I was out and about today and picked up a new little
journal for myself. I like the cover, and that it has a
magnetic closure to protect the lined pages.
I'm a list girl! Lots of lists. ha. They keep me organized and
motivated! And they record my dreams and progress. The only thing
more fun than making lists is crossing things off the lists! haha.
I had a lot of fun making Fun To Do lists for the past two
seasons and after taking a break in December for the holidays,
I'm ready to make a Winter Fun To Do List!
- organize my sweaters, donate ones I don't wear
- buy some new woolly socks
- try a new flavor of hot chocolate
- make a meal of comfort food
- make bread from scratch
- watch the snow flakes fall
- do my annual snow flake post
- make peanut butter suet for the birds
- give my hands a 'facial'
- soak in a hot bubble bath
- shop the holiday clearance shelves
- continue to think healthy...water, weights, walking
- change my foyer table and chalkboard to a winter theme
- fill out my 2014 calendar
- make inside s'mores
- put a tissue pack and lip balm in all my coat pockets
- stock the jeep with water, snack, hand warmers, blanket
- make snow ice cream
- organize the coat closet
- bake gingerbread
Once again, you have your work cut out for you! Good luck... but I know you don't need it!
ReplyDeleteI like the journal, too!
DeleteWork? Oh no, Silver...that's another list entirely! This is the fun list! :)
DeleteOH BETSY...lists speak to me in ways that only a fellow list lover can KNOW. I LOVE THEM and relish the different ones that keep me organized on a practical AND creative level!!!! OH YES! I am checking off my January CLEAN OUT list now...love ticking each item off. THEN, on to some serious spring cleaning and spruce ups!
ReplyDeleteYour new journal is VERY pretty!
I haven't even gotten to my annual January clean out! It's the Urge to Purge! It's hitting me a little late...must have been those extra snow days. ha.
DeleteLists are good! I wish I were better at them! Maybe I should just take a leap of making one and sticking to it!!
ReplyDeleteI do journal thoughts and inspirations which I enjoy going back and reading :)
DeletePeople either love or hate lists. haha. Journaling I don't really do....it's all in my head where nobody else can read it. lol....
Deleteyour journal is lovely, i like the idea of the closure,
ReplyDeletelists are my friend as well, in fact the post I'm doing next is all about lists, lol! I love your list of "Want to's" its a great fun winter themed list!
Laurie the List Lady! haha. Can't wait to read your post...we will love our lists together! :)
DeleteI like your winter list. I'm not sure if I'll make a winter one or not. With it being so crazy around here the last few weeks, I haven't even had a chance to think about a to-do list. Maybe that means I need one more than I think.
ReplyDeleteI would like to peruse a few antique shops, bake a few pies, and take a walk in the falling snow.
making lists makes me feel like I have a little more control of the chaos. ha.
DeleteI haven't even taken down my Christmas tree! lol....
The tree is out and the grandkids are in... at least part time, along with the daddy. (Keep praying.)
Deleteok :)
DeleteI really like all of your ideas on your Fun Winter List. Especially keeping those coat pockets stocked with tissues and chapstick. So much easier to grab than fishing one out of your purse. And I always warn my kids to have water and blankets in their cars, even if we live in the city. As far as the fun stuff, always wanted to make the snow ice cream and we have plenty of ingredients!! :)
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
I have read the pocket and car emergency stuff for years and haven't done either of them! They're easy enough to do...just need to get it done!
DeleteI've never made snow ice cream either,...or gingerbread! Not the cookies...the bread...or it's really like a snack cake.
I love that you put necessary jobs and fun things on the same list. I must try the same, it's more motivating.
ReplyDeletehaha...well, actually I thought of all of those as fun. I have a list of true winter chores, which involve cleaning out all closets, steam cleaning the carpets, ...you know. REAL work. ha.
DeleteI as well am a lister! It is a well-established fact that people who are list makers are more organized, productive and goal-oriented. That suits you to a T! Non-list makers tend to be procrastinators, forgetful, and not as productive. What a sorry lot they are! Oh, I'm sure to ruffle some feathers with that last bit! I better run before I'm run off! (smiling)
ReplyDeleteLater, lovely lister! Haha.
Vincent xo
Uh oh...you better run fast, fellow lister! lol....That 'sorry lot' may catch you and take your lists away! ha.
DeleteI used to get lots of "To Do" lists - now I have to write my own.
ReplyDeletehaha...do you mean Honey Do lists? :) You know, I've never made one!...ever.
DeleteReally, Betsy!! . . . . . . how rare! I thought all you gals did that!! But seriously the list of jobs were always agreed first lol.
DeleteI'm driving my Dial-A-Ride bus tomorrow which will be nice so I must get some shut eye nut I am not tired so may stay around a while blogging.
Aren't they all serious tonight!! LOL
yeah, I think you're right...most do! But I always hated waiting and can usually do the stuff myself. I'm a little different, anyway. lol....
DeleteLucky riders on your bus tomorrow! :)
Jolly Journal Juxtaposes Jobs Justifiably Jotted
DeleteJeepers!!!
DeleteNot bad at all for the late hour there! lol.....
DeleteJanuary jottings just jaw-dropping jabber. haha.
You ARE a little different - and he is a lucky chap.
DeleteYes they are lucky passengers, aren't they? ROFL
He that's good alliteration and so quick!!
DeleteJolly Jolly
Just joshing with your jolly "J" jargon. haha.
DeleteAmbulance audience appreciates and applauds any amiable activities.
Golly - You do make me work hard!!! I am TRYING to get to bed!!!
DeleteHey, you're pretty good at this stuff. Let's see!
Eddie Emphatically Eliminates Eliciting Endless Editorials - Eventually Endeavoring Ending Editing!! EEEEK!
Gotta Go Goodnight!
haha....sweet dreams!
DeleteAnother great list for the season Betsy! You have some great things on there. Now, about this hot chocolate flavour, may I be so bold as to make a suggestion! It depends on whether or not you drink alcohol or not, so apologies if you don't, but a splash of brandy and possibly another splash of gingerbread flavour syrup that you add to your coffee - amazing!! Obviously do not drink this and then drive folks! (I'm a safety bunny!). Enjoy whatever you get up to. xx
ReplyDeleteI'm not opposed to a splash of alcohol in my hot chocolate! Sounds wonderful! I may have to try several new flavors, don't you think? haha..
DeleteOh no! I can see you working your way through your different drinks and favouring for days now! You will have to do a report for us!! xx
Deletehaha...oh no, not really. My liquor supply is only 2-3 bottles! haha. Not a great selection here.
Deleteah Betsy ! yous always make your lists:)
ReplyDeleteI never made one. Onlu the grocerry listb lol
maybe I have to make one!
yes, you should! I want to see one you make! :)
DeleteOk I will show you when I make lol
Deleteok :)
DeleteI love to make bread!!
ReplyDeleteI do, too! And I haven't made it in a long time...only rolls!
DeleteHi- I love lists too, and I really like what you have down on yours :)
ReplyDeleteA fun way to celebrate the season, don't you think? It can't all be work! ha.
DeleteDear Betsy, I do like lists, too. As soon as I have things transferred to my lists, my brain feels at ease and I can relax without being afraid of forgetting important issues. But I guess, I've never made up a 'fun to do list'. Maybe I should try that... I could just borrow some of your points ....
ReplyDeleteChristel
Yes, I think you should! You would add your own "charme" to it, too, and it would be wonderful!
Deleteyou would get along quite well with T
ReplyDeleteshe is all about her lists....
cool little journal,
she keeps one as well for her lists...ha
great minds, you know! :)
DeleteMy lists remain in my head
ReplyDeleteCross them off and put them to bed
Add a new one or two
And it keeps going on forever at my zoo
But one thing though
Why is it called a facial at your show
When it is for hands?
Hands have no face unless you get tattoos when joining a strange rock band
I like to write them down
Deleteonly in my brain would make me frown.
There is satisfaction in physically crossing them off
I know, that probably makes you scoff. ha.
It may be a little OCD
so I'm surprised you don't agree!
haha.
Not sure why it's called a facial either
might have to investigate to make you a believer.
ha.
haha not sure i'd believe that one
DeleteI on't have ocd for that under my sun
Plus I'd have to make the lines straight
That would just drive me irate
I will admit
Deleteto giving a hiss
and rewriting my list
if messy it gets.
lol....
What a lovely journal! I"m a list girl too!
ReplyDeleteMary x
You know, I could have guessed that! :)
DeleteI'm a list girl too, and I got a similar journal for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteOh, how fun! I'm not surprised you're a list girl! :)
DeleteLovely book♥️
ReplyDeleteI usually just use scraps of paper! Ha!
Perhaps I should treat myself to a beautiful book like that....
I think your list is absotively posolutely do-able....
I always clear out my summer clothes, while packing for the sunny south👣.....
Must get my crochet stuff in order, too....
Thanks for the inspiration, Betsy!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Why yes, you need a beautiful little book! :)
DeleteI think my list is very practical and doable! Some fun stuff on there!
Your winter list can include beach walks and suntan lotion! ha.
You got that right!
DeleteThe countdown is on!
Hope it warms up a wee bit down there......
Drive through Ohio and let me tag along, ok?
DeleteI don't think anyone here will miss me for a month.
Well...maybe. ha.
You are a list girl, ha! What is snow ice cream? Whatever it is, I think I want some. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, you need to make some with Kai! I've never made it but have always wanted to! You take snow, add sugar, vanilla, and whatever else and make ice cream with it. I need to look online for a recipe. You certainly have enough snow, you know? haha.
Deletebtw...we have more snow falling right now!
NOT a list girl at all... and Vince can... never mind. I won't respond to his "sorry lot" quip. But, Betsy, I love looking at the ones you put in the blog sidebar for various seasons. And your journal book is very pretty - makes me hopeful for those spring colours. I have a few with the magnetic covers as well and they feel so nice in the hand.
ReplyDeletehaha... I warned Vince!
DeleteMy journal does look rather springish, doesn't it? :) And purple is the 'in' color this year, I hear!
Good - because purple and green are my two favourite colours!
DeleteMe, too! My living room walls are purple! ha.
DeletePurple walls! I am impressed. I don't think I noticed that in your Christmas pics - I will have to go back and look. I would love purple walls... but my place is narrow and everything is white to keep it more open. But I have always had the urge to do at least one wall in a dramatic colour. Maybe this will be the year.
DeleteThey are a light shade with grey undertones. But still obviously purple. ha. My family room walls are cobalt blue! haha..but they need repainted and will be something different as soon as I get around to doing that room. :)
DeleteCobalt blue! Lovely. Another of my favourite colours but have never had it on a wall. I seem to have gathered a lot of cobalt blue glass items over the years. Something very mystical about that colour in glass. Enjoy your blog-free weekend! xo
DeleteBetsy, the cover looks like something you would draw. I love the subtle colors...beautiful. I made a few lists today, and a weekly menu planner.
ReplyDeleteha...it looks like something you would paint! :)
DeleteI've never done a weekly menu planner! That sounds ultra organized!
I think I'm making myself sound better than I am. Actually it's squares of Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner....but I'm only filling in the dinners, so I don't repeat myself too often, and can remember what I made last week. I trying to be more creative than repeating the same things each week, but in different order! HaHa. We eat a lot of fish and chicken, so looking for more ways to fix them. Last night Jon (13) spent the night so we had taco's and made cookies. Fun!
DeleteI've seen some women on blogs do 30 day plans! I think I like to just keep the freezer and frig stocked and then make when I have time for and what sounds good. I do decide the day before, though and posting it on my sidebar makes me accountable to at least plan one day ahead. ha. Although, I have been known to change my mind when it comes time to make dinner. lol....
DeleteBetsy I don't know where you get all of your energy from.
ReplyDeletecoffee ;)
DeleteBetsy I was wondering about your to-do list. I was disappointed you didn't have a summer picnic, maybe this year. Have your bulbs bloomed that you started inside?
ReplyDeleteSorry to disappoint you. But the lists are just fun ideas and I don't put any pressure on myself to complete each one. The picnic was the one thing that involved the most effort on my part and the least fun for my boys. I was skeptical it would happen when I wrote it down, and I didn't really push for it to become reality.
DeleteThe bulbs have sprouted to about 1" tall. They are taking their good old time!
Do I know you?
Im making my list dear:)
ReplyDeleteI will show you later by mail.
When I was young I had many journals I loved write in them.
Maybe I need a journal haha!
OK :) So, what kind of list is this? A Summer Fun?
DeleteSome things are fun other nope:)but som things I have to do!
DeleteI begin yesterday and Im saved all the christmas stuff:)
I will translate to send you!
Have a nice weekend!
Hi Betsy .. you've certainly had your cold glad it's getting 'warmer' .. poor Mr and Mrs Bird - they must have been so pleased to have had some water and something to eat ..
ReplyDeleteList - yes now I must do some .. cheers Hilary
We had a little more snow overnight! But that's good...I like it to look fresh and pristine. Still, bits of grass are starting to show, so it isn't nearly as deep as it once was!
DeleteI just had to remember to put tissue and lip balm in all my coat/sweater pockets, too. ;) I know you'll be crossed through this list in no time at all! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteI already have a couple of things going! haha. Great minds with the tissue/lip balm! :)
DeleteThose things written clearly by 'Lizzy'
ReplyDeleteShow this gal likes to keep herself busy.
She jots down a list
So not one thing is missed
And she won't scream and yell in a tizzy.
She gives herself so much to do
You'd think she might end in a stew
But she ticks off each item
With ease ad infinitum
Then rewards herself with coffee brew.
'cause not one item will she forget.
last line got in somehow - het I'm not writing a third verse - YET lol
Deleteoh, you crack me up!
DeleteFeel free to add a third verse, if you dare.
I'll be back Monday to read it!
Have a lovely weekend....
The dove is beautiful
ReplyDeleteI have to make a scatter brain list too lol
I go the bed thinking ok tomorrow I have......
Then I wake up and forget everything I have to sit up and really think about the list I made in my brain the night before.
I know there was a lot but like every day my eyes do more than what is actually done.
This past week I am unable to up load any pictures from Picassa It shows error 503. I thought it was due to the weather but after a week of no blogging I figure maybe they want to get paid to upload pics to the blog. But I don;t use my blog to make money so I don't see why I have to pay Picassa for a blog hobby. Now I have a head ache to up load to desk top to post.
OK Here's the last verse.
ReplyDeleteSee - I dared ROFL
Just between us, this list of jobs, twenty
Things Betsy must do - jobs in plenty
Without she'd forget
And so would regret
Not doing each and every entry!!
oops! wrong email address - above was me!! lol
