- A nuthatch and a nutty boy.
- Black kitties, red veggies.
- Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Or all of your cats!
- Snow today. I actually found a shutter speed slow enough to capture the falling flakes! Still not quite in focus, though. ha.
- Slate. The most affectionate, considerate and appreciative stray ever.
Lovely photos, and beautiful cats. I just changed my cover photo on FB with a new shot of our Prudie, ( one of two recent Humane Society rescues). We lost our 20 year old Gilbert just before Christmas, and our 15 year old boy, Red of kidney disease just a month ago. There's also a new album with some laundry basket hi-jinks.
ReplyDeleteI remembered that you lost your Gilbert. Aw. I'm sorry! I haven't lost a cat in a while but I didn't take it too well when our original two died.
DeleteAll of mine are rescues...so glad you did that for your new pets, too! :)
Fun This and That. You have such a wonderful variety of birds and colors. That little nuthatch is adorable. Love your nutty boy...how sweet. I miss my cats every time you share yours. I wonder if Molly would like a kitty to play with??? Look at that snow. Nice shots. Cooler here today...rain on the forecast tomorrow, do my dearest and I took in all the cushions from the patio table in the back yard.
ReplyDeleteWhy do I forget to buy radishes... I do love them and they look so bright and healthy in your pictures. Have a great day dear friend.
Nutty boy was sick yesterday. Well, just a head cold. He laid in bed and looked out the window in the afternoon waiting for the bus to bring his brothers home. Aw. They really do love to be together.
DeleteI just started eating radishes this year. I had never bought them before!. haha. I love them...and these were so huge they looked like beets! ha.
We had some snow here in KY today as well. No more snow! I am protesting! lol
ReplyDeleteI knew we weren't done!
Deletesnow here today as well...5 inches...oh my....
ReplyDeletemy cat is pretty much decided not to move til spring...he laid on the edge of the couch all day...
lol
5 inches? Wow...so you had the day off, I'm sure.
DeleteMy cats still like to run and play in the snow but they do huddle inside when the sun goes down.
Then we say, "How did we get all these cats??" haha.
Great photos, once again. Are these with your new camera? The nuthatch is extraordinary. And oooohhhhhh, I do want Slate to snuggle with!
ReplyDeleteMarmalade is with the new camera. Can you tell? More pixels...clearer photo. The snow is, but it's not a good quality photo....I'll still be learning for weeks! :)
DeleteYes - I wondered about the Marmalade one. But I also thought birdie was too. See - I have no eye for this sort of thing! I just think they all look great.
DeleteHello Suza
DeleteHi Eddie... I think I signed out as you were signing on... hope you both are enjoying your Wednesday!
DeleteYour photos are peaceful and quiet. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure when I will get a peaceful, quiet day but maybe tomorrow afternoon I can catch a little before my grandchildren show up.
Love the falling snow. I need to learn how to do that.
:0)
If you have an S setting go to that and slow it down to 1/5 or 1/10. That should do it!
DeleteOkay. Now do I wish for snow or not?
DeleteOh, it looks like we might get some tomorrow. Maybe I should charge my camera battery.
DeleteI was just about to say that you don't need to wish...I'm sure we aren't done with the snow!
DeleteOh, and if that shutter speed doesn't work, experiment. I went up to 1/500 and down from there just to see what happened.
DeleteIt didn't snow at my house today and now I am too tied to even think about taking pictures.
DeleteAh, well, we all know snow is likely even in April in upstate NY.
I had that crazy blizzard around 3:30today....crazeeeee!
ReplyDeleteLovely shots....I especially like Slate♥️
Enjoy your evening...
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Ps...I love radishes too...I like to slice them thinly and add to Ceasar Salad....yummy!
It was a little weird...the sun was shining at the same time!
DeleteI've been eating the radishes as a snack with a little veggie dip. Yum!
Fabulous shot of the nuthatch
ReplyDeleteSon waking up! My Mum used to come into the bedroom and say, "Wake Up" Get Up! and "Shut Up!"
Great shots of the cats - Slate looks very happy - obviously you have passed the test and he has adopted you.
A little snow descends I see.
Oh and I LOVE raddishes
DeleteYour mom knew you were a chatterbox way back then! haha.
DeleteGuess she did!! I had a very happy childhood and that's probably why I like to live a fun life. Someone asked me at dinner how long I had been giing blood and I replied, "Since about 1485" It just came out and eveyone laughed!
DeleteBut I used to be a very shy young man, can you believe that?
1485? And did you get some kind of senior citizen's discount back then? haha....
DeleteMore like my head chopped off!
Deleteat least now you just go to jail. :)
DeleteJust seen from the other comments that Spencer is somewhat better. So pleased he is and hope he improves fully soon.
DeleteThanks, Ed. He's back to 'school'...it was just a cold. He had to share it with me, though, sweet boy that he is. haha.
DeleteGreat shot of the snow - you seem to be getting the hang of the camera!!!! Love the idea of too many cats in one basket, you would need a pretty enormous basket to get all of yours in!! I think that you should stick to eggs in a basket although the cats do seem to love them too. Hope that Spencer is feeling better, Slate certainly seems to be! xx
ReplyDeleteSpencer is a little better...just a runny nose. But he doesn't blow his nose, which makes the whole situation yucky. He likes to use his hand or sleeve....which makes his skin raw. Oh my. ha.
DeleteLovely pictures and special love the nutty boy:))
ReplyDeleteHe stayed home yesterday with a cold. :)
DeleteYes how he feel today?
DeleteHe's better today and went to 'school'. :)
DeleteGood:)
DeleteSo thrilled to see more precious pictures of Slate--especially today since I received some bad news regarding the health of a close friend. Wish I could cuddle with him. He really has found his forever home. Lynne, NC
ReplyDeleteHi Lynne! I'm so sorry to hear about your friend...sending prayers and hugs your way!
DeleteOh boy...this Slate is a keeper. He has the perfect everything...looks, demeanor, personality. Even his meow is soft and sweet. Maybe he can teach my Jack a thing or two (he's the rascal for sure....well, he and Cocoa. haha.).
lol even after the snip snip
ReplyDeleteAnd the awful vet trip
He is a happy camper at your sea
Everywhere you look there is a kitty
We are getting tons of your fav snow
Want me to ship some to eat at your show?
I heard you were getting a ton, too!
DeleteSo much pretty white in view!
Go on and make snow ice cream.
It won't kill you..that's just a dream!
hahaha....
haha well that I can eat
DeleteBut germs from the street
Or what is in the snow
From getting evaporated years ago
Blah to that
At my mat
The OCD's won't let you eat
Deletefor what a vapor might excrete.
lol...
I love your furry friends! The snow pictures are great...I am at a loss on how to get those flakes. I hope your classes are going well!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
two words...shutter speed!
DeleteLooks like Mr Slate has made himself at home! So sad to think he has been deprived of cuddles and affection for however long he has been living on the streets. He looks totally relaxed and content on your lap. Are all the cats getting on well with each other?
ReplyDeleteKathy from Tasmania
I can't believe he survived our winter with so much snow and terribly frigid temperatures! He looks so healthy now. Makes me happy!
DeleteThe cats do remarkably get along! There is always some kind of initiation of a new one...lol....but then everyone settles down. There is a hiss and a slap occasionally, but they are usually curled up together or licking each other's face. Quite sweet, really.
DeleteCan I quote you about trivial stuff?
ReplyDeletehaha...absolutely. It's a Betsy original. lol....
DeleteLiving creatures fascinate me! More so when it responses with lots of purring.Great pics, Betsy! Your pics show lots of dedication that you've given them.
ReplyDeleteHank
Well, thanks Hank! I have lots of living creatures here. That's why I call it the zoo. :)
DeleteVery nice mixture of topics and photos! I bet, you are a diligent student at your workshop! And I am so glad for sweet Slate. It seems he was not only in desperate need of a home but also in search of tenderness and affection! And, dear Betsy, as I look at that peaceful picture of the totally relaxed cat on your lap, I dare say, that your relationship is so good for both of you!!! There can never be too much love and affection in one's life!
ReplyDeleteLove to you and your beautiful 'Earl Grey'
Christel
Earl Grey...oh what a grand name that would have been! I love it! The Mister named Slate. I'm not particularly fond of it, but once it was chosen, it's hard to change it! haha. Next Grey tom that makes his way to our home will be Earl Grey. :) Yes, you can never have enough love or affection. He's good for me, too!
DeleteLovely pictures Betsy and love to the nutty boy..hope he gets well soon..
ReplyDeleteThanks so much...he's much better already! Now I wonder if the others will catch it!
DeleteLove all your kitties - they make me want to be a cat, I just fancy snuggling up like that in a basket or on someone's knee! Cosy.
