    4. Speaking of cufflinks... we have a baggie full of cufflinks from Don's brother Bob we cared for years ago. Don doesn't ware them so they just sit in the drawer... I think they might be vintage.. some have stones. Should probably find out about them.

    5. Sounds like a fun little project!

  8. Picture No 2: "Betsy, BETSY, you do know the bird feeder is empty don't you?"
Picture No 4: "OK, this is a hold up, Hand over the the tuna NOW, or else"
Picture No 9: "Oh good grief! That nasty white stuff is all over the place, again!"

Now a box of those candies would be a nice RAK to send to a poor old man on his last legs, broke and fed up, who doesn't know where his next bottle of whisky is coming from. . . . . . . . . .just saying.

You would want milk chocolate truffles, though, right? Maybe with a little booze in them?

    2. That's absolutely wizard of you, old bean, to want me to write your posts. That's the quickest way to lose all your followers, don'tcha know?

  19. You are so organized. and your shots are beautiful Wish my camera would take shots like that. I was looking at your two cats and missed the black one crouching there lol My black pup is also hard to see. The bird is gorgeous. I have bunnies in my yard. Hope to catch some of them one of these days. When I had cats they would eat the bunnies.:(
