Hi Betsy - looks to be amazing and an Orchestra to keep my eyes open for ... if I can get to see them here. Lovely photos - Lauren looks radiant ... even with the new man in her life?! So pleased you had an evening out .. at what was obviously a spectacular show .. amazing - cheers Hilary
Lauren always looks radiant! :) She gets her picture taken with this one guy every year...he looks just like her cousin...an amazing likeness! He's not as famous, though. ha.
I always smile when I see your posts about the TSO because it makes me think of our acclaimed orchestra in Toronto with the same acronym, Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Two totally different styles but music all the same! Sounds like you had fun and Lauren looks wonderful. Enjoy your Sunday!
Two different styles, yes...but I like both! I haven't been to a classic orchestra concert in quite a while...but I do love them. I haven't been to a performance of The Messiah, either, which I adore...
Oh, you must try and see the Messiah if you get the opportunity. I have not been to one in a few years but I was either performing in one or watching one for many, many years in a row. The sing-a-long ones are very popular here and people have a great time. Such an amazing work. And Handel wrote it in only 24 days. Incredible.
I didn't word that very well..I meant that I hadn't been to The Messiah in years...but I have been to many. And sang in a performance each year of college...a very moving experience, really! The Nutcracker is another performance I haven't been to in years. We used to go every Christmas!
Yes - those Messiah choruses are something else, aren't they? I was so excited when I got to perform my first one as a soloist after so many years as a chorister. Such an incredible work. No, I have not seen the Nutcracker in a while either. I have to say I am not the biggest ballet fan... I keep thinking they should burst out into song! But I tend to really like the contemporary programs they do and also contemporary dance in general. I attend a lot of theatre, opera, concerts, but have not been to a dance performance in a while. Must do something about that. Hope you enjoyed your show tonight!
Trans Siberian Orchestra ~ a little bird told me . . . . lol Looked like a fab event. Love the picture of Lauren with that fine young man ~ something to keep to show the kids and grandchildren one day . . . So pleased you enjoyed the show so much . . . . :)
Trans Siberian Orchestra? I've never heard of them. . . . . . .I just visited their home page and listened to the sample music. I must say I am very impressed with it, right up my street! I'm off to the Amazon site now to order a CD+DVD.
I know! We're having quite the busy and festive weekend...both events were business related and perks of the mister's job. Would you believe last year was the first time I'd ever watched the original 34th Street movie? ha. At least I know what it's about this year. lol....
You must have been the only person left to see that movie. :) Though I do think it is more for grownups than kids anyway, so you probably enjoyed it more than you would have if you'd seen it a long time ago.
I know! It's been around forever! Not sure how that one slipped by....I don't ever remember my parents watching it while I was growing up, either! I agree...more for grownups, too.
This was our third...yay! Yes, we get tickets every year ...the hospital's foundation that the mister works for sponsor the performance so lucky us get special treatment!
Well, thanks Mike...I appreciate that a lot. When I showed my ticket to get it, they confiscated my camera because it had interchangeable lenses! ha. They thought I was a professional and professional photographers were not allowed! Fortunately the mister knew the head of security and he brought it back to me.

ReplyDeleteNo...that didn't happen to us. But there were two performances yesterday...must have been the other one!
