Betsy, they (the photos and the kitties) just keep getting better and better. Love the eyes. You can really imagine them thinking what you wrote in the captions. Juvenile Coopers Hawk on my next door neighbors' roof today. That means no bird feeder business for a while now. Lynne in NC
I used to have a hawk hang around our neighborhood every year, waiting for birds to be in the feeder. Haven't seen one the last few years...maybe it's the cats. Although, cats hang around the feeder for the same reason the hawk did! haha.
Remember those toys we had that looked like a clown or something and had a round bottom (?) weighted with lead so that no matter how much you tried to push them over they wobbled back upright? I give you Jack! Next time he does that, give him a prod and see if comes back upright. . . . . .
Haaaaaa! Love this. And now that I see Samantha like this... she is indeed so petite. Great photos and captions - I was thinking of those weighted toys too. Grin.
She's really sweet, too..the one that greets all the guys with licks on their faces. And when I say hi to her, she always gives a little meow back. Cute!
I had to read the comments before leaving mine and sure enough, Anita said what I was thinking. We also call it the meatloaf position. It was from an illustrated cat book by artist B. Kliban popular back in the 80s. http://www.gocomics.com/klibans-cats/2013/06/27
Yep...the speech bubbles say it all... I'm pretty sure I nailed it at my hall. They thought I was so silly, too as they had those legs tucked out of view!
Cats are so cool! They can get into the weirdest places and spaces. Mine doesn't get up on the counter or table, but she loves to try to sit in the window sill. She's just too fat to stay up there very long.
They certainly are entertaining, aren't they? Never a dull moment....they even make me laugh when they are sleeping with all of their funny twitches and positions.
Oh my goodness, Betsy! Those pictures are absolutely AWESOME! And I love the way you have typed their words! That could TOTALLY be what they are saying!
Jack looks like he might roll over sideways any time now...
ReplyDeleteHe really does! He didn't seem amused that I was laughing at him, either!
DeleteCats really do know how to give the evil eye. If looks could kill I'd be dead several times over.
Delete:0)
Velvet is the one here that really can give the evil eye. I think she's saying, "Don't even think about trying to pet me!"
DeleteThat's pretty clever though, maybe it's easier if you have fur to tuck your legs into.
ReplyDeleteI think Jack looks like he's standing up in a hole. haha.
Deletei bet their legs are warm though...
ReplyDeletedomino sits like that too...
I wonder if their legs fall asleep like ours would. ha.

DeleteI'm not sure why, but we always referred to this as the meatloaf position. Ha!
ReplyDeleteMeatloaf? OK...now you have ME laughing!
DeleteOh that is too funny. I would have been laughing too. They do look quite ROUND with the feet tucked in. Love how they talk to you.
ReplyDeleteYes, they do...like they could just roll over!
DeleteThat is so cute, laughing as I leave :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to give you a little chuckle today. :)
DeleteHahahaha, my kind of post.
ReplyDeleteJust a little levity today. :)
DeleteRemember those toys we had that looked like a clown or something and had a round bottom (?) weighted with lead so that no matter how much you tried to push them over they wobbled back upright? I give you Jack! Next time he does that, give him a prod and see if comes back upright. . . . . .
ReplyDeleteYes! That is exactly what I think of when I look at him! Hilarious!
DeleteI think Samantha is thinking "Oh, NO! Not that camera again! Can't a girl have a bit of peace and quiet?"
DeleteYep...I couldn't even get her to look at me! Of course, it was hardly fair since I was making fun of her at the same time. :)
DeleteYou are very naughty you know! Go and stand in the corner.
DeleteCats have feelings. If I laugh at Dinky I am rewarded with a withering icy glare. . . . .for hours after!
DeleteYou have a great sense of humor and I enjoy reading your blog.
DeleteKeith ~ I went and made dinner instead of standing in the corner. ha.
Delete111 ~ Thank you! I always enjoy it when you stop by! :)
Sweet kitties. Hope you had a nice day. Heather
ReplyDeleteI did have a nice day...was out of town for most of it...lovely sunshine...very nice!
DeleteI just love when cats sit that way, I just love Jack and Samantha!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny? I always laugh at them looking like they could roll over. haha.
DeleteFunny cat conversation . . . . they definitely look as though they are thinking something . . . . like, "Where's my tea?" . . . . . :)
ReplyDeleteWhere's my tea? lol...maybe. Shall I change the bubbles?
DeleteNo, your's are just great and funny . . . . . lol . . . . . :)
Deletehope your day was a good one . . . . :)
It was very nice, yes. :)

ReplyDeleteWeren't there some called Weebles? Seems like I remember a little catchy tune, "Weebles wobble but they don't fall down..." ♪♪
DeleteYes, she's a pretty little thing, isn't she? She's the only one of 9 kittens from Velvet with those slanted eyes...so girly!
Yes - "Weebles wobble but they don't fall down" ha! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFzhjnjXc2o
DeleteHer eyes are just stunning - I don't think I have ever seen a cat like that with such slanted eyes. Beautiful.

ReplyDeleteOops.. great photos. Cats beg to photographed.. even if they don't think so.
DeleteJust had a look at your link...that is so funny! I'll never make meatloaf without thinking of that now! haha.
Deletelol Jack really has those legs in there
ReplyDeleteAs they give you a wtf glare
They do look to be asking the other what you are doing too
Then go to ignore you
Yep...the speech bubbles say it all...
DeleteI'm pretty sure I nailed it at my hall.
They thought I was so silly, too
as they had those legs tucked out of view!
We'll, this make me giggle!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
It made me giggle, too! :)
DeleteToo funny! Our last cat used to sit like that and tip over, so we call it kitty tipping mode. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, that is so funny he would tip over! I've never seen one do that..so far they've all kept their balance.
DeleteCats are so cool! They can get into the weirdest places and spaces. Mine doesn't get up on the counter or table, but she loves to try to sit in the window sill. She's just too fat to stay up there very long.

DeleteDon't you know those little paws are nice and toasty warm! ;) blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteThey certainly are! Still, it doesn't look that comfortable, does it!? Lol
DeleteOh my goodness, Betsy! Those pictures are absolutely AWESOME! And I love the way you have typed their words! That could TOTALLY be what they are saying!
ReplyDeleteAren't they hilarious? Jack in that last one still makes me laugh every time I look at it!
DeleteIt is pretty funny that they both do the exact same thing.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute post! Yes, little sphinx-kitties looking disgusted with you! :-)
