- Some vintage jars full of cookies waiting to give to the bus driver and aide this afternoon.
- More Etsy sales going out with a gift for the mail lady. She does earn her pay on my account alone! ha.
- Charcoal, snoozing by the glow of the tree.
- The wreath is the only thing frosty around here. It's cold enough for snow and grey enough for snow. It just needs to fall now!
- Some spicy soup to warm our tummies down to our toes.
- Smoke, hanging out in the kitchen with me. If he gets any bigger, I won't be able to tell him from Slate!
- The boys at their Christmas program Tuesday.
♥
Smoke fooled me. I thought he was Slate. Wish you hadn't posted those cookies. Got me drooling. I like the Boys' striped shirts. My mother used to dress me in ones like those with corduroy pants.
ReplyDeleteI knew that would fool you! Slate is about double the size of Smoke! But we're trying to fatten Smoke up and he's looking so much better! Now at a quick glance, I can't tell who it is!
DeleteGlad to see you're looking all Christmas-y around there!! And that "snow wish" will most likely be fulfilled for Christmas up your way. Down here, not so much. Gray, gloomy, and I'm being down this week for some reason. Therefore, haven't done any posting at all.... need some Christmas cheer I suppose.... a good dose of it!!
ReplyDeleteGloomy? Well that will just not do! Let's see what we can do about that...ha.
DeleteI'm sure it's temporary. "This too shall pass." And then it's on to my BD and the big Christmas celebration.
DeleteYour birthday is Monday, right? You were almost a Christmas baby! Aw.
DeleteYes.... the 22nd.... Christmas baby is right. Still love it too!
DeleteThat's a good picture of the boys, it looks like it was posed. Over here we have a cartoon character called "Dennis the Menace" with his dog "Gnasher" and they are always getting into scrapes and he always wears a red and black striped sweatshirt like the boys have on. Dennis that is, not the dog!
ReplyDeleteIt's almost impossible to get a posed picture of all three together. I rarely try any more!
DeleteDon't you have a red and black striped sweatshirt?
DeleteI love the garland on the door, but where is the red ribbon with the big bow on it hanging down the door?
DeleteWe call it a wreath! Does it need a red ribbon? I have some!
DeleteTie the ribbon to the bottom of the gar . . er . . .wreath and let it hang down the door. That way it wont hide the pretty birdies
DeleteYou put one on your door first. Then I'll add a ribbon to mine. (ducks and runs...)
DeleteThe USA has a "Dennis the Menace" comic strip character, too, totally unrelated to the British version. (Ours, more mischievous than truly "menacing," is blonde and has a dog named Ruff.) They both premiered in March of 1951, only five days apart. (The British Dennis came first.)
DeleteHi, Betsy, thanks for stopping by my blog and joining me. Love your Christmas blog and the boys are very handsome. That kitty is awesome.
ReplyDeleteWell, thanks, Linda! Thanks for coming over!
Deleteyum, that soup looks nice...
ReplyDeletelove your wreath too...
Same wreath as last year...it still looks pretty good!
DeleteHad that soup again tonight...added avocado and sriracha. yum.
All look beautiful Betsy, really!
ReplyDeleteAnd love the boys, really I love this picture!
They hate to pose, so I had to catch them walking back to their seats. ha.
DeleteEverything sounds wonderful, and the soup looks so delicious!!
ReplyDeleteThe soup is one of our favorites...no recipe and it turns out slightly different every time. lol....
DeleteYou are such a busy bee. Those vintage jars with cookies....how pretty. I'm putting together a few goodie bags for our Maintenance Man, Willie, and a few of the neighbors I have made real friends with. There is a little Asian man (under 5 ') He tiny in every way, almost fragile. In my mind I call him "Peanut" because he's so small. We see each other in the laundry room, and he bows.... I bow...that's how we communicate...but the other day in the parking lot...he waved a big wave and smile...Could he be flirting...He's got to be 80. How I love living here.
ReplyDeleteOh, Willie sounds so cute. ha. He will be thrilled to get a goodie bag from you. How sweet of you to think of him. I really think you and Don have been put there to spread your special Slaven Sunshine. :) The little jars originally came from the thrift store...you know as well as me that you can find the best stuff there! ha. I loved how the cookies looked in them.
DeleteI thought it was Slate for a second there
ReplyDeleteHard to tell in pics with the weight and same color hair
So has the spirit hit yet?
Or are you just flying without a net? lol
For a while Slate wouldn't come around but every few days. Seems he and Jack were having a little rift and Jack would chase him off. So the poor guy didn't get to eat every day. Then I realized he had tape worms on top of that. So he was a very skinny thing. Treated the worms, scolded Jack and gave Slate a treat of roasted chicken every day on top of the regular cat food. It's been about 2 months and he's looking a lot better.
DeleteI had to fly without a net for a while but I guess the spirit has hit. Feeling really good now that all the things on the calendar are done and we can just chill out and enjoy the next couple of weeks.
No rhyme for all of that. Only on my second cup of coffee....lol....
I love the vintage jar gifts, the soup looks delicious and I love that you are treating the mail lady. Cute pic of the boys!
ReplyDeleteI remember you treating your mail man during my RAK last year. Yours has way more snow to get through than mine. ha.
DeleteGreat photos! Charcoal and Smoke both look like they are enjoying life!
ReplyDeleteYes, they are pampered kitties, that is for sure! Thanks for visiting, A. :)
DeleteWe need some snow, too! I hate to say that because I worry about everyone driving in it. Your soup looks scrumptious and your boys are looking quite handsome!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and much love.
Jane xx
I think just about everyone welcomes snow on Christmas....as long as it doesn't hamper traffic too bad. It's grey and gloomy here again, today...maybe some flakes will fall!
DeleteWhat a great photo of the lads! They look so handsome. I lovvvvve the soft, grey kitties. They look very content. Oh to be a cat at Betsy's! And I seem to remember that those jars might have been in the Etsy shop at one point... or something similar. I almost snapped them up and I am enjoying the one I bought from you last year that has the glass vase surrounded by the the wire Christmas tree. It is so sweet!
ReplyDeleteThose jars were in the shop! Nobody took them so they went into my gift drawer. They turned out pretty cute with the cookies in them, I think. The bus driver and aide are two sweet old men. I just love them and they are so good with all the special needs young adults on the bus. They certainly deserve a treat!
DeleteAbsolutely - they are often the unsung heroes.
DeleteHi Betsy - all the photos look amazing ... love them all and the magic they emanate out to us so we can share them with you ... love the photos of the boys in their stripes and then the cats - gorgeous ... such kind thoughts for the bus driver and aide, as well as the postlady .. the soup looks exceptionally good too ... wonderfully warming and heart heating! Cheers and have a very happy time - Hilary
ReplyDeleteIt's been soup weather, that is for sure! And I love how there is usually leftovers for the next day. ha. Are you ready for Christmas? :)
DeleteChristmas at your place looks a treat. I love your wreath, very elegant.
ReplyDeleteWould you believe that wreath was at the hardware store? I only added the red birds.
DeleteGreat shot of the boys ~ quite rare getting them all together it seems.
ReplyDeleteYou are what I can only describe as a whirlwind with all your festive activities and preparations.
We shall have to call you Busy Dizzy Lizzie . . . . hahah. . . . smiles and hugs and have a mice pie . . . lol . . :)
This whirlwind is tired of spinning. haha....she's going into hermit mode to recover.
Deletemice...lol...
DeleteOh rats . . . I said mice instead of mince . . . . rofl
DeleteAnother phrase might be "Screen Saver Mode" . . . . lol
Rats AND mice? What will we do with you? I thought you were teasing me with the mice. So that really was a typo?
DeleteYou know, since you've done it 4 times in the last 24 hours, I'd say there's something psychological going on there.
Maybe you really do want a mice pie and are just afraid to admit it. haha...
Just like seeing you laugh . . . . I know it amuses you and you need your chuckle muscle exercised . . . lol
DeleteWhat a great picture of the boys!
ReplyDeleteThat's about as good as it gets with them. ha.
DeleteAnother collection of beautiful photographs!
ReplyDeleteThe boys look like they are having a great time....good for them....and you!
Enjoy your weekend, Betsy
Cheers!
Linda :o)
It's always interesting to go see them in their class, that's for sure. ha.
DeleteSo glad the boys seem to be enjoying their school. And I love your wreath!
ReplyDeleteLaurie
I think they do like it...it's a great program and the staff is so sweet.
DeleteYou are one busy lady! Your wreath is intricate and beautiful. I really like your first photo. I like the composition and the lighting. (Not to mention the fact that the cookies look delicious!) Merry Christmas Betsy
ReplyDeleteWell, thanks, Christa....the busyness is finally settling down and I can just enjoy the rest of the month. So glad! ha.
DeleteYour wreath!!! It's breathtaking! Hope that snow falls for you!!
