Saving Santa

Yep, I got to give Santa a bath today!
Don't tell Mrs. Claus. ha.
I pulled him from the auction trash last week.
He was dirty and dusty but I just thought he was cute.
I loved his old vintage style.
Turns out he is a "Kay Finch California" ceramic
wall pocket from the 1940's.
He's large, about 12" tall.

I think he's wonderful!
I did tell him it's still summer, though, so he can take a
nap and make an official grand entrance in December.

  1. Ha! He has a couple months to recover from his auction ordeal and get all his elves in order. He is one clean Santa!!!

    1. I'm sure it was traumatic to be put in a box, sold and then left for the garbage truck! He looks relieved that I saved him! lol....Maybe I'll get something special under the tree this year as a token of his gratitude. :)

    8. Crinkly paper hats for Christmas? OK...I want to see photos! ha.

    9. We Brits wear crinkly paper hats as well at Christmas Parties. We pull a cracker with someone and whoever wins and gets the larger part. Inside is a tube containing a silly party crinkly hat, a silly toy, and a silly joke. Linda, I think we should do a joint Anglo-Canadian post on this - people will really think we are really crackers!!!! The jokes are extremely silly like: Q. What goes tick tock, tick tock, woof woof? A. A watch dog.

      lol

  14. i can't believe he was in the trash! I immediately thought of the Christmas decorations of my childhood. (I was born in 1945.) How exceptional that he's a wall pocket and appears to be in perfect shape, except for the crazing of the finish, which is to be expected. Lynne in NC
