Lists

I was out and about today and picked up a new little
journal for myself.  I like the cover, and that it has a
magnetic closure to protect the lined pages.

I'm a list girl!  Lots of lists.  ha. They keep me organized and
motivated!  And they record my dreams and progress.  The only thing
more fun than making lists is crossing things off the lists! haha.

I had a lot of fun making Fun To Do lists for the past two
seasons and after taking a break in December for the holidays,
I'm ready to make a Winter Fun To Do List!

  1. organize my sweaters, donate ones I don't wear
  2. buy some new woolly socks
  3. try a new flavor of hot chocolate
  4. make a meal of comfort food
  5. make bread from scratch
  6. watch the snow flakes fall
  7. do my annual snow flake post
  8. make peanut butter suet for the birds
  9. give my hands a 'facial'
  10. soak in a hot bubble bath
  11. shop the holiday clearance shelves
  12. continue to think healthy...water, weights, walking
  13. change my foyer table and chalkboard to a winter theme
  14. fill out my 2014 calendar
  15. make inside s'mores
  16. put a tissue pack and lip balm in all my coat pockets
  17. stock the jeep with water, snack, hand warmers, blanket
  18. make snow ice cream
  19. organize the coat closet
  20. bake gingerbread

  5. I like your winter list. I'm not sure if I'll make a winter one or not. With it being so crazy around here the last few weeks, I haven't even had a chance to think about a to-do list. Maybe that means I need one more than I think.

I would like to peruse a few antique shops, bake a few pies, and take a walk in the falling snow.

  6. I really like all of your ideas on your Fun Winter List. Especially keeping those coat pockets stocked with tissues and chapstick. So much easier to grab than fishing one out of your purse. And I always warn my kids to have water and blankets in their cars, even if we live in the city. As far as the fun stuff, always wanted to make the snow ice cream and we have plenty of ingredients!! :)

I've never made snow ice cream either,...or gingerbread! Not the cookies...the bread...or it's really like a snack cake.

  8. I as well am a lister! It is a well-established fact that people who are list makers are more organized, productive and goal-oriented. That suits you to a T! Non-list makers tend to be procrastinators, forgetful, and not as productive. What a sorry lot they are! Oh, I'm sure to ruffle some feathers with that last bit! I better run before I'm run off! (smiling)

    Later, lovely lister! Haha.

  10. Another great list for the season Betsy! You have some great things on there. Now, about this hot chocolate flavour, may I be so bold as to make a suggestion! It depends on whether or not you drink alcohol or not, so apologies if you don't, but a splash of brandy and possibly another splash of gingerbread flavour syrup that you add to your coffee - amazing!! Obviously do not drink this and then drive folks! (I'm a safety bunny!). Enjoy whatever you get up to. xx

Cross them off and put them to bed
Add a new one or two
And it keeps going on forever at my zoo
    But one thing though
Why is it called a facial at your show
    When it is for hands?

It may be a little OCD
so I'm surprised you don't agree!

    3. Me, too! My living room walls are purple! ha.

    4. Purple walls! I am impressed. I don't think I noticed that in your Christmas pics - I will have to go back and look. I would love purple walls... but my place is narrow and everything is white to keep it more open. But I have always had the urge to do at least one wall in a dramatic colour. Maybe this will be the year.

    5. They are a light shade with grey undertones. But still obviously purple. ha. My family room walls are cobalt blue! haha..but they need repainted and will be something different as soon as I get around to doing that room. :)

    6. Cobalt blue! Lovely. Another of my favourite colours but have never had it on a wall. I seem to have gathered a lot of cobalt blue glass items over the years. Something very mystical about that colour in glass. Enjoy your blog-free weekend! xo

    2. I think I'm making myself sound better than I am. Actually it's squares of Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner....but I'm only filling in the dinners, so I don't repeat myself too often, and can remember what I made last week. I trying to be more creative than repeating the same things each week, but in different order! HaHa. We eat a lot of fish and chicken, so looking for more ways to fix them. Last night Jon (13) spent the night so we had taco's and made cookies. Fun!

    3. I've seen some women on blogs do 30 day plans! I think I like to just keep the freezer and frig stocked and then make when I have time for and what sounds good. I do decide the day before, though and posting it on my sidebar makes me accountable to at least plan one day ahead. ha. Although, I have been known to change my mind when it comes time to make dinner. lol....

  24. Betsy I was wondering about your to-do list. I was disappointed you didn't have a summer picnic, maybe this year. Have your bulbs bloomed that you started inside?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Sorry to disappoint you. But the lists are just fun ideas and I don't put any pressure on myself to complete each one. The picnic was the one thing that involved the most effort on my part and the least fun for my boys. I was skeptical it would happen when I wrote it down, and I didn't really push for it to become reality.

The bulbs have sprouted to about 1" tall. They are taking their good old time!

Show this gal likes to keep herself busy.
    She jots down a list
So not one thing is missed
And she won't scream and yell in a tizzy.

She gives herself so much to do
You'd think she might end in a stew
But she ticks off each item
    With ease ad infinitum
Then rewards herself with coffee brew.

'cause not one item will she forget.
