A Little Halloween Decor

With a the reno stuff winding down, it felt good to get some
dusting done and my little table back in the foyer.
Before it was too late, I thought I'd better do a little Halloween
celebrating!  Now we're all ready, including a bucket of candy
under the table.  It used to have Almond Joys in it but yeah,
I ate them all.  Might as well just gobble them all down
and end the temptation, right?  Now I can happily
leave the rest of the choices alone! ha.

  1. Love your décor - some very inventive and fun pieces. Where is the black cat... living in the studio?

    1. As of today's mail, the black cat is on it's way to Nebraska!

    2. Oh really? Kitty will have a nice trip, I'm sure. Don't know what Almond Joys are but obviously they are popular amongst the blogger crowd!

    3. Next etsy package I ship to you, I'll include an almond joy. Do you like coconut?

    4. I love coconut! Thank you. :-)

  2. No chocolate survives long around here. My Darling can not resist. Almond Joys are one of his favorites.
I have done no fall decorating. So sad.
I think I need a chalk board. Maybe the Darling of Mine can make me one.

    1. I have mums on the front porch but that was it. But I do like to do my little table. Long gone are the days where I did the entire house...so Martha Stewart like. haha. I prefer a more simple life now....or maybe I'm just getting old. lol...

    2. Martha lives here, but not Martha Stewart.

  3. Nice!

I don't dare bring Almond Joys into the house. They wouldn't last more than a day :-)

  6. I would have done the same with the Almond Joys. Just not good to have temptations lurking in a corner. or in your case under a table! Ha

    1. It's so true. I can leave the rest without another thought, but that kind is irresistible to me!

  7. This is so cute...your own artwork I know! I love the man in the moon with the creepy spider hanging off!

I bought a separate bag of candy bars for my hubby...he always gets into it. For myself I buy sugar free chocolate and keep it close at hand so I'm not tempted. No comparison, I know, but I am an emotional sugar eater! ;-)

    2. I did! It was an old ceramic orange one and I printed off old dictionary illustrations and pasted them all over it. Then a coat of Modge Podge. I did it a couple of years ago...

    1. Halloween isn't as much fun here as it was when all the boys were little and we took them house to house. :) Not many kids left to knock on the door and now we have candy left over instead of running out! haha.

    2. I see three black cats nearly every day on my walk and they all want me to stroke them . . . I don't know 'witch' one to chose first? . . . . . ooh! sorry about that dreadful pun . . . . . :)

    3. Well, it would be a catastrophe if you didn't stop to pet them!

    4. Yes one in particular really 'catapults' herself on me . . . . determined to 'catch' me.
It is much bolder than the other two and when they see it getting all the fuss they want some too and I usually sit on a wall for a quarter of an hour with them. And when I start walking again the friendly one runs after me, cuts me up and swerves in front of my feet and stops and makes me stop and tickle it's tummy . . . then I do so for a while and try to get going again and it cuts me up again ~ the same thing happens all down the road . . . I must be a cat magnet I supposes . . . . lol

      So hot today!

    3. Halloween in summer...at least your kids didn't have to wear winter coats over their costumes like ours do so often. Lol....

Is Gavin going trick-or-treating? Do you know what his costume is?

    2. Gavin is going.... not sure what he's dressing up like though. They just moved out (of OUR house) to a new house and neighborhood. I'm sure I'll be in the middle of whatever goes on though. Guess I'll bring the Almond Joys!! HA!!!

    3. Oh, he'll have fun I'm sure. How nice that they got a new place, too. Now listen, you can't bring the Almond Joys! You'll arrive with an empty bag! hahaha....

    1. Isn't he cute? All of those things are from the auctions...except I made the little witches hat from felt. The cat is very old..made from chalk.

  13. Of course I'm drawn to the cat in the hat. Looking very festive there, Betsy. You must be so excited to have your renovations almost over. Woohoo!

    1. Haha...people either love them or hate them! None of the kids like them here....dangerous because I don't even have to share!

  18. How do you find the time for all your home making projects? I swear some people have more hours in the day than others! My day seems to be get up, go to work, come home, go to bed. And then at the weekend I fail miserably to catch up on all the chores and tidying that needs doing. Very sad. But nonetheless we have a lovely home.

  19. I love it!! I wish I was as talented as decorating as you. :) I'll have to keep visiting for some pointers. Hope everything is well, Betsy!

  20. I especially like the cat in the witch hat.

I have to laugh, thinking of you, attacking those fun-sized Almond Joys.

  22. It's hard to decide whether to get candy for Halloween that I like or don't like.
Will I eat it all or be stuck with things no one likes and it's a waste of money?
Love all your Knick Knacks for the holiday.

  23. Love your entry table- beautiful little vignette. :) I have the same problem with Halloween candy. "Fortunately" I now have a cupboard teeming with Belgian chocolates from our Belgian friend who was visiting . . . so I'm not really tempted by the candy that's at the grocery store at this moment ;)
