The first leaf has turned!
♥
Please note that in my pedi party post, I gave the wrong date!
I said "just in time for Labor Day" but then gave the date a
week after Labor Day weekend. So the corrected date is
Friday, August 30th. One week from tomorrow!
ooo, I can't wait to see this in full on show! Its beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love them all bright red!
DeletewhAT! i only have a week to paint my nails? you know with dawgs like these it takes a while....
ReplyDeletelol...so sorry..completely my fault! But come Labor Day, you'll be looking fine and so glad you already have them done!:)
DeleteYes! Serena came in yesterday with a red leaf like this. Fall is on the way! :)
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind summer staying a while longer if it continues on like it has been...best summer I remember in a long while!
DeleteI agree it was lovely, and way too speedy. But I'm very ready for a school schedule where things slow down a bit and breathing is possible. lol
Deleteyes, I always look forward to that...the routine, schedule, organization and and time alone during the day. I feel so productive! ha.
DeleteYes!
ReplyDeleteI'll never complain about fall....I love it!
Deleteah Betsy look lovely!!xo
ReplyDeletethat one leaf looks a little lonely, doesn't it? ha.
DeleteAh you will have a lot later, I love the color!:)
DeleteI saw a maple tree that was just starting to "turn" today too. Makes me feel this mixture of anticipation for fall, and sadness that summer is almost over. :)
ReplyDeleteIt seems a little early, doesn't it?
DeleteAs Mr. Bill would say...."Oh....Noooooo"!
ReplyDeleteSay it isn't so, Betsy!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
This is the first time I haven't been dying for fall...summer hasn't been too bad! ha.
DeleteBeautiful! I am SO ready for fall this year. I always look forward to fall, but am even more so this year.
ReplyDeleteAre you? Summer has seemed so much cooler that I haven't hated it this year. And lately, it's seemed a little like an early fall! I love it!
Deletewhat? You were wrong?
ReplyDeleteDistracted by the birds singing a song?
Totally wrong
Deleteand singing the 'forgive me' song.
haha. Hope that didn't mess up your pedicure plans
there at your canadian land. :)
The cat can always find a way
DeleteEven if screwed up by your bay haha
Good. I'm expecting great things
Deletemaybe even toes with wings!
A favourite time of year for me... as I much prefer cooler temps over the heat and humidity.
ReplyDeleteWhen we lived in the city (Toronto) we had a beautiful burning bush in our front yard. I hope to add one or more here in the county.
Gorgeous!
fall is a favorite for me, too! It's just all around wonderful! I think putting a burning bush on your to do list would be a very good thing!
DeletePull it out, just like a gray hair. I have forbidden our trees to turn until September under threat of a severe pruning! Ha. I don't want summer to end!
ReplyDeletehaha...you are SO funny! Well guess what?!? This morning it's gone! It must have fallen off all by itself. Now the whole bush is green. :)
DeleteOh noes!! Not yet! Not yet!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Take care
x
no, not yet really...I think that leaf is an early bloomer.
DeleteI know I'm ready for school to start, but I'm not quite sure I'm ready to let go of summer. I'm definitely not ready for the "other" season.
ReplyDeleteI could take another few months of what we have...it's been so lovely!
DeleteI love my burning bushes when they're totally red, but I'm not ready for summer to end! Our summer's been very pleasant with lower temps and humidity than usual too and I'd love for it to go on a while longer. I do like fall but I'm not looking forward to what follows.
ReplyDeleteI agree about the summer...the best in my memory that is for sure. The heat and humidity have been so seldom and that's really what I dislike about summer. It's been great!
DeleteNoooo - I'm not ready for leaves to be turning!
ReplyDeleteme either, really...even though I love fall.
DeleteWell, it's a start...
ReplyDeleteIt fell off and none have followed!
DeleteHi, Betsy! I am so envious of your Northern Hemisphere autumns. I would so love to see the leaves change, but almost all our trees are evergreen, here in the Southern Hemisphere!
ReplyDeleteI will pop in at your Pinterest in a mo and do some stalkin's! (I'm Barefoot Girl!) You have a beautiful family, Betsy! I hope you have a beautiful weekend too!
All the best,
Jéanne. (Mum To A Meezer!)
You'll just have to come up for a visit some time. Yes, autumn is lovely here....my favorite! Thanks for browsing my Pinterest today! I noticed you pinned a few things...Gloria, too! ha.
DeleteBoy, that red leaf really pops among all that green! It's hard for me to believe that fall is right around the corner; summer just zipped by.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it? Kinda of funny, it being all alone! Summer did fly by..and it was lovely, too!
DeleteThis is just beautiful Betsy, really love the gorgeous colour of the leaves.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Matt! :) Soon it will all be red!
DeleteLovely lone red leaf. It must be really pretty when the whole thing turns. My favorites are red and orange. We have 10-acres of oaks so I have mostly yellows with a few bits of red/orange.
ReplyDeleteI have one tree that always turns first. Usually by the end of July you can see a change. But this year with all the rain the thing is still as green as ever. And mother nature has kept her hands from around my Hostas' throat! We are most summers so dry here it looks as if she had choked the life from them by the end of June. I wonder what our autumn holds with our summer being so strangely different. A surprise maybe but a good one I pray.
JaG
I haven't seen anything else about to turn around here! I think that leaf was confused. lol....
