Monday

We woke up to 3 inches of snow today!
The Mister went off to work but the rest of us stayed home
and had a jammie day.

Everyone here enjoyed looking outside at the snow...and birds.

It was beautiful!

Bright blue skies and and sunshine came in the afternoon!
The birds sat in the trees and soaked up the sun!

We're done with our snow for now.
Hope you guys in New England are hunkered down at home
and are safe and sound!  Our three inches of softly falling snow
is nothing compared to the blizzard you are experiencing tonight!

    1. This robin is crazy! I keep saying he came south from Canada and didn't go far enough! It was only 7 degrees F this morning! He's eating the crab apples. He looks very out of place, doesn't he? lol....silly thing!

  4. It is lovely, from all angles. Inside and outside :) just kicked it up a notch here but those New Englanders better beware for sure!

    2. ha truth! but I'm not real worried. I was told we are on the tail of it but who knows. We will roll with the punches I guess!

    4. working at getting it rezoned to mixed use then realtor says, yes, 5 parties interested (they want to have home businesses here). Haha it's been an interesting year to say the least. God writes the best stories!!

  5. Beautiful shots of the snow ~ like the way the top piccie refracts the light through the bevels.
Yes. blizzards are forecast ~ 3 ft in places I hope are not here. I think Scotland is due for a few drops . . . . . :)

    1. We'll have to see just where they strike. Traditionally where I am in the south we get less snow so it will probably strike further north and Scotland where most of it will fall. I have already lagged the outside tap. Is that what you call a faucet? . . . . . . :)

      Delete
    2. We 'lag' pipes with insulation like bubble pack to keep the frost out and prevent bursts. I cover the tap and the exposed pipe outside for the winter . . . I expect you have a different name for it . . . . :)

  6. Pretty pictures. We love pajama days at our house. We got a covering of snow in Ohio, but nothing like is headed out east. I'm a new follower and have enjoyed your posts. Have a nice day, Heather

  7. Yes. We're expecting something like 15" min where I live. Seacoast will be way worse. I posted an updated map on my website. Well, I live in a ski resort & we need the snow so...here goes!

  8. I like the bevelled glass window hanging, I call them Sun Catchers. I used to make and sell similar ones in my studio before I retired, Strangely, they didn't sell as well as the ones with coloured glass in them.

Marmalade seems to be choosing which birdie he will have for lunch. I'm afraid I'm not keen on all that nasty white stuff falling out of the sky!

    1. Would you believe I got that sun catcher out of the auction trash? It's large and I like it clear...it's sparkly without blocking my view outside.

  9. Oh my the news on the blizzard on the East Coast is scary. Kaleb flies out Tuesday, but Illinois is not getting what the coast is. I bet your men look cute in their fur hats. I love the look of your kitchen and is that Marmalade at the window? I got a tracking number today from UPS that my new KitchenAid is on it's way. I'm so excited. I've wanted one for years.

Your snow scenes are so beautiful...it looks soft and fluffy.

    1. Can't wait to see your Kitchen Aid! What color did you get?

      Delete
    2. I went to Macy's to check out colors. I change my colors so often in my house, I had decided it would be white on white or brushed silver. After seeing them in person, I decided I'm a white on white gal, and no matter what color I use in my kitchen it will look nice. I will be leaving it on the counter, as I can't lift much with my wrists. Also my kitchen is done in white and counter tops a kind of marble look. I will be posting pictures as soon as I get it. Because my needs are not huge...I got the 5.5 qt.

    3. Classic white...I love that! Mine stays out in the counter, too! It always ready and convenient that way....right beside the canisters of sugar and flour.

    1. It must be big news if you're hearing about it over there! I'm a little jealous it's not covering us with a BIG THICK blanket of snow like that. ha.

  11. Marmalade is definitely challenging Slate for most featured blog kitty. Your herd is so gorgeous, especially given the fact that they started out as homeless strays. I'm in the process of getting used to a new pair of bifocals. Almost made it to 70 with over-the-counter readers. Lynne in NC

    1. My goodness! I got bifocals before I was 50! I have them in my contact lenses! Hope you adjust alright. Slate sure was doing some photo worthy things lately and each time he was on my lap and I didn't have my camera! He's been very soft and snuggly lately...such good company! Then he sleeps his afternoons away on the living room couch. :)

  13. We received a slight dusting this afternoon. It's blowing from the east today. Not sure if that's because of the nor'easter or what.
Guess we'll have to wait and see if any of that snow reaches us.

    2. We tend to be on the fringe with these storms. What usually gets us is lake effect snow off Lake Ontario.
I have friends in Boston and NYC. I wonder if they're all hunkered down...

  20. Very little snow here and it just melts. I love the kitty looking out the window! What sort of plant is that with the pink flowers? So pretty!

I like your sidebar update on your boys loving the blue grass music. I can just imagine them dancing and loving it. :)

  21. When we had a very early snowfall last year I was concerned it was going to be a hard winter. So far, though, that first snowfall is all we've gotten. I'd say that's a good thing.

    1. It was predicted that we would have a very hard winter! Maybe they had a feeling about the blizzard out east. Ha. Although, we here in Ohio had snow on the ground a good month and temps extremely low for a good while. Still, not as bad as I thought, I agree!

  22. Evan read earlier the blizzard was not as bad as they expected it to be last night... I hope that stays true! Your snow is beautiful, Betsy!! blessings ~ tanna
