I'm a little late getting my November foyer table done!
I'm blaming it on the reno. ha.
I love changing up this table and trying to use what
I have on hand instead of buying anything new.
I did buy the grey pumpkin at the grocery, though.
Maybe it will turn into a grey pie? Ew! haha.
The plate and bird figurine were in the auction trash,
believe it or not! The dome and base were $1 at auction.
The little wood box was from the thrift store years
ago and the scale has been around for a while.
Can't believe in a couple of weeks it will be time
to change it up to Christmas! I'm not nearly in
the Christmas spirit yet!
♥
It all looks very nice, but where are the pink wellies? If it keeps snowing for Thanksgiving then you are going to need them!
ReplyDeleteEddie called them passion killers, so I bought a new pair of grey ones. :)
Deletelol . . . . they were red wellies anyway . . . and I liked them . . . ah! don't throw them away, Betsy . . .Keith will have them !!!
DeleteHi Keith . . . First again I see. Have you build a special radar detector for Betsy's posts? . . .lol
Ed - yes !
DeleteLove the layout of your Thanksgiving Foyer Table and all the nick-nacks. It's amazing how you picked up all those bargains at such bargain prices from the auction . . . It all looks spick and span and dandy without a spot of dust anywhere. Bet you are pleased all the reno mess is out of the way . . .
ReplyDeleteCan you remind me what Thanksgiving is all about? Is it a celebration that you kicked us out when we were redcoats all those years ago . . .or is it something to do with the pilgrim fathers. Must look it up. I know the day is huge over there. . . . :)
The redcoats had not come yet. :) The Pilgrims celebrated with the Indians that they survived their trip across the ocean and their first winter in the new land......the meal is still somewhat similar to what they would have eaten, too!
DeleteIt looks so nice! I'm impressed with your chalk art. :)
ReplyDeleteI spent a lot of time on the outside part, so I keep it there all the time and just change the simple inside words. ha.
DeleteHmm. . . .I thought it looked familiar from previous display boards.
DeletePretty- I love the little bird under glass.
ReplyDeleteI do, too...isn't it sweet? Can't believe it wasn't broken as it was left for the trash bin.
DeleteIt's beautiful! I really love the tone it sets :) And that side board piece makes me swoon! I saw one similar not too long ago while out with the Husband- unfortunately he didn't think it necessary. :( Can't wait to someday have my own work and bit of cash so I can buy what I consider necessary! ;)
ReplyDeleteYes, that is the way to do it! Your own little paypal account and buy what you want. :) We bought the sideboard almost 30 years ago at a yard sale. When we did the reno, the mister asked if I wanted to buy something more contemporary for that spot. Um...NO. haha.
DeleteI adore your foyer table with the chalkboard. You find such great things at your auctions. I am not at all in the Christmas spirit yet.
ReplyDeleteNo Christmas yet here either....no mixing or overlapping of holidays for us!
DeleteFoyer is looking great! I do enjoy how you decorate it for the seasons. And I never really get into the Christmas spirit until Thanksgiving is over. Then it's a mad dash!! HA! Or should I say "HO... HO... HO"??? (Ok... not yet!)
ReplyDeleteI enjoy it...a small spot and a few things instead of whole hog all over the house. Trying to keep it simple...yet classy and beautiful. ha.
DeleteGlad to hear you aren't in the Christmas spirit yet...it is far too early. I like to enjoy Thanksgiving for what it is....which is not a kick off to Christmas...at least not in our house it isn't. No Santas holding orange pumpkins....nope! lol....
Look really beautiful Betsy! I love the bird:)
ReplyDeleteI love the bird, too...such a sweet little thing!
DeleteLook beautiful!
DeleteSave some dough
ReplyDeleteAnd made quite a thankful show
What if we already gave thanks?
Can we now curse out the banks?
You better still be nice.
DeleteSanta still has that list he's checking twice!
I can hold out another month or so
DeleteFor his ho ho ho
So on the 26th of December
Deleteyou think he won't remember
and you can be as bad as you want
because he's done with the naughty/nice hunt?
It feels, in some ways, as though I missed autumn this year, and in other ways I feel like I enjoyed it very much.
ReplyDeleteI need one little table to decorate, but I don't have a foyer to put it in.
:0)
I love those coffee bars you see on pinterest all the time. A table set up against a kitchen or family room wall...many have a chalkboard, too! If I had more room in the kitchen I would have put one in..kind of the same amount of space for seasonal decor along with cups and things for drinks. I think they are so cute..and functional, too.
DeleteThat does sound cozy right now.
DeleteThis is a cute one...

Is that a real pumpkin? Cool!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Linda :o)
Yes....straight from the grocery. I bought a light green one and a white one, too....such soft tones...lovely! But I laugh when I think of baking him. Not really an appetizing color.
DeleteI think I just found the old scale that I have been looking for forever!! Love it! Better late than never, very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI think I missed your kitchen reveal. I'm going to scroll back.
Jane xx
don't you just love those old scales? I have a whole pinterest board full of them! ha.
DeleteThe kitchen was just finished last Friday. I still have to take the final photos! It's on the To Do List right now!
What a inviting entry. I love your grey pumpkin... I'm thinking a pretty red and gold ribbon would turn it into a Christmas Pumpkin. That's what I'm going to do with my white pumpkin. All the pieces just come together to make something lovely. Your artwork on the chalk board is great.
ReplyDeleteA Christmas pumpkin...what a great idea! Maybe a crown of silvery acorns would be appropriate! You know I had to buy grey...haha.
DeleteOh yes, silvery acorns... I love that idea. Maybe I should do that with my white pumpkin, and a little silver sparkles. Thanks Betsy.
DeleteI think that would be beautiful on a white pumpkin! Make sure you take a picture!
DeleteMe again. Do you have a link?
ReplyDeleteJane
Not yet! Soon, though!
DeleteYour table looks beautiful. And, I love, love, love chalkboards. They are so fun to play with. You have beautiful hand-writing, Betsy and quite artistic, too.
ReplyDeleteYa, I agree that grey pies may not draw a crowd.
grey pies...I'm still cracking up about that! I wonder if the taste is the same...
DeleteI love the pretty plate! And, the bird under the lovely jar is wonderful! =)
ReplyDeleteI agree he's wonderful....it's amazing the things left for the trash sometimes! I had to bring him home with me!
DeleteDelightful display, Betsy. The plate and bird are real treats - can't believe they were left "for dead." I love your side table and my, my, my, what pretty floors! You must be pleased.
ReplyDeleteThe flesh of your grey guy is still orange, by the way - a bit of a paler orange. You wouldn't believe all the colours of pumpkins - natural, not dyed. Have a look at this link for some fun! I love the blue and the red ones.

I didn't know that! I like that better...I'd like to bake him at some point instead of throwing him out.
DeleteHi Betsy - I love seeing your creations .. and this is just beautiful - all matching ... then the trash .. I'd pass it by - but you can see the sparkle in there ... everyone's being rude about your grey pies .. but they'd match the decor and would look stunning with their peachy coloured insides! Cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you girls are informing me...I would have been Very surprised to find peachy colored flesh inside...pleasantly surprised, I might add. Ha.
DeleteIt's a gorgeous vignette. Wonderful deals and you have a knack for making it all look good together. Your home is so lovely and welcoming.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mildred. :). How's the foot this morning? Hope you weren't hosting thanksgiving this year. :)
DeleteIt all looks so pretty!! I really like the plate and the bird and would never have left those behind if they had been in one of my auction lots!! They make great decorations for your table and a lovely welcome to your visitors and family. xx
ReplyDeleteI would not have left them behind either, obviously. Ha...especially if I paid for them.
DeleteYour artist's soul is evident in every nook of your life, Betsy!! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteWell, you're the real artist, Tanna, so that means a lot coming from you. :)
DeleteIt looks great, like usual! It's crazy the little treasures you always find in the trash or in the auctions. :) Oh, and I can't wait to switch it up to Christmas!!! Red and gold evvveerryyywheerree! haha
ReplyDeleteNot too excited about Christmas now, are you? ha.
DeleteThe foyer table is a wonderful looking piece. It must give your great inspiration as the piece cries out to be a display piece. Your Thanksgiving display looks really good.
