Memorial Day

Larry Hanna
1938-1993

Don't forget to salute a vet this weekend!
And remember those who lost their lives to give us freedom.
This little guy actually did grow up to serve in the military.
He was one of the lucky ones that came home alive.
And he became my uncle!

    3. Yep...I think we've slacked off in our search
for the pot of gold left at the rainbow's lurch.
But since we have the fountain of youth
we'll have more years to be a couple of sleuths.
      hahahahaha.....

    1. Isn't it sweet? Actually I was looking for him in his sailor uniform. I can see it in my mind, but couldn't find it. Maybe I personally don't have a copy. Then I saw this one...and it was perfect! :)

  5. As a Vet, I appreciate you asking others to salute us. I sometimes hear that only 1% of the people in the country have served. I thought it was a little bit more but either way that means there are not a lot of us out there. And I saw that there about 22 Vets a day committing suicide. That is not good. So please if you know any Vets please let them know they are loved. We served because we believe in protecting our constitutional rights and freedoms for everyone in the country, so please feel free to protect and save a vet!

    God bless.

    1. I didn't know you were a vet! Well, yay for you and thanks so much! 1% seems so low, but we live near an air force base, so we see lots of soldiers whenever we are out. We also have lots of aircraft going overhead. F16s practicing are my favorite. :)

  12. Your Uncle is an inspiration to me Betsy, thank you for everything he did in the name of peace. Here's hoping you and your family have an awesome day. As a side note what do you mean by you're "flopping" in your reply to Janice? Is that like wearing flip flops? (Serious question!)
