Closet Cleaning

I've had this closet on my mind since the reno was completed!
It needed some cleaning out as you can see!

I liked the bins I put in my studio so much that I got more
for this little project.  They are Better Homes & Gardens
brand and I got them at walmart.com online.

I removed 11 old cans of paint which are colors we don't even
have on any walls any more, a bag of items to throw away
and one box for the thrift store.  Now I think we can actually
find a battery or masking tape when we need them!

    1. Why is the left hand basket on the middle shelf labelled "Bugs, Fleas and Mice"?

      Delete
    2. Because it contains insect repellent, a citronella candle, flea spray and a mouse trap!

    3. The mouse trap is obviously before the cats. And you can't say we aren't prepared for mosquitoes or other critters! haha.

    4. Land sakes! I didn't even think to read the labels. Heck! I can't even see them!

  5. I love the bins...is that a chalkboard sign on the front of each, or one you made yourself ?
It takes a lot of talking yourself into starting cleaning projects, but doesn't it feel so satisfying once there complete.
    Well done !

    1. They came just like that with the little labels....so nice! I didn't have to do a thing..they came with the liners snapped in and everything...nice price, too! Yes, the middle of the process is crazy because it actually looks worse before it looks better! haha.

  6. Oh please come to my house! Ha! Those baskets make even random stuff look great! Do you have any extra size D batteries?

    1. haha..I know...it's the bins! Organized and the junk looks cool. lol.... I didn't have a single D battery and had to write them on my shopping list...along with AA's. I could spare a few AAA's, though. How did I get so many? Oh wait, I know...I couldn't find the ones we had and bought more! hahaha....

  10. Be careful Betsy....before you know it you will have another side job as a Closet Makeover. What an improvement ....You get these great ideas that I would never think of. But the best part... I'm a copy cat...and love your ideas. Our closets are big enough, but we didn't downsize enough and both bedroom closets are just packed top to bottom. Thanks again for being my inspiration.

    1. I'm always amazed at how junk just accumulates in these spaces! haha. Every time I clean out I find there are things I really don't need. If you reorganize a closet I want to see before and afters! ha.

  12. Betsy...this is so cool! I have to check out the Walmart baskets. Is this a holiday closet? Cleaning closet? Multi purpose? Just kidding. And the paint...doesn't matter. It dries up so fast it's useless. It's sad then you take down pics and have to Spackle...then no paint nor do you have the card if you wanted more.

I just posted the most awful linen closet you have ever seen. We must be on the same wavelength! Ha ha!

    1. Yeah, glad to be rid of the old paint. I did keep all of our current colors and properly labelled each one with the room it goes to. Much better. I guess this is a cleaning closet...maintenance...with some seasonal storage at the top. It used to be a second pantry until I created a walk in pantry across the hall...my next cleaning project! Lol...
