We're supposed to get warm temperatures and rain this weekend
so the snow will only be a memory by Monday.
Here's one more look at our first snow of the season.
I think it was awesome!
It was like extra powdered sugar on a funnel cake!
Can you spot the bird?
And how many crab apples do you see?
haha...just joking. Please don't count them...I didn't!
I love it when my camera catches the flakes falling!
I thought some of these shots looked like Christmas cards!
Sweet shy boy.
I think he was flirting. ha.
Our little house feels very cozy with the trees hugging us close.
And that now classic shot from my back porch.
Although it was early for snow, it sure was beautiful on the red leaves!
Sugar on berries.
I think I'd rather have snow that old grey rain!
♥
Beautiful...
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Thanks!
DeleteIt's been a double dark grey day here, and rained continuously, even Ginger Tom paid a surprise visit because of the weather and stayed all day.
ReplyDeleteThat's the way I like snow; in photos, and at least three thousand miles away from me!
Damn! Linda beat me to being first, but only 3mins!
DeleteAw, I'm so glad Ginger Tom came around!
DeleteYes, that was flirting...I saw the wink. HaHa. What lovely pictures, Betsy.
ReplyDeleteIsn't he a sweet little thing? Aw.
DeleteGorgeous photography! Yes... he was flirting! The snow was beautiful, too.
ReplyDeleteDon, I'll never forget the first time you sent me a note and encouraged me with the picture taking. That was a few years ago already! That random act of kindness really did encourage me to keep trying....I'll never forget that. :)
DeleteAhhhh... aren't you sweet! I just call 'em like I see 'em.... your pictures are totally awesome! I've dabbled with photography all my life, but never really have been able to get into it like I wanted to... mostly due to lack of money and lack of time. HAHA.. Now I'm living the dream vicariously through my SON. He freelances as a fashion photographer, and his work is awesome. Check him out at DonovanJ.com (Yes, a shameless plug right there)
DeleteYou had mentioned he was into photography, but I didn't realize it was a career for him! Where is he located? And you aren't a Donald but a Donovan? And here I thought he photographed trees and flowers...lol.....
DeleteI just looked at DonovanJ.com. I love his pictures, especially the 'naughty' ones ! ha.
DeleteSaw the bird right away
ReplyDeleteThen he went hiding is display
Great shots they are
As long as the snow stays near your sand bar
A little winter tease
Deletewith the polar vortex freeze
Then back to normal weather
as for Thanksgiving we gather together!
Nice and warm it will be
DeleteAlso here at our sea
Beautiful photos, Betsy. I'm looking forward to the warmer temps even if it does come with rain.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the men working on your mouse house would appreciate some warm weather, too!
DeleteAw really look like a Christmas card!
ReplyDeletehaha....I know! I need some stars on top of those trees! :)
DeleteGorgeous - these could all be cards. I especially love the snow on the colourful leaves - it's not often that we get that.
ReplyDeleteYou're right! And I think the leaves caught more of the snow and let it get really thick on the trees....so beautiful. If we're going to have snow, this is the kind I like...thick, wet and heavy...it looks the most beautiful!
DeleteI guess with your plans going kaflooey, you did not get any spa days in this week? Hope you can do at least a little something for yourself over the weekend. I know you're busy... but take the time! That's an order... :-)
ReplyDeleteYou're right...the whole week did not go as planned! No pampering for me....sigh! That's how it usually works.
DeleteI've really been wanting that bubble bath...but by the time night comes, I'm too tired! ha. Maybe tonight....
Yes! Brilliant white snow over rain any day! (says the girl who lives in the rainy, mild and grey Northwest) ;)
ReplyDeleteI forgot you lived out there! Oregon, is it? Those polar vortexes need to start further west! ha.
DeleteWell, I technically live in Southern Washington State, but my home is a 2 min. drive to the Oregon border, so Oregon is pretty much right on, too. :) Our usual snowfall means ONE snow day a year on average. :( Mostly it's just wet and very grey. You said November is pretty early for you guys (Ohio, right?), so when does the usual powder start? December . . . ?
DeleteIsn't that interesting that you are actually more north than us but don't get the snow! Yes, December is when the snow usually starts, but last year we had a pre-Thanksgiving snow, too. And it can snow through March and occasionally into early April.
DeleteThat is so pretty, it really does look like powdered sugar on funnel cakes! You got great shots Betsy!
ReplyDeleteAnd now I want a funnel cake! haha...it's been years!
DeleteI first tasted funnel cakes at the cranberry festival in Wisconsin. They were served with an apple/cranberry sauce..pure deliciousness! Once we came home from that holiday I tried my hand at making them. They turned out so good but not something I would or should eat on a regular basis. haha
DeleteI have never made them, but I've saved a few recipes...easy enough, but yeah, you'd be as big as the state of Wisconsin if you made them very often! haha.
DeleteHi Betsy- snow is so beautiful .. when it's manageable - stunning shots and your little chap - he sure was hiding ... these could definitely be cards ... love them all - they give an idea of peace and cheer ... have a happy weekend without too much of the grey stuff I hope .. Hilary
ReplyDeleteYes, when it's manageable....I've always said if it would just snow everywhere but the streets, everyone would love it!
DeleteSimply gorgeous snow photography ~ yes I saw the little bird . . . and flirting of course . . . wonder what his name is . . lol . . . . :).
ReplyDeleteI think I would rather have snow than this miserable relentless rain and bland weather we are having . . . . the sun tried to shine this morning but rolled over and went back to sleep . . . :)
No gardening for you today, I guess!
DeleteAlas ~ not as it is ~ everything is far too wet . . and uninviting out there . . .
DeleteGlad you backed me up Eddie, I told Betsy how miserable and depressing the weather is in the Mother Country, but I think she thought I was exagere. . . . . exzag. . . . .making it up as I went along! Didn't you, ducky?
DeleteWho, me? I would never accuse you of exaggerating! cough-cough. Never!
DeleteTut!
DeleteThese are wonderful pics, Betsy. I love the berries and the little flirtatious bird. Any of these would be beautiful cards! Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mildred...hope you're having a nice weekend, too!
DeleteNext time it snows at night get out into the garden with your flash. I've taken some lovely photos like that in the past. When the flash catches the snowflakes. I haven't tried it lately even though one of my cameras has a snow function. But it's too complicated and I've never learned to use it!
ReplyDeleteIt is still too warm here in London. We've only had one frost so far.
What a great idea...I'll have to try that next snow! A snow setting...I'm going to have to check that out...I'm curious!
DeleteIt's pretty, all right, but you can keep it. Ha.
ReplyDeleteAnd here I thought you liked the snow! :)
DeleteSitting inside watching it fall, maybe... if I'm with the right person...
DeleteThat sounds like a Christmas card, too!
DeleteIt's very pretty, and I love that fall (the berries, the leaves) is peaking it's head out from under the snow and saying "oh no you don't! not yet!"
ReplyDeleteI think that's exactly what fall was saying! It gets three months just like all the other seasons and it wasn't about to go a month early! haha.
DeleteEven snow looks pretty at your house! Ours melted today...I'm glad...not QUITE ready to tackle the driveway for the season!
ReplyDeleteIf only it would land on the ground and not the streets, sidewalks and driveways! Then we'd all love it...well, maybe. ha.
DeleteThey are all such beautiful shots. I like both of the birds.
ReplyDeleteAhh! such beautiful clicks and I know I have so many things to catch here..am somewhat back after a long hibernation..:)
