They are a sucker or lollipop with a tootsie roll in the middle. (chocolate). And yes, they come in different flavors. The owl is the Tootsie Pop mascot, so that is the connection. And Spencer loves them. It's the only candy he eats. And it's been a long standing joke on this blog to show how he eats several at once, like the photo shows. :)
Thanks for the background! Spencer is quite a character isn't he! He is definately more prominent than his brothers. Late to the party tonight - have been writing. Do the other boys like Tootsie Pops as well?
So do they like travelling on trains with you or is it model trains they like? I've still got my train set when I was a kid!! Poor Jonathan missed out because I forgot I had it! Maybe Peter can have it and Jon will enjoy it as well.
Interesting! Near us about 3 miles away is a place called Bitton and some amateur enthusiasts have restored some old steam engines and they are great working along some old railway lines.
Well talking about steam! I've run out of it! LOL Just written a post and that's me lot! Goon night!
We took the boys on a train ride and to visit some train museums last summer and they loved it! Maybe some day we'll do a longer trip on a train where you sleep and dine on it, too. They would like that, I think! ;)
Now look here! I just switched the computer on because I had a 'positive' hunch that a lass from Ohio might have to sat something! And she did!! Not a negative cell in her blood! Seriously I bet you wonder what your blood group is. Was there no mention of it when you had the kids?
Oh, maybe...but that was decades ago! :) I'm sure it's on my medical chart at the doctor's office. No negative cells here! How ironic if my blood type was negative! lol....
Do you know that I don't think anyone would even bat an eyelid if you announced that a fleet of owls was moving in with you! However, Spencer eating 4 lollies at once, well, that has us in stitches! He must love them - lollies, not owls!
You inspired me to look up Tootsie Pops on Wikipedia. There have been studies by students at Cambridge and Harvard, among other places, to try to answer the question of how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop. I'm guessing that Spencer, like most of us, bites into the center long before it would take to keep licking to the center.
I remember as a kid doing it and it took 369 licks! haha. I wonder if that's typical. And Spencer rarely bites them. He eats them down to almost nothing and then saves the sticks in a row in his bedroom. Ugh. lol....
Betsy, I was wondering if this was a picture or you actually have owls! I read the other comments and figured it out. Spencer picked a good snack to like - Tootsie Pops are pretty good. Will there be some in his Easter basket? Read your sidebar. - I am liking the snow, too.
:) too funny!
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh. Of course, he's used to this zoo. He probably wouldn't blink if a flock of owls waltzed through the house. :)
Deletethats so cute, well done!
ReplyDeleteI just couldn't resist when I found that picture! :)
DeleteOwls of laughter!! LOL
ReplyDeleteReally good and funny!
I can honestly say I've never tasted or seen a Tootsie Pop!
Are they nice? and do they come in different flavours?

Ha,Ha.. Does Spencer eat three at a time, or is it a Mickey Mouse Tootsie pop? What a cute expressions. This was really fun!!
ReplyDeleteI should have read your reply above.... I would have the answer...three at a time!!! That's even funnier.
DeleteYes, three or more! Before he eats them down, it's hard to get the bunch in his mouth. Oh dear. What a sight. haha.
DeleteCute!
ReplyDeleteI thought so! :)
