These charming chicken coops are popping up all over!
At least they are in Ohio. Are they where you live?
They sure are cute. I guess that would make gathering eggs
even more fun, wouldn't it? This family liked their red one so much,
they got a second one!
I think the girls like it!
♥
#1 what fun
ReplyDeleteUnder your sun
look at you!
DeleteA chicken coup that is quite the sight
ReplyDeleteAnd if it does delight
Does that mean
You are now going all kentucky and adding more pets to your scene? lol
no coop for me
DeleteI'll just live vicariously.
ha.
Chicken's are becoming quite the thing, aren't they? I will be on the lookout for fancy chicken coops and report back at a later time.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they are fox-proof? Hannah's riding teacher lost all her chicken to a family of foxes and the other night they snagged her turkey too. Someone needs to build Lindsay a better chicken coop. I like those.
PS. Here come the college students. Hannah's lifetime friend is headed your direction. Pray for Kara. :)
Fox are plentiful around here...and wolves! I'm sure they are fox proof...and I bet they have a watch dog.
DeleteOur little village doubles in size this weekend!...and gets quite a bit louder. lol...
DeleteYou tell Kara that if she needs anything at all, to call me. Tell her I live right behind Winners (grocery/gas)....so close to campus!
I think you're right! Its a far sight better than our old coop! Our chickens were happy but to be honest it was the job I hated the most,
ReplyDeleteI suppose it would be a icky job in some ways. ha.
DeleteThey are really cute! There seem to be lots more people getting chickens around here too.
ReplyDeleteIt's like the new pet...that feeds you. lol...
Deletehmmm have not seen them down my way....but chickens seem to be in the in thing right now...people i never would have thought buying chickens...what is up with that?
ReplyDeleteMaybe they want organic eggs without the cost? I guess we don't have to worry until we see them taking them for walks on leashes. lol.... Wouldn't out cats love a coop in our yards? ha.
Deletethose could almost convince me to keep chickens again...almost, but not quite. ha. I guess when the neighbors have free range chickens that lay yummy eggs and the neighbors kids deliver those eggs to my door it seems I get the better end of the deal, does it not? I do love the looks of those coops though!
ReplyDeleteYes, I would agree that is a better deal! But I know you deliver wonderful things to their door, too...like cheesecake. ha. I'm assuming that cleaning the coop is not fun. Our parakeets are messy things, so I can only imagine. lol....
DeleteAll it needs is a green roof!
ReplyDeleteI'll let them know you're in the business! haha. I was thinking when I snapped that photo that they needed a green roof..and a goat up there keeping it trimmed. lol....
DeleteThose are almost as big as our Cottage.
ReplyDelete"Move over girls, here I come!".
haha...oh, you are right! You could start calling your little place, "The Coop" lol....
DeleteLook really cute and they look happy lol
ReplyDeletehere I saw new neighbors have chicken in their yard but the house isn't beauty like this:)
Xo
Nice...maybe they will share their extra eggs!
DeleteHi Betsy .. well that's a grandiose home for the girls. We used to have a shed with wire netting round, to keep the fox out ... nothing painted and posh.
ReplyDeleteLove that they've got two .. cheers Hilary
It is pretty cute, isn't it? And with the fire wood stacked inbetween? Adorable.
DeleteNo chicken coops here in Chicago, ha! But those are cute!
ReplyDeleteHey, summer is winding down and you still have a few things to do on your list. Maybe I'll have a banana split this weekend myself.
I don't know Yuji...you could be the first and start a trend! :)
DeleteYep, I have about 4 weeks left of summer. Every time I look at my list, I can't believe I haven't devoured a banana split yet! Must be saving the best for last! ha.
I like these things myself, also how America get their eggs so this is an important part of Ohio too!
ReplyDeleteAnybody have these over there? :)
DeleteVery cute chicken coops! Our local paper had a spread recently on creative chicken coops. Some of them were quite luxurious.
ReplyDeleteI bet there are some very creative ones out there! Sheds are another thing that people are dolling up around here...complete with flower boxes and weather vanes!

ReplyDeleteWell that was odd. ha. Anyway.
DeleteI love these little coops. Sweet how they doll them up these days. My dad had free range chickens when I was little. I hated those birds and had to catch their backs turned to make it into the house with my life. They loved my dad and followed him everywhere, but them and me did not get along.
JaG
they loved your dad? aw...that is so cute.
DeleteBetsy you should have seen them together. As soon as he stepped outside they would make a beeline. He would sit down and they gathered around like his little harem. He always kept feed in his pockets. Was a sweet sight to behold but it didn't make me like them any better. :) When he worked outside they strolled behind him *even whilst mowing the yard* and you would see him shooing them away because they would get in his way.
DeleteMaybe they were so mean to me because they were jealous? haha. His rooster Malcolm *yes they had names*...the devil himself. I hate chickens to this day and of course i'm scared of them too.
haha...oh, that's a sweet story! My cats do that to me...I walk in the garden and I have a line of them following along! lol.... Malcolm...love that. :)
DeleteI'd love a chook house like these. Very stylie!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it? quite charming, I think!
DeleteBetsy, I love these coops too. We laughed when they added a SECOND one ...but it JUST MAKES SENSE. I looked in to doing chickens at The Glen...mmmmm, don't think I am cut out for it. MESSY! STINKY!
