A Little Kitchen Improvement

I wanted to show you what my men got me for Mother's Day!
A 15 piece set of Tramontina Hard Anodized Nonstick Cookware.

And new stainless flatware.

I didn't know I needed the cookware. ha.  I
thought my Caphalon was just fine!
But I have to say that the new is better...
conducts heat faster and more evenly
and I'm loving the nonstick!
Clean up is a breeze!

The flatware was from Taylor.
Smart boy!  After 25 years, we've had some pieces
go missing, not come home from school, (or be
replaced by cheap cafeteria pieces) or
get bitten by the garbage disposal.

And last not certainly not least, this was the first year
I got a sweet Mother's Day gift from a girl!
Aw..the lovely Lauren gave me this gorgeous
glass pedestal bowl and beautiful potpourri
from Pottery Barn.  The colors perfectly
match the decor I have on the foyer table
for spring and I've been enjoying the
fragrance all week!

I felt totally blessed and loved!

On mother's day at your feed
    New is better too
As it is shiny to view
    Plus easier to clean
    Makes things serene

  4. Oh what perfect Mother's Day gifts...I feel the same way. Always love things for the kitchen. You are in for such a treat getting a "daughter" to love and spoil you in ways boys just don't think of. I love the colors of the potpourri and think I could even smell it.

I had to laugh when I saw you new flatware. When we lived in Santa Barbara, one Christmas the Church gave me a new set of flatware, that I badly needed...When I opened the package, I exclaimed without thinking..."Someone's been looking in my drawers"...of course the congregation roared laughing as my face turned redder than my hair at that time... A memory I had almost forgotten! HaHaHa

  14. Lucky you! I'm still using my original (30+ year old) pots, and the silverware is a mashup of several different patterns and styles.

    1. Some of my pots were 25 year old wedding gifts! And yes, your silverware sounds just like mine did! haha. Every once in a while we'd get a fork with a one bent tine...that drives me crazy to eat with one of those! lol... I hope new pots, pans and flatware appear in your home some time when you least expect it! :) Maybe you could watch for a sale at the mall!

  15. What wonderful gifts! I also love anything for the kitchen and one of my Christmas gifts this year was new flatware. I was also missing a lot from my original set for the exact same reasons as you! Over the past few years my guys have given me a dehydrator and a food processor -- things I love but wouldn't have bought for myself. I don't know why I feel like I'm really splurging if I buy things like that for myself, but I do. Anyway, it brings back a cute memory. My husband, of course, was the one to pick out the items and when I opened the food processor, Matt (my Asperger son) was in total awe that we now possessed a food processor AND a dehydrator -- he couldn't stop commenting on how cool that was. I guess he thinks we're now living the high life...lol!

    1. oh, that is a cute story! Well, you ARE living the high life! ha. I don't have a dehydrator, but I do love my food processor! I'm like you...I feel like they are splurges, too! Too many necessities take the place of buying things like that! ha. Just the grocery bill overwhelms me. lol....

  23. What a nice looking set of "pots and pans", as we call them in the Mother Country! I'm envious. I love cooking and they would be just fine for me, and I've never heard the term "flatware" to describe "eating irons" as we call them. You Americans!
