Cut out cookies are indeed a labor of love. haha. But I kept the decorating very simple to streamline the process. And I was so good..I only sampled one! haha.
We had a ton of snow yesterday - I posted some photos on FB. It was beautiful, especially in the German Christmas Market area of the Distillery. Like a postcard.
I love that beautiful kind of snow! We had that one last month and then it warmed up enough to green up the grass! haha. Now that it's cold again, we need some clouds! The frost on the ground was pretty, but not the same. :)
My oh my . . . . . I've just commented on the nutcracker and hey presto we have another culinary delight . . . . . gosh folks, Betsy is in overdrive . . . lol Looks great . . . . the sort of snow I like . . . hope you are not flaked out after all that . . . . lol . . . .:)
I actually got round to writing some Christmas Cards tonight now little Peter is gone . . . . so quiet without him. Yes you are on a roll there my good little elf . . . . . :)
You've added another reason for me to get in the Christmas spirit! Love those cookies! And also, your header picture - the only thing missing in it, is me! :)
I've been baking and cooking today. cheesey scones, French bread (baguettes), I made some sourdough starter too. You iced snowflakes look great, how do you think up these things? How about making some gingerbread men and dressing the up with colored icing to look like Santas?
I haven't made gingerbread men in years! I do have the cookie cutter. Actually, I collect cookie cutters. You wouldn't believe how big my collection is! Those snowflake cookies with the frosting are as big as your hand! ha. Just one would make a meal. :)
I have that some rolling pin! I got mine in Italy when we lived there. I love it. I also have that same white snowflake cookie cutter. Your dough looks perfect! And beautiful cookies!
Hi Betsy, Such beautiful cookies! We woke to 20 degrees this a.m. but it warmed up to 60. I thought of you today. I noticed a cat wearing a collar trying desperately to get in a neighbor's front door. I called the cat to our porch and fed her and gave her water. I drove her to my vet and she was chipped. They were able to track down her owner and they came and picked her up. Sent their heartfelt thanks to me! I don't mind telling you I shed a few tears for her!!!
Pretty cookies- no snow here..just the misty showers. Hoping for sunshine tomorrow so I can finish shopping. Cookie night coming up next week with the grands so I will be baking for two days to get ready. I like your snow!
Ooooooooooooo - tasty! So pretty.

DeleteRecipe?
Here's the link...first time trying it for me. Really nice dough but make sure you chill it well or it gets sticky.

We had eight days of gloom and rain, then yesterday and today we FINALLY saw some sunshine! I'll take sun (warm or cold, it doesn't matter) any day.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to complain about the sun, really. And the sky was beautiful!
