I wanted to show you what my men got me for Mother's Day!
A 15 piece set of Tramontina Hard Anodized Nonstick Cookware.
And new stainless flatware.
I didn't know I needed the cookware. ha. I
thought my Caphalon was just fine!
But I have to say that the new is better...
conducts heat faster and more evenly
and I'm loving the nonstick!
Clean up is a breeze!
The flatware was from Taylor.
Smart boy! After 25 years, we've had some pieces
go missing, not come home from school, (or be
replaced by cheap cafeteria pieces) or
get bitten by the garbage disposal.
And last not certainly not least, this was the first year
I got a sweet Mother's Day gift from a girl!
Aw..the lovely Lauren gave me this gorgeous
glass pedestal bowl and beautiful potpourri
from Pottery Barn. The colors perfectly
match the decor I have on the foyer table
for spring and I've been enjoying the
fragrance all week!
I felt totally blessed and loved!

Look at you!
DeleteFirst at my zoo!
How blessed you are! Surprises are so much fun!
ReplyDeleteYes, the are!
DeleteAnd anything for the kitchen is very fun to me! :)
Wow - you were spoiled this year. It's all very nice and I know it'll all be used and appreciated!
ReplyDeleteI felt spoiled! Maybe they all feel they owe me big. haha.
DeleteSure cleaned up indeed
ReplyDeleteOn mother's day at your feed
New is better too
As it is shiny to view
Plus easier to clean
Makes things serene
Easier to clean
Deletemakes your OCD sing!
hahaha.
Oh what perfect Mother's Day gifts...I feel the same way. Always love things for the kitchen. You are in for such a treat getting a "daughter" to love and spoil you in ways boys just don't think of. I love the colors of the potpourri and think I could even smell it.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh when I saw you new flatware. When we lived in Santa Barbara, one Christmas the Church gave me a new set of flatware, that I badly needed...When I opened the package, I exclaimed without thinking..."Someone's been looking in my drawers"...of course the congregation roared laughing as my face turned redder than my hair at that time... A memory I had almost forgotten! HaHaHa
yes..that is exactly right..they think of things that the men wouldn't! I love that!
DeleteYour story is just hilarious!!! Oh my goodness..I am laughing! How cute. And how sweet that they got you something you really needed! :)
You are blessed! And obviously much loved. :)
ReplyDeleteI think so, too! I'm very fortunate. :)
Deleteah, nice...the girl can now teach the men how it is down...ha.
ReplyDeleteof course the men are thinking with their stomachs...lol
from the things i see you cook i know why...smiles.
Don't men always think with their stomachs?
DeleteWell, no..wait..I take that back. lol....
You are totally blessed and loved.
ReplyDeleteyes, I am! :)
Deletebeautiful gifts, your daughter in law chose a lovely gift,
ReplyDeleteDidn't she? I love it!
DeleteIf all your animals had buying power!
ReplyDeleteOh my! Wow...I'd be spoiled, wouldn't I? hahaha.
DeleteCome to think of it, the cats do bring me 'gifts' once in a while. But they are the kind I shoo back outside, if they are still alive. lol.... ew.
DeleteThose are great gifts...so thoughtful : ) what is the fragrance of the potpourri? It is lovely and so is the bowl.
ReplyDeleteThe fragrance was Paperwhite. Very nice!
DeleteAwwwww happy happy Mother's Day!! And look at all your thoughtful and beautiful pressies from your wonderful family!!! Enjoy!! Take care
ReplyDeletex
they did a great job, didn't they?
DeleteHi Betsy .. what a great selection .. and just so useful - sadly many of us love useful prezzies, as well as beautiful pretty girlie presents - clever Lauren - just lovely to see and 'hear' you describe ... have a happy week .. Hilary
ReplyDeleteis that sad? oh, I don't think so! haha...useful and girlie...a nice variety!
DeleteI would love to have all these gifts, your family has great taste! New cookware just makes cooking more fun too.
ReplyDeleteIt does make it more fun, doesn't it? I've enjoyed trying a few pieces already!
DeleteLucky you! I'm still using my original (30+ year old) pots, and the silverware is a mashup of several different patterns and styles.
ReplyDeleteSome of my pots were 25 year old wedding gifts! And yes, your silverware sounds just like mine did! haha. Every once in a while we'd get a fork with a one bent tine...that drives me crazy to eat with one of those! lol... I hope new pots, pans and flatware appear in your home some time when you least expect it! :) Maybe you could watch for a sale at the mall!
DeleteWhat wonderful gifts! I also love anything for the kitchen and one of my Christmas gifts this year was new flatware. I was also missing a lot from my original set for the exact same reasons as you! Over the past few years my guys have given me a dehydrator and a food processor -- things I love but wouldn't have bought for myself. I don't know why I feel like I'm really splurging if I buy things like that for myself, but I do. Anyway, it brings back a cute memory. My husband, of course, was the one to pick out the items and when I opened the food processor, Matt (my Asperger son) was in total awe that we now possessed a food processor AND a dehydrator -- he couldn't stop commenting on how cool that was. I guess he thinks we're now living the high life...lol!
ReplyDeleteoh, that is a cute story! Well, you ARE living the high life! ha. I don't have a dehydrator, but I do love my food processor! I'm like you...I feel like they are splurges, too! Too many necessities take the place of buying things like that! ha. Just the grocery bill overwhelms me. lol....
DeleteWhat a nice gift! And, I think you will like having that sweet girl in with your mix of boys :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes! Such a fun change!
DeleteLove the potpourri
ReplyDeleteIt really smells wonderful!
Deleteaaah These are amazing! (I saw last night but I cant comment) look beautiful, you want I envy you LOL
ReplyDeleteme and my old cookware:) anyway when I buy something now is always non stick of course, beautiful betsy!
ANd Lauren really know you is a beautiful gift!! I think she is lovely like Taylor:)...
and all your men of course!xxxx
I've never had the nonstick and I just love it! Now I just have to be careful not to scratch it! ha. I can't believe how nice it is...cooking is better on it, too!
DeleteOh man that is so awesome of Taylor, what an awesome son to buy you the stuff needed to complete your set, congratulations on the improvements Betsy.
ReplyDeleteit's always nice to make improvements, isn't it? Love that!
DeleteOh wow! All are wonderful additions to the kitchen!
ReplyDeleteI know! I'm so excited! :)
DeleteLovely gifts...accompanied by lovely thoughts, I am sure.
ReplyDeleteYes, they were...things like "When's dinner?" and "what are you going to cook first?" hahaha.
DeleteTotally blessed and loved...just as you deserve! I love having daughter in laws too!
ReplyDeleteThey're pretty fun, aren't they?
DeleteWhat a nice looking set of "pots and pans", as we call them in the Mother Country! I'm envious. I love cooking and they would be just fine for me, and I've never heard the term "flatware" to describe "eating irons" as we call them. You Americans!
ReplyDeleteeating irons?? hahaha... well, we do say silverware most often. But I've never heard of eating irons. :)
DeleteWell, if it makes you cook any better....than I am glad!! hahaha!
ReplyDeleteThat apple blueberry crisp looks scrumptuous!!!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
I see improvements already! :)
DeleteWow! Lovely cookware, flatware and love the Potpourri.
DeleteThanks, my sweet D. :)
DeleteHow nice to have a girl in the family, isn´t it? And girls usually know, what other girls like. The bowl and potpourri look so nice. I got chocolate and flowers, not bad either...
ReplyDeleteMy best wishes to all mothers in the world!
