Oh,my doodness sakes, we got a boy kitteh cat we are crazy about his name is Miyagi or Mr. Miyagi he has a touch of white on his belly sort of he wandered crying like a banshee near Halloween several years ago, starved half to death but some meat on his bones, he would only stay in our arbivitae bushes until my hubs fetched him out of them raining like crazy..He would sleep on my chest and snore and wimper so hungry and abandoned, my hubs was crazy about him, we took to a feline clinic of all women vets who adored him, he got fixed cleaned up and has been the king of the house after our queen miss cody..They mearly tolerate each other she has the living room and he goes to his perch in one of our bedrooms and is loved on my myself and my hubs a lot..She only like for me to rub her belly miss cody a grey beauty which was our only childs cat she rescued from a vets office after she inquired about her when she walked by Miss Cody nearly broke the glass when she entered her Vet practice she jumped on her and never left her lap & she adopted her and cared for her until she went to NYC which we took her in..I adore cats, we lost two of our children one week apart in july 2013..I nearly lost my mind, I nursed both kittens to good health using a dropper and special milk and food Mr. bailey boy lived for nearly 20 years and Miss sophie for 19 they must have wanted to cross the rainbow bridge as they laid down after wimpering a little on white hot days and went, I was crushed, miss cody knew what was up, and so did mr. Miyagi they acted strange for two weeks but it does happen..Your cat Velvet looks regal, enjoy your kitty cat, love your blog and photos and your blogging words, ciao!
Betsy, your cat photos are killing me! Your yard and house seem like a wonderland to me. I've lost count of all your fur children. You may be rivaling the gang at Ernest Hemingway's estate in The Keys. I take it Rocky has never returned. Lynne in NC
I almost lost count myself the other day when I said I had 16. Then I went to count and couldn't come up with the 16th one! I think I had already counted Rocky as mine that time I fed him. But he never came back! I'm sad about that...he was a handsome guy with such sweet eyes. I wonder if I'm distantly related to Mr. Hemingway. lol....
I want to pet her! She was snuggled up to Tiger last night on the table and I took a few pictures. Tiger is relaxed and has the look of fight-or-flight in her eyes. Poor thing.
Shadrach, because it started with Shad and I thought of it after he'd already been named. (I'm slow like that.) He was a sweet kitty. Poor boy got sick and we lost him young.
Sometimes I wish I'd kept that fence on my walls and then I remember how much I love it like it is now. :0)
I really like your cat. It all works for the cat to sit t here with the great backyard fence. Cats seem to know how to pose in a perfect place to get their picture taken.
she is gorgeous. it is tough to get a good shot of a black dog or kitty. Those kitties are lucky to have such a pretty yard to hang out in. Guess that is why they are there, that and the food and nice lady. Taria
haha...you might have a point there! Nugget, our black rabbit, is the worst to get a good picture! His eyes are black, too, so sometimes there isn't any definition to his face...just an outline of his body!
What a great photo. Velvet looks like our Magic.
ReplyDeleteHope you guys are enjoying the afternoon.
I've thought that about your Magic...just like my Velvet, Cinder, Shadow and Cocoa! haha.
DeleteDid you notice my "cat crossing" sign with the black cat today?? Wish I could find one just like it to share with you!
DeleteYes! I did notice it! And I thought how much I needed one! haha.
DeleteAw how funny how is posing:)
ReplyDeleteLook beauty :)
She was watching me fill the bird feeders last night and looked so pretty there I had to go in and get my camera!
DeleteHa really is posing:)

She's always giving everyone the evil eye...very untrusting.
DeleteVelvet is such a beautiful kitty! I just love black cats ♥
ReplyDeleteYes, you sure do! haha. Our old Teddy was all black, too. Beautiful, they are!
DeleteVelvet is the perfect October picture...just add a pumpkin.
ReplyDeleteYou're right! I wonder if I could get her to pose again. ha.
DeleteQuite the pose
ReplyDeleteLooks to be staring at your toes lol
She could be.
DeleteShe's the Queen, you see.
Royalty you say
DeleteThey all bow down at your bay?
No, I just mean she's the Matriarch.
DeleteShe's the oldest and mom to most of the park!
Velvety, deep, plush kitty. I hope she continues to become more comfy with you. She is very queenly in this photo. And those beautiful eyes.
ReplyDeleteI want to pet her! She was snuggled up to Tiger last night on the table and I took a few pictures. Tiger is relaxed and has the look of fight-or-flight in her eyes. Poor thing.
DeleteWhat a lovely picture of a picket fence, very English cottage style. I think every home should have one.
ReplyDeleteI've always loved fences!
DeleteAww, what a sweet cat!
ReplyDeleteShe's a beauty! Mother to nine of mine!
DeleteWhat a wonderful group of feline friends you have.
ReplyDeleteI once had a black cat named Shadow but I used to call him Shadrach instead.
:0)
PS. I like your fence too. It's pretty cool.
DeleteI tried to have a fence once but it just didn't happen.
Shadrach....because he looked like he'd been in the firey furnace? haha.
DeleteI remember when you painted a picket fence on your inside walls!
Shadrach, because it started with Shad and I thought of it after he'd already been named. (I'm slow like that.) He was a sweet kitty. Poor boy got sick and we lost him young.
DeleteSometimes I wish I'd kept that fence on my walls and then I remember how much I love it like it is now.

Yeah, I like it now, too...but the fence was fun!
DeleteWhat a great picture! Very pretty cat.
ReplyDeleteDidn't she pose nicely? I love it when that happens. ha.
DeleteThis is a great portrait :)
ReplyDeleteI couldn't have made that happened if I'd tried all day. haha.
DeleteI really like your cat. It all works for the cat to sit t here with the great backyard fence. Cats seem to know how to pose in a perfect place to get their picture taken.
ReplyDeleteDon't they? And if you tried to make them do it, it would never happen!
DeleteVelvet looks like a fuzzy black cat statue :-)
ReplyDeletehaha...well, she is right there beside Garden Girl!
Deleteshe is gorgeous. it is tough to get a good shot of a black dog or kitty. Those kitties are lucky to have such a pretty yard

DeleteLove the photo of Velvet framed against the trees and fence . . . . :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't she pretty there? I loved the way it turned out.
DeleteYes . . . she is quite a poser, isn't she? . . . . :)
DeleteShe's lovely, Betsy.
ReplyDeleteIsn't she? Slowly but surely she's warming up to me. I'm not giving up on her! I touched her tail this week...boy, did I get the evil eye! ha.
DeleteLooks just like my Mongo AKA The Batcat.
ReplyDeleteDistant cousins, perhaps? :) Oh wait...you live next door! First cousins! haha.
DeleteVelvet is a beauty!
ReplyDeleteIsn't she? She's always so serious, though!
DeleteAnd soft enough to melt your heart!! xx
