The First Little Leaf

Looks like some little bird has decorated the feeder
with the first fall decor.  It's hot and muggy today, just
like August is supposed to be.  But my purple crab apple
is showing just a few orange leaves today.

  10. That's a real pretty photo Betsy, a nice view out of your window. It's hot and humid here too in Northern Virginia and it rained all day today, but it was a nice soft rain. I know the gardens are just loving it. Enjoy your week :)

  12. Love this photo – foreshadowing of what’s to come, but still the lovely summer green in the background. Hot and humid here today too… and for the next while it seems. Ugh.
I used to play and sing Autumn Leaves – rather melancholy but so beautiful. Here are two versions if you would like to have a listen:

  13. It's not the first leaf dropping that worries me, it's when the last leaf drops that bothers me!

Here the weather is sunny, but cold. My outside thermometer has registered 18 C (65 F) in the shade for the last few days. Betsy, you know what the cold does to me, say no more!

    1. We don't have the nip this week, but we seem to have had it most of the summer!
