They stay all winter but shrivel as the winter progresses. We have flocks of birds that love them that swoop in and devour them, so they will become small and scarce as the weeks go by.
The birds sure are hungry these days.... They are keeping me hopping...filling the feeders...and of course....my wee mischievous Red is always lurking!! Have a great evening Betsy!
I haven't seen a squirrel in a while here....the cats are good for keeping them away. I usually see a few mid-winter, though..they get hungry enough to brave the cats and get in the feeder. No squirrel is like your Red, though! haha....
I used to sing "Found a Peanut" in nursery school...I hadn't thought about that song in a long time. I don't think they teach it to the kids anymore, maybe it's the rise of peanut allergies...
Bird flutter in and out so fast, to photograph them is like a game...a challenge! ha. When I get a good shot, it's so much fun! But I do delete quite a few blurry ones...or ones that no longer have a bird in the frame! lol....
How do you get the dialog bubble in the photo? Is it photoshopped on the PC before you upload? My graphic design knowledge on computers is rudimentary at best.
I'm afraid I'm not acquainted with the song, but it's a splendid capture of your bird there!
Have you missed me? I've missed you, lovely lady! I've been a bit under the weather but am back among the living today. Now I must read through your posts and see what I have missed!
So what is wrong with those tasty looking crab apples?
ReplyDeleteHe must have been craving a little protein. ha.
DeleteIt's just the same here. The birds are crazy for peanuts or sunflowers seeds but the bushes and trees are chock full of berries.
DeleteIt depends on the birds here. The Starlings and Robins prefer the berries!

DeleteOK, Betsy, now you have me singing.."Got a Peanut". How long will your crab apples stay. They just make the best picture with your darling birds.
