Last night one of these rolled off the stool and
onto my foot!  I was scooting them over and
they got a little too close to the edge!
I elevated it and put a bag of
frozen blueberries on it for a while.
Nothing seemed broken and we were about to
leave for a business dinner.  I tried out my heels
and they felt fine, surprisingly, so off we went.

Being off of it while sleeping really helped the swelling.
Now it's just a little tender and a little ugly. ha.
I slept late, took some Advil, and enjoyed some extra
time in bed with my iPad and a cup of coffee.

Slate gave my toes a little kiss....

and made sure I wasn't lonely.

I feel better already.
Thanks, sweet kitty.

That bruise does detract from my pretty pedicure, though,
don't you think?  I have to tell you that I laughed so many
times at my Spring Fun To Do List, as my eye would catch,
"get a sandal worthy pedicure" and my mind would read,
"get a scandal worthy pedicure" !!!  LOL!  If I did that once,
I did it 50 times this spring.  Not sure what kind of
pedicure you'd have to get to cause a scandal, but
obviously, my subconscious wanted one!  ha.

    1. Ouch ouch ouch!! That does not sound friendly. I am glad that you are resting up and that it is getting better, pretty extreme way to remember to have some relaxing time though, try something less drastic next time please! Your pedi looks lovely, and made me think that I really most do something about my feet and toes, they are still in hiding in boots winter mode! Hope that you are OK. xx

    2. Brian ~ 25 lbs? haha...yeah, mine are girly weights for sure. I would need two hands to lift one of yours! But any heavier and it would have been worse for my foot. ha..

    3. Amy ~ Yes, you need to pretty up your feet and dig out the sandals! Although, it's cold and rainy here today, so mine are snug in socks and slippers. haha.

  2. Oh OUCH!! The silver lining...a beautiful set of toes, and little grey fur paw to comfort you. I'm going this after noon for a pedicure...Really need it bad.

    2. Your toes influenced me...I sporting pretty bright pink toes right now!!! That exactly what my dearest said...Honey you deserve some pampering. I'll tell you renting from your Aunt was a piece of cake...move in and pay rent. To rent from a company...yikes I was in property management for 20 years, and we didn't require half as much as they did. Don laughed and said it is easier to get out of prison, than rent an apartment. HaHa. But things are looking good. We should know for sure in a few days.

    3. I'm so excited for you...for your toes and the apartment! Take a picture of your feet and let us all oooh and ahh! lol....

  3. That Slate is pretty much purrfect. Love how his little paws are mimicking your feet. Glad the weight didn't hit your toes. I once had a 20 oz. glass bottle of iced tea fall from the child's seat in a grocery cart directly onto my big toe. That did me in for weeks. Lynne in NC

Your pedicure looks lovely and love the colour of your nail paint..Slate is a caring cute boy..loved the way he stretched out his paws and tried to give company to you..<3

    1. I know...his outstretched legs by mine just cracked me up!

I had those frozen blueberries on there within seconds. I'm sure it helped a lot with the bleeding and swelling. It isn't often I have to do first aid on myself! haha.

I do hate how bruises turn colors as they heal.
I'm sure it will look worse before it looks better!
But it really doesn't hurt! Blueberries helped. lol...
      and Slate. :)

  7. You poor thing!! Fancy that weight falling on your pretty foot - good job it wasn't a much heavier one. It does look inflamed and might take a while to heal fully but I am sure the frozen Blueberries helped a lot initially.
As an ex Ambulanceman I would just loved to have kissed it better for you but that might indeed have caused a scandal LOL . . . . . so well done Slate for a job well done. Otherwise, what lovely nails you have there and love the colour - are you intending having a cometition with Linda?

    ReplyDelete

    1. haha...no, Linda would win!

If you kissed all the boo boos to make them better while you were an ambulance man, then you probably did cause some scandals! haha.

    2. Oh and the nails would go very well with the red wellies! ROFL (duck Edddie)

      Delete
    3. Why yes, they do! But they wouldn't be seen if I had my wellies on! They need to make wellies with holes for our toes! haha.

    4. Oh! I see - or rather I don't see!! LOL. Seriously I like the colour and finish very much.

    5. Silly man. :) I'm just glad I'm such a wimp and only have 5 lbs weights. If I lifted 25 lb ones, my foot would be in a cast. How irritating that would be! I wonder if they'd let my toes show in a cast so I wouldn't waste my pedicure. lol....

  10. OW! If there's any silver lining in the story it's that the weight didn't fall on your toes. I bet it would have broken THEM.

    1. I know! I was worried about those thin little bones on top of our feet, but they wiggle fine. I would have really hated to have my foot in a cast. ugh!

    1. I stayed in bed until noon! haha....I played on my iPad and had breakfast and coffee...and the company of a few kitties. It was wonderful!
It's getting a little sore tonight, but I've been on it 8 hours now. It hasn't swollen any more so I think it's good!

  13. Ouch to that
Good thing nothing was broken at your mat
That could lead to a scandal indeed
The case of the possessed weight at your feed
When really it was the tighty whity neighbor who did it
He used invisible string to make it hit
So you'd want to soothe your feet in the sink
And he could watch and give a wink
    Case solved at my sea
Good for Slate to stay with thee

    1. Oh gee, I laughed out loud.
Hope his view was obscured by a cloud!
      No soaking in the sink...
just propped it up on my desk since it was pink.
      If that was his plan,
      the weird man,
      then it certainly failed,
      causing him to wail.
You know all about weird neighbors
      who ask for amazing favors.
      hahaha....
And wasn't Slate a cute kitty
stretching out like that beside me?
Didn't want me to be lonely
as I browsed a bit on Etsy.
      lol....

in some sick way he'd probably like it!

    4. $6.59 for a 7.5 oz tube. I bet that's less expensive than you pay...I noticed it's made here in Arnica, Montana. Next etsy order I'll have to send you a tube!

      Delete
    5. Holy cow - that's much less expensive. Mine (when it's on sale) is $17.49 for 70 grams (2.5 ounces) and it's regularly $23.99. And yours is almost three times the size for $6.59? What a difference! Sigh.
