What I Did Wednesday #34

Remember this series I used to do?
Except I photographed all of my doings for the day.
I started working auctions on Wednesdays and the series
just didn't fit any longer!  Well, I happened to think of it
today and at least recorded what I did, even if
not all by photographs.

So, here's what I did on this lovely day at home...

  • Painted my 10 toenails a bright, happy red.
  • Made yummy Cornbread Salad with 9 tasty layers.
  • Photographed 8 more items to go in the shop.
  • Watered 7 pots of flowers.
  • Vacuumed 6 rooms.
  • Did 5 loads of laundry.
  • Picked 4 cups of strawberries.
  • Packaged up 3 Etsy sales.
  • Cleaned 2 bathrooms.
  • Made 1 big pan of chocolate chip bar cookies.
Did you have a nice day?
T & L come for dinner...always a highlight to our week!

Let's see, laundry, some cleaning, flower dead heading, some weeding.

Its overcast and misty but it felt nice to be outside anyway :)

    3. Well, good for you! Those are the best kind of weeks. I had two stressful days this week and today was supposed to be gone and I rearranged my schedule so I could relax and be at home. I'm so glad I did!

  2. Wow- you've been busy. Cute photos. Another sign of summer days ahead is to paint up our toe-nails. :) I see your friend has tucked his away so I guess we'll have to wait to admire them.

  3. I made two hand-painted birthday cards using watercolors, and I managed to letter them without making too much of mess, then posted them to my aged cousins Sally, in Adelaide, and the other one to Janet, in Montreal. They are twins but married over 40 years ago and separated.

    1. How very nice! I hope you took photos of them before sending them out! That is really something for twins to separate like that!
I bet they love your custom made cards!

  8. Like the feet and toes! . . . . and the colour.
They must danced you all over the place doing all those tasks.
I think we should call you Ms Dynamo.

Your work rate and sheer number of tasks you do put me to shame, but there again I am only a man!.
I was gardening all morning helping a friend
Then I did some dusting and vacuuming and then outside to do some of my garden.
Plus a bit of blogging and writing. :)

    6. Yes . . . I'd almost forgotten what it was like the old fashioned way they wrote things,
not quite the same today sadly :)

  9. Cute red toes! And hopefully Cocoa didn't rub or nuzzle them before they were dry! What a busy day you had. I was on the phone for several hours with Revenue Canada (our IRS) to try and get a few things sorted and just ended up more confused. Now I am heading out to the post office and drug store to run some errands, then laundry tonight!

    1. Ugh....I hate that kind of phone work. You must be exhausted!

    2. It's frustrating. Several times during the call I am at the point where I think everything is understood and then he/she will say something that makes me think, "What? Have you just heard what I have said?" Fortunately I had a very nice woman yesterday but there were still more questions than answers. I have to phone back today. Sigh. I did get all the other errands done though... but not laundry!

  12. This is a good post. I doubt I could come up with the same numbers, but I did have a more productive day than some recent ones.
We're having a nice rain now and I am satisfied that at least the grass around the house has been mowed.

  13. Hi Betsy- Love this post 'cause I'm nosy and love to hear how other people spend their days ;)

Let's see . . . today I added three more stones to the garden path I'm constructing by hand; I did dishes, laundry and ironed two dresses and an apron; I read a chapter for my book group tonight, got the salmon marinating for dinner, let my cats in and out about a hundred times and the Oldest and I just hauled a HUGE old bookshelf upstairs to it's new home in my bedroom! Now on to dinner and afterwards my book group!

    1. Nice day! You were busy! No cat flap for you? Once we installed one, I don't know how we lived without it!

The big bookshelf sounds amazing! Pictures! Pictures! :)

      Delete
  14. No, we don't have a cat flap for two reasons . . . 1. My cats are too stupid to use it (we installed one in the garage years ago and gave up after a week of tempting them through with treats and such) and 2. My house is very old and I just don't have a good spot in the house where it wouldn't ruin the old woodwork/doors . . . and so, my fur-bosses get the royal treatment much to my chagrin ;)

Yes- I'll try to get some pictures taken when I can. I'm very excited, but now having to arrange my entire house due to it!

    1. We didn't let the flaps down for almost 2 weeks! Then one flap came down and they had such trouble...more than I thought they would. But within another 2 weeks they got it. Ours is in the wall...not a door.

  15. You don't need all the pics...we can imagine (and be exhausted just reading!). I'm glad to hear someone else does their own pedi's. I used to go for them but heck...it's expensive!! The cornbread salad sounds outstanding...do you think you might share it in an upcoming post?

    XO,
    Jane

I love professional pedi's ...so very fun...but they are a treat and I usually do my own....yes, free is good. ha.

  20. Hi Betsy - well you certainly use your time effectively .. and what an added extra that T and L came over for dinner - puts a little extra dollop of cream on the top ..

It is gorgeous here today - so later on I'm going to see the sea and have a walk along our cracking Downs and a cup of tea at the new geology centre to show how much the sea has worn away the land! Happy days to you too .. cheers Hilary
