Charming Coops

These charming chicken coops are popping up all over!
At least they are in Ohio.  Are they where you live?

They sure are cute.  I guess that would make gathering eggs
even more fun, wouldn't it?  This family liked their red one so much,
they got a second one!

I think the girls like it!

  1. A chicken coup that is quite the sight
    And if it does delight
    Does that mean
You are now going all kentucky and adding more pets to your scene? lol

  2. Chicken's are becoming quite the thing, aren't they? I will be on the lookout for fancy chicken coops and report back at a later time.

I wonder if they are fox-proof? Hannah's riding teacher lost all her chicken to a family of foxes and the other night they snagged her turkey too. Someone needs to build Lindsay a better chicken coop. I like those.

PS. Here come the college students. Hannah's lifetime friend is headed your direction. Pray for Kara. :)

You tell Kara that if she needs anything at all, to call me. Tell her I live right behind Winners (grocery/gas)....so close to campus!

    1. Maybe they want organic eggs without the cost? I guess we don't have to worry until we see them taking them for walks on leashes. lol.... Wouldn't out cats love a coop in our yards? ha.

  6. those could almost convince me to keep chickens again...almost, but not quite. ha. I guess when the neighbors have free range chickens that lay yummy eggs and the neighbors kids deliver those eggs to my door it seems I get the better end of the deal, does it not? I do love the looks of those coops though!

    1. Yes, I would agree that is a better deal! But I know you deliver wonderful things to their door, too...like cheesecake. ha. I'm assuming that cleaning the coop is not fun. Our parakeets are messy things, so I can only imagine. lol....

  10. Hi Betsy .. well that's a grandiose home for the girls. We used to have a shed with wire netting round, to keep the fox out ... nothing painted and posh.

Love that they've got two .. cheers Hilary

  11. No chicken coops here in Chicago, ha! But those are cute!

Hey, summer is winding down and you still have a few things to do on your list. Maybe I'll have a banana split this weekend myself.

Yep, I have about 4 weeks left of summer. Every time I look at my list, I can't believe I haven't devoured a banana split yet! Must be saving the best for last! ha.

    1. Well that was odd. ha. Anyway.

I love these little coops. Sweet how they doll them up these days. My dad had free range chickens when I was little. I hated those birds and had to catch their backs turned to make it into the house with my life. They loved my dad and followed him everywhere, but them and me did not get along.

    3. Betsy you should have seen them together. As soon as he stepped outside they would make a beeline. He would sit down and they gathered around like his little harem. He always kept feed in his pockets. Was a sweet sight to behold but it didn't make me like them any better. :) When he worked outside they strolled behind him *even whilst mowing the yard* and you would see him shooing them away because they would get in his way.
Maybe they were so mean to me because they were jealous? haha. His rooster Malcolm *yes they had names*...the devil himself. I hate chickens to this day and of course i'm scared of them too.
