Winter Foyer Table

We woke up to 4-5 inches of snow this morning.
It was the perfect day to think of a little winter decor to
replace the Christmas stuff.
Too cold to venture outside even to fill the bird feeders!
Hope they didn't mind that I opted to toss seed from the window.

  1. Hi Betsy!
Love that wee Pine Cone guy with the skis and top hat!
How cool that you had the letters in those brooches to spell out the Season!
Drew looks pretty nipply out there!
We are expecting a -14*c for tomorrows high...
    Brrrrr...
    enjoy your evening
    Cheers!

    2. That little pine cone guy was on the Christmas tree the year I was born! He's ancient! haha.

Easy on the cook night....great minds!

    3. Now that you mention it, I remember pine cone guys on our tree when I was a little girl.

    4. Really? How cute. I've thought of trying to make new ones before but haven't done it.

    5. Oh...... I think you should make some!
They would sell like crazy in your shop....

  2. I think my body is in shock at the temperature change these past couple of days. No snow here. Yet. Maybe tomorrow.
I'm brainstorming ways to decorate some little corner for the seasons. Maybe, if I put the pink chair back by the wood stove, I could find a little table fot the Grinch Corner.
Chicken soup here, again. A different variety from last night.

    1. A little table...and a chalkboard! Perfect!

I think the temp change is something like 50 degrees!

    2. What a fun project! I know it will look great!

  3. Your little bird is neat. Your post reminds me that I should go out and take some outdoor shots. I was bundled up for doing the sidewalks so I could rebundle to get some shots. I like your arrangements and this one is great too.

    1. thanks, Larry....you're braver than me...I just take them through the window! haha. But I will need to go out tomorrow and fill the feeders. Putting it on the ground makes it easier for a cat to catch a bird trying to eat!

  4. beggars can't be chooses my Mum would say, they will find the seed, Betsy the creation wit the broaches ( sp ??? ) , did you collect them? Its lovely, do you mind me asking, Do the boys like chocolate, are they picky, I think they are but was just wondering, I have noticed from our Gracie that Autism and picky eaters seems to come hand in hand, what do your boys like to eat may i ask?

    1. They did find the seed...but are very leary of eating from the ground. They know the cats are lurking!

Brooches....yes, I collected them...then I had to find the rest of the letters I needed on ebay to make the word.

None of the boys like chocolate, no. They are not sweet eaters except for Tootsie Pops. Alex doesn't like them but he will eat an occasional sugar cookie or graham cracker. They are picky but don't like the same things across the board. Each is different.
They all like fruits and veggies and yogurt. Spencer likes ham, hot dogs, peanut butter and cheese. Harry is vegetarian (his choice). Alex eats just about anything we do, except for a salad. Spencer and Harry are gluten free. Alex loves his gluten, but I might try to wean him off of it this year. They all love potato chips to a point where it is an obsession like a drug. We have to hide them and ration them out. Crazy. Got all that? hahaha...I'm a short order cook for each meal!

    2. I would say you are a short order cook, Gracie loves cheese, crackers, pepperoni, pizza, well, she loves junk, lol, she will eat peas and beans, raw carrots as long as there is dip, and she loves chocolate! But she will only eat certain things and she changes after a few weeks, its hard to keep up to her, loll, its very difficult, but she is a little chubby and we fear its the cheese, she is obsessed with it!

      Delete
    3. Several years ago Spencer was quite chubby and he was eating 2 lbs of American cheese every day! I stopped buying it and he slimmed down very quickly! haha.

    4. 2lbs!!! wowsa, he likes cheese!

    1. Yeah, I use it all the time. Got in in 2013, so the newness has worn off by now.

  8. These last few weeks just before I go to bed I have been putting all of my 'dinner plate left overs', and Dinky's too, with some extra cat food outside every night for the feral cats. Every morning the dish has been licked clean. Last night I was woken by a noise outside. I pulled back the curtain and switched the security light on, and standing in the glare was a big fox! So it wasn't the cats after all. Then he was gone before I could get my camera.

Lovely pictures of the foyer table, but I do miss the pink wellies!

    1. Oh my goodness! Nothing like luring a fox to your door every night! hahaha....No wonder the ferals have stopped coming by! Oh dear!

Next picture those wellies will come back just for you...but they are red. Yes, Pink Cloud has red wellies. haha.

    1. Trolls...haha...you crack me up. Are they magic ones or just those dolls with neon colored hair that we played with as kids?

    2. Oh, what a shame, I'm lucky here, because the Queen of the Fairies lives at the bottom of my garden, and trolls are banned by Royal Degree!

  10. Cold indeed
    At every feed
    but oh well
Only a few months left where we dwell
    Not ton of snow though
    That works for my show
    The snowflakes drawings are fine
And that's one bird that won't get eaten by a feline
    Maybe knocked over though
Bet the cats were happy the bird seed was low also haha

    1. Only a few months of winter there
or a few months left of a lease, if you dare?
Sounds like a change is afloat
Hope you don't go live with a goat.
      haha.

    2. haha few months of winter left here
Lease is month to month I fear
So can leave whenever I like
Of course you need $$ to take a hike

    3. Don't look for the end of winter just yet.
It has just started and is getting set!
Much more lovely white fluff to come
to freeze off your skinny little bum.
      ha.

  11. I love your snowflake pin collection and the little birdie. We had six inches of snow here with the bitter temperatures too.
Hey I started my blog anew. Hopefully I can keep up with it this time.

  12. Laughing at the Gargoyle - he has a snowhawk! And Garden Girl is looking most coy under her snow mantilla. Beautiful.
Your foyer table is so lovely - I especially like the mercury glass and the wee little pine cone snowman on skis - he is too cute.
And of course I am always in love with Mr. Penguin - he might be feeling a little too toasty right by the heat vent! Ha!
Pretty brooches to replicate sparkling flakes - clever idea.
And yes, the red wellies are fun but the grey ones look so perfect with your floor and décor.
A lovely composition of winter, Betsy.
Jack Frost is here with a vengeance - so c-c-c-c-cold!
