Fireworks

We went to see fireworks Sunday night down in the
center of our little village!  We took blankets, snacks and met up
with Lauren, Taylor and Lauren's parents who were here for the
holiday weekend!  It was a beautiful night!

Harry loves fireworks!
He takes his watching very seriously, too! ha.

And there's another thing crossed off my Summer Fun To Do List!

  1. I love your list...it has had some really fun things...On the contrary..my list has included going through all the old VCR movies, and give or toss. My dear friend Valerie, said she'd take all the old Disney ones. Yeah!!!

Love taking the family to Fire works...How Special!

    2. Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter...it was time to get that corner in our bedroom cleaned out! I can't even open the door all the way. I decided this morning when I could hardly see in the full length mirror for the stack of movies in front of it....IT WAS TIME!!!

    3. Cleaning projects hit me like that, too! I can walk by something for months and not think about it and then all of a sudden I'm done with it and it's dealt with that day. lol....

  4. Great photos!

Do Alex and Spencer like fireworks, too?

Does summer end with Labor Day, or do you give yourself until the official end of summer to complete your list? Can't let the summer pass without s'mores!

    1. Yes, they do like them, too...but Spencer seemed a little apathetic this year. haha. Alex is in the background of that photo of Harry....he smiled a lot. :)

I go with the official Sept 20th as the last day of summer! I think I'm the only one! lol...everyone is getting out pumpkins and talking about fall. Not yet, I say! haha. It's still summer for 3 more weeks. lol.....

  5. Your fireworks really go all out
    Ours just kinda fizzle about
    Not worth ones time
    For their chime

    1. I kinda thought these were only a fizzle
other years they've been more than a drizzle.
But the boys still thought they were great
      at any rate.

    2. Guess the camera makes them grand
When really they come from fizzle land

  13. I love when a plan is completed, well, almost but real close.

    1. Oh, I knew we'd have fireworks on Labor Day! haha...it's a tradition here! I think I'll finish with days left to spare! Feeling pretty good with only three things to go!

  15. Oh boys! Tell the little rascals i'm jealous. haha. You can read the wonder on Mr. H's face.
I've not been to a fireworks display in years. Hubby is not so much a fan and it usually rains around here if fireworks are even mentioned.

Loved the little story! There are still some really good people out there. And they were right about one thing. God does know who to give the most special kiddo's to. My aunt being one of them.

    1. I love those stories of random acts of kindness. A few blogs had a challenge to do 30 acts in 30 days. It looked so fun, I just may have to join in next time!

    2. Me too! I'm sure I miss many an opportunity to pass along a random act of kindness.

I remember once after my sister's hubby passed away she was having dinner alone. This man/stranger paid for her dinner and left her a little note which was handed to her by the waitress. The note read, The look of loneliness on your face broke my heart. I have paid your check. I don't know what has caused such sorrow, but in helping you I know it lighten my heart and I pray it does yours.
My sister kept this little note to remind herself that God is always watching. In a moment in time when she thought she was totally alone she wasn't. That meant so much to her.

  16. Love the fireworks!
I am trying to decide if I should make my autumn list now or wait until summer is officially over. If I wait, autumn becomes entirely too short, but if I do it now I lose out on another couple weeks of summer. What to sacrifice? Oh, the decisions we must make!

    1. I've thought of that. I'm going to wait til the official day, of course. Then that gives you until Dec 21st. If you cut fall off at Thanksgiving, then your winter will go until April. ha. I may have a shorter fall list that can be done by Thanksgiving but not post a winter list until January. How's that? :)

    2. That sounds like a fabulous idea. Perhaps a "pre-Christmas" list would be the thing.

      Delete
    3. Yeah, because December is all about Christmas and there are plenty of winter things that can be done January through March. I did start writing down some fall ideas. I'm wishing my s'mores was on that list...now that I think of it, it seems more fallish.

    1. Cedarville has fireworks on Labor Day and a festival that lasts the entire weekend. Senator John Kyle, who founded Labor Day, was born here...so it's a big deal! No fireworks on July 4th...just Labor Day! :)
