I'm not quite sure what made this song pop into my head
since I haven't heard it in probably 40 years. haha.
I think we used to sing it in grade school!
Was probably played on a record player, too!
And...isn't Mr. Finch lovely? He deserved 3 photos today!
♥
the finch is gorgeous....the red breast really pops...
ReplyDeleteha...see you just wanted to get that song stuck in all our heads like yours.
If you endured the entire 2:37, I guarantee it's stuck in your head! haha....
Deletebeautiful finches, I will hear that for days, lol!!!
ReplyDeleteI know...me, too! What have I done? lol....
DeleteI've never heard that song. Mr. Finch is beautiful against the snow.
ReplyDeleteHope you're staying warm and safe there. We have a snow day tomorrow. Campus is closed due to snow and cold.
We're good...the power is on, we have groceries...couldn't ask for anything more. School isn't cancelled as of yet, but I expect it to be. We're supposed to be covered in ice and sub zero temps. The Mr. said not to even bother packing lunches! ha.
DeleteEnjoy your snow day! Maybe you'll have one Tuesday, too! I don't think it will be warmer by then.
LOL Just heard the birdie song ROFL. Why am I rolling on the floor? I was listening to Mr Ludwig Van Beethoven's Symphony No 3 and switched him off to listen to your birdie song LOL. I don't think Beethoven would be too impressed and I rather think for once he might be glad he was deaf!! LOL. However I stayed the course for all the 2mins 37secs with no lasting damage. Charming little 'ditti' actually.
ReplyDeleteBut we have our own little birdie song dating back to 1959 when Pearl Carr and Teddy Johnson entered the Eurovision Song Contest. It is DREADFUL, far worse than yours. If you want to see it here is the URL, but don'say I didn't warn you!! Imagine if they performed that today!! The mind boggles.

Just listened to this clip Eddie - too funny. I think it's interesting that there have been 3,650 views... but no comments! Ha!
DeleteOh my!!! Yes, that is FAR worse than my little youtube here! LOL!!!! I could only take a few lines...didn't want that stuck in my head! hahaha..... "there's a bird on a branch...and a branch on a tree" ♪♪♪ haha.
DeleteFacial features flatten fearing further frightening frolic! haha.....
Hi Suza. Can you blame them not commenting LOL. They would be unprintable!! Not sure where it came in the contest - probably last with no points LOL
DeleteFace frowns, for forehead's furrowed, 'finking' (LOL) funny feathered finch fantasies - finch flies forward for feeder filled full food!
Deletefinking???? I am laughing Fo Fard I Fan't Fink of Fords to Frite. lol.....

DeleteYour birdies always look like beautiful paintings - and Mr. Finch certainly deserves his limelight. Ahhhhhhhh - that song is now firmly implanted! I have not heard it in a million years.

We're getting covered in ice!
DeleteI have never watched it...I think I'm the only one! ha.
I haven't watched yet either... but I am going to start Season 1 this week.
DeleteThat's a good idea....I'd hate to jump in on the 4th season.
DeleteI've never heard that song before. Your bird pictures are always gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIsn't he beautiful? I love seeing him and his Mrs. out there every day!
DeleteWe shall forgive you the dreadful birdie song since you displayed a trio of stunning photos! (smiling)
ReplyDeleteBe safe from the ice, little doll! And stay warm!
Vincent xo
It is dreadful, isn't it? But it's reminiscent of my childhood, so you will have to endure. :) We're staying warm...another snow day for the boys so we'll continue to hibernate! :)
DeleteEndure for you? That is not really a hardship. Besides, I cheated and didn't listen to the entire torment. (smiling) Mr. Bluelight takes the prize with his, though. That is bloody horrid! What screeching!
DeleteI and Mr. Bluelights completely agree with you! ha.
DeleteYep, when I read the title, the song just popped into my head too. I wish really helpful stuff would come to mind that quick, like passwords, pin numbers and where the car keys ended up! Beautiful photos, Betsy!
ReplyDeleteFunny how our memories work, isn't it? Short term memory is too short sometimes! haha.
DeleteYou have quite a choir now singing "Lets all sing like the birdies sing"....I can't remember how long it's been since I heard it...but looking at the record and record player you know it was from different area.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen such beautiful birds as your finches. God really created something marvelous when he painted their little red chests.
It obviously isn't a song that lived through to the next generations. haha.
DeleteThose finches are the sweetest things...quite small. The red really pops against the snow right now!
Hi Betsy .. love the photos of Mr Finch - beautiful colouring .. and a fun song taking me back years .. cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteSo you recognized that song, too? Well, I'm among good company! :)

ReplyDeletex
warble, warble ♪♪♪ ha.
DeleteI remember this song during world war II when I was a little boy. Listening to the wireless with my dad as the bombs dropped outside.
ReplyDeleteHey! It's you! The first miracle of 2014! :)
DeleteListening to that over-the-top cheery song must have been surreal while bombs were dropping. Good grief!
Ah Betsy you always make this with songs lol
ReplyDeleteanyway the pictures stunnings :)

Well, I had to take Mr. Finch's photo...he was doing so many cute poses! :)
DeleteMr. Finch is quite handsome!
ReplyDeleteIsn't he? What a stunner! :)
DeleteTweet, tweet, tweet... I think Mr Finch is just to thing to brighten a cold, snowy day. (That song might be stuck in my head now too.)
