    1. haha,...no, silly! They've been teaching me! Great fun to watch. I always root for the birds, though. You know this week, one bird lost, and they brought the poor thing in through the cat flap. Bad cats! lol....

    2. The area I live in is so rough that the birds hunt the cats.

    3. wow! Have you ever lost your hat to one? lol...

That reminds me.... some of the stray cats we had as little kittens, I kept inside until they were too big for a hawk to carry away.

  2. and when you realize your 'human' is watching....walk away non-chalant like you were not really going ot do anything...lol...that would be my cat....smiles.....

    1. ha...no, mine don't do that! They look at me as if to say, "What?! This is who we are! This is what we do! And here..I brought you a special prize!" lol....

    2. Actually the cats don't bring you a present, that,s a fallacy. They bring you the bird, mouse or whatever, for you to pluck, or skin and cook for them!

    3. Oh, is that how it goes? lol... Some of my cats are nicer than others. Some bring the whole thing to me, some only bring parts and some swallow the things whole and don't share at all!

    6. Yeah, I don't usually try to get tan, since it really isn't' good for you...but it's impossibly not to get a little! I get freckles on my face! ha.

  6. OK, now I think you should start a comic strip for the local newspaper. That is so very cute and funny... I love to hear what cat's are thinking...toooooo cute.

    2. Do they manage to catch many birds?
I think Samantha might be slowed down by the snow but might be wrong.
Love the way you bubble the photos. Have you a special program for doing that?

      Delete
    3. Well, let's see...I guess in the three years I've had these cats they have caught maybe 5-6 birds. Probably that many mice, too. So, not many I guess. They do try a lot. Shadow is the best at it...he leaps and catches them in the air in his mouth! I've seen him twice do that. The snow does slow them down....makes it hard to run fast when you're paws sink with each step. ha. Most are content just to watch the bird feeder from the window, in the comfort of a warm home. Jack does that. He still does the proper body language and wiggles his tail. lol....

    4. oh..the speech bubbles...you can do that with picmonkey.com. Fun photo editing!

    5. Gosh! Shadow seems a very athletic cat.
Yes, hunting is in bred in all cats, just like their big cousins on Safari. Do your's hunt working together sometimes like a pride of lions?
Hey, talking of which have a look at this miraculous escape of a baby buffalo - fantastic footage.

    6. Oh my...that video was quite amazing! Strength in numbers, huh! Love how they all got together and came back!

Yes, Shadow is quite the pro. His mother is like that...she was catching birds while she was pregnant and I happened to see her in my yard a lot. Then it rained...poured rain for 3 days straight and there weren't any birds out...she was starving! That's when I started to feed her...and the rest is history. ha. But my cats don't hunt in a pack like those lions. And they don't like to share their catch, either. lol...

    7. I doubt whether they run across mad buffalo bulls either lol

    8. I have never seen a buffalo flip a lion into the air! ha.

    9. Yes incredible the whole video.
It is remarkable how the buffaloes seemed to pluck up courage to return to try to rescue the calf. If they had that courage right at the start the lions would never have dared to attack with such a determined and formidable herd in front of them standing their ground. But what occurred was the dominant bull taking fright and the whole herd followed him. And the crocodile tug a war also was an unexpected feature. I posted this on my blog a few years ago and got some interesting comments. Anyway, hope you had a great w/e and say again I loved your post about Samantha and her efforts to ambush a bird or two. I bet she gave it up after a while and came in for a plate of KityCat or something or a bowl of milk.

    10. Oh, yeah....she gave up and came in. :) But she was back at it today...she was climbing a pine tree near the trunk..straight up the branches like rungs on a ladder. Hilarious.

  8. Do your cats shake their butts right before they pounce? Most of the cats I've known do!

  9. Very good, Betsy...
How long did the photoshoot take?
Hopefully....no birds were injured during the shoot! Hahaha!

  10. haha good tips indeed
Ready to pounce at top speed
Orlin would be a dunce though
And just hop to and fro
Cassie wouldn't like the snow on her head
So the birds here are safe from ending up dead

    1. Samantha says to tell your cats
what pansies they are, she'd beat them flat.
      haha.
      Actually, she'd lick their faces.
She's the little sis and dotes on cats in all places.
      lol...

    2. lol Orlin would let her lick
Cassie would run as her ocd would think it's sick

    3. She's probably have a crush on Orlin
      and call him Darlin'. lol....

  11. Hee-hee! Even though I love this, I am still rooting for the birdies. Don't want any carnage! Amazing how they hunker down in the cold snow and don't mind a bit.

    1. I root for the birdies, too! And I knock on the window to make the birds fly if I think a cat is about to get them! haha...Those cats are well fed inside! Geesh! haha.

  15. I love this! Your cat and mine would get along to a tee- except, perhaps not as they would have to share the birds. ;)
