Raspberry Blueberry Smoothie

It's super hot and humid this week....perfect for blending up
some smoothies.  Also a perfect way to use up a bunch of
berries and vanilla yogurt I have in the freezer!

    1. I hadn't made a smoothie in years! My blender was way in the back of the cupboard and I forgot about it! ha.

  2. Not only does it sound delicious...it's such a pretty color. OK, I'm dragging out my blender!!! BTW A large Sour Cream I got at Costco got frozen by accident. When it defrosted, it grainy and runny...any advice? Ever have that happen?

    1. That's one thing I loved about it...that beautiful color and intense berry flavor. yum! I just told the Mister that I don't think I'd had my blender out in 6-7 years!

That's how my yogurt is when I freeze it. It tastes fine but the boys won't eat it looking like that. ha. It made great smoothies. I bet you can still bake with it...coffee cake or even stir it into mashed potatoes... If you put it in the blender it would still made good salad dressing or dip, too, I bet. Let me know what happens!

    3. That kinda what I thought. I put hid it under the butter on a baked potato for Don and he didn't seem to mind. TeeHee. Yes, I'll try it in baking, and salad dressing, etc. I've never tried to freeze yogurt.. I'll remember that. Thanks Betsy.

  10. Must say ... this is timely. Carl spent hours in the oral surgeon's office today. Procedure began about 10am .. we left around 3:30. Six titanium implants placed in the jaw where he is missing teeth, his sinuses 'elevated' also ... kind of wobbly for a while, much improved now. Pain meds and ice packs are helping. He will live on shakes like yours for a few days. Blended soups too ........ so glad the worst part is behind him.

    1. a smoothie maker? I'm intrigued! How is that different from a blender?

    2. It just has settings for smoothies, milk shakes and frozen drinks like marguerites. It doesn't chop or purée.

  21. Timely post ... Carl came through the six-tooth implant procedure yesterday .. now the waiting for months and months begins as the posts are surrounded by strong bone. Shakes are his diet this week ... fruit, soup, and anything else we can dream up. Oh, and oatmeal for breakfast.

  22. Been doing the smoothie dance for months. Adding the most horrible stuff to at least get something healthy in my system during the day. I really hate them, but i'm drinking them anyway. The worst part for me is washing the blender. Now is that lazy or what?
btw...I love reading your side bar of what's going on today and what's for dinner. Me? So far today i've did one load of laundry and then sat on my big ol' backside to read blogs.
Hope you find something wonderful in the trash at the auction!

  25. Your smoothie is so pretty...not many blueberries in it huh? I keep frozen fruit on hand and yogurt all the time as we enjoy smoothies atleast 2 times a week. YUM! So perfect for this hot weather huh? I know you are all hyped and excited about your big weekend ahead. Sure thinking about you and praying all goes well and for safe travels too.

  26. nom nom two of my fave berries :) My motto is a smoothie a day keeps the doctor away. But since I'm alergic to milk I make them with mineral water. Just drunk my banana, appricot, honey and lemon smoothie after lunch.
