I can tell one of the older Grandkids found it but most of it is still there. We do not get a lot of Trick or Treaters coming to the door. Most of the kids have grown up and moved away. But I like to be prepared because every few years we seem to have kids from other areas show up. And I like to treat them as someone would treat the wee wittle ones.
Smoke does look like he is posing and it looks like you will have a great winter eating the apple butter. I really have an urge to eat some eggs right now. Biscuits and gravy, homemade fried potatoes, bacon, and scrambled eggs sound like a great brinner for some reason.
yeah, most of the neighborhood kids are gone here, too but now we have them bringing their own kids to trick-or-treat in grandma and grandpa's neighborhood! It's always fun. My boys like to watch, too.
your breakfast for dinner sounds so good....I do that every once in a while....
Such lovely pictures. Well. Except the breakfast. Don't do eggs or toast. :) The cloche with the books is just beautiful. And that sweet gray face, too. Happy weekend!
Love the Christmas plate! You have a lot of James Whitcomb Riley books. I toured his house when I was a child and we recently went again. He is a Hoosier. The finch is so cute and Smoke looks very content in this photo. Have a good weekend!
Wonderful This and That theme. The Apple Butter looks great, and the labels are so cute..are the edges with pinking shears? Love your book collection and Smoke is one good looking cat.
they are decorative scissors...more like a ripple than a pinking pattern. I think I'll give most of those away for christmas....feels good to have that done! :) Maybe Alex's bus aide deserves more than one. hahaha.....
Are those the kind of scissor "Scrapbookers" use? It really does look better to me than pinking pattern. Love the little spoon stamp. Because knitting the dishcloths keep my bursitis hands limber I will probably be adding them to my little Christmas gifts. Yesterday I found red and candy striped red and white yarn. So I better get knitting!! And yes, if I was Alex's bus aide...I'd be so happy!
yes, I got them at Walmart, I think. You can get them with different cutting patterns. Your dishcloths will make nice gifts..and good for you to get started already! The striped yarn sounds perfect! :)
This is what I admire about you, Betsy. You have a brilliant eye! Thank you for sharing your photographs. We enjoy apple butter over here, as well! The cat is my favorite. He looks like he enjoys your company. What a spoiled feline!
Isn't Smoke beautiful? :) He's the softest, too, of all the cats.
Funny you mentioned the egg cup! I thought of that when I cut that egg open and burnt my fingers! I know what soldiers are but have never done that....it's just not american! :)
Notice how birds, rabbits, bugs and all the cats Stare at you like they are hunting rats? Do you have something on your face? I hope that's not the case lol
Love the bell jar with the books, now I finally know what to do with all the little books I have, I can bell jar them - once the pumpkins move out!! xxx
Still in decorating chaos, hence the lack of blogging, I will sort out and photograph and post when I get back to whatever the heck normal is - been doing some sewing to hopefully (fingers crossed if I can get pics) post tomorrow. Will do bell jar and books in the week!
Oh, I do love soft-boiled eggs...and we do soldiers here, too!! Perhaps I'll make myself some for lunch...on this miserable, windy, rainy, dark, cold Saturday! Glad we got to the Lake yesterday! Your Apple Butter will make lovely Christmas gifts...♥ How did you ever find that many jars...all the same size? Mrs Finch is adorable!!! Love birds!
Enjoy your weekend... Think I'll go and apply some tanning cream!!! That post went over like a lead balloon!!! Oh well.....back to the drawing board! ha!
I wonder why the soldier toasts didn't make it to the usa. I had never even heard of them until bloggers clued me in...and it was a gal in Toronto! haha. Now I really want some egg cups so I can have soft boiled eggs the proper way. Mr. A would be so proud. haha....
I love you. You are such a busy girl full of fun things to do. I love how you used the glass bell to hide your collection. Now I know what to do with mine :)
well, aren't you sweet! :) Hey, if you put books under your bell, I want to see it! :) I'm enjoying this different way to display my old books...and they don't get dusty!
I like your pictures today. The are peaceful and calm, unlike my mind. I am confident things will work out for the best, but making my brain rest is a feat I've not yet mastered.
Love them all and I found where I hid the candy.
ReplyDeletehaha..oh yay...good for you! :) So, how much is left??

ReplyDeleteIt's not really Christmas. The pattern is called Heart and Pine. No tinsel or ornaments. haha.
DeleteYeah, Riley is a Hoosier. I grew up hearing those stories, which is why I love the books!

Deleteand your post wasn't a lead balloon. The majority of your readers must be the no-makeup, no-tanning, no-shorts type. ha.
DeleteI liked it!

Your brain is not peaceful and calm today? Have a cup of tea and take a deep breath! :)
DeleteI had some pumpkin yogurt. Is that good enough?
DeleteTime will calm my mind.
God has a plan.
I adore apple butter and your James Whitcomb Riley collection! I love the poem "Little Orphan Annie."
ReplyDeleteI heard that poem read so many times when I was little, I know it for memory. :) A true Hoosier, don't you think? ha.
DeleteI love the cats eyes photo, I bet Pat will as well, just awesome Betsy!
ReplyDeleteAbsent from blog world for days!
ReplyDeleteLove miscellanea!!
I have a James Witcomb Riley collection as well! LOVE!
