After 29 years of the Easter Bunny only bringing
goodies for the 5 men of the house, it left me
a sweet basket of goodies this year!
Who knew that The Mister could learn to be the bunny!
And no, he didn't read my blog. (he never does!)
Maybe it was guilt. lol.
So, who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?
I mean, after decades, he's finally beginning to put
a few gifts in my Christmas stocking! lol.
One of my Easter treats was a box of mint chocolate chip biscotti.
Biscotti, also known as cantucinni (coffee bread), are twice-baked
cookies originating from the Italian city of Prato.
They are oblong and made dry and crunchy to prolong their
shelf life. It also makes them able to withstand a nice
dunking in your coffee or tea.
The first documented recipe for the cookie is a centuries-old
manuscript, now preserved in Prato, found by the
eighteenth century scholar, Amadio Baldanzi.
Biscotti is the plural term. If you are referring to a
single cookie, it is a biscotto.
And while enjoying my biscotto, with it's mint colored
frosting, I couldn't help but notice my mint colored shirt,
mint colored mug and chocolate sweater.
It was a serendipity kind of thing. :)
I'm all linked up with the A to Z Challenge
for the month of April.

Look at the mister learning a new trick
ReplyDeleteThat is very slick
Becoming the bunny
Bet Nugget thought he looked funny
And no idea what a biscotto was
Until your B Buzz
And look full comment and still first
With my rhyming burst
Gloria is so worst
Maybe you can quench her thirst
and I even posted late
Deleteas to not run into the A post slate!
I asked Nugget if he was the easter bunny
but he just looked at me funny.
Maybe they don't dress in black
to go on the candy giving attack. :)
I think Nugget could be a nice easter bunny!
Deleteand pffft! to Pat I was so far in a dinner:)
Pfft excuses excuses from you
DeleteAnd yeah maybe the black bunnies are shunned by the easter crew
Or smart enough not to get involved with that
As it would be hard work delivering eggs to every mat
ppfft!!! I love ALL bunnies not matter they bring chocolate eggs LOL
DeleteDo you have any idea how adorable you are?
ReplyDeleteI am attempting the A-Z challenge thing. A was for April and the tornadoes it seems to spawn .. tommorrow I will highlight B for Basketball (I'm a die-hard fan of college hoops)

ReplyDeleteIsn't that weird about the colors? I had to just laugh.
DeleteMy bracket picks got all busted to Hell ........ yep, only college hoops.
DeleteThe Mister and Taylor have Louisville winning it all, so they are still alive. ha.
DeleteI was just thinking the other day about how long it's been since I've had biscotti. It was a really random thought, and I have no idea where it came from. Now I want yours! lol
ReplyDeletehaha...well, I'd love to share! Have you even baked it? It's easy and delish.
Deleteperfect!
ReplyDeleteIt did kind of work out that way, didn't it? Too funny!

DeleteI like Wanda's replay. :)
ReplyDeleteWe haven't done Easter baskets since our first two boy were just little guys, but we do enjoy the Easter candy that finds it's way into our house. Somehow I forgot to buy black jelly beans this year. That's just plain tragic!
my late father in law loved black jelly beans! I always think of him when I see them. :)
DeleteLove that you match your biscotto and I love learning something new. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteIt was pretty, wasn't it? yum. I do love mint! Did you have a nice Easter with the grands? I bet they loved their baskets!
DeleteThat looks so good. Can I have a coffee break now please?
ReplyDeleteHmmm... best have breakfast first.
I'm ALWAYS serving coffee! haha. Breakfast first, oh, just be bad like me and make this your breakfast. lol....
DeleteWell the Mister did well indeed! With all things turning up chocolate & mint it certainly did make for a very happy accident. A belated happy easter.
ReplyDeleteIi just love it when strange coincidences turn up like that! :)
DeleteThat is one big beautiful biscotti!! Yay! p.s. i love your singing robin on your sidebar! I think it's a robin anyway! It's lovely!! Take care
ReplyDeletex
they were huge! haha.
DeleteIsn't that robin (english robin) the sweetest thing? You can even see his breath in the crisp morning air...just like here. He's from tumblr.com. So fun! I just had to have him here. :)
A totally awesome looking cookie. Biscotti are fairly easy to make, especially with a Kitchen Aid mixer that does all the work. And you can make so many varieties. Pistachios and just about anything else is my favorite. But your's does look especially good. And so proud of the Mister, he did good this Easter.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
They are easy...they just look complicated! They make nice gifts, too and are easy to package up in a pretty way. I make a chocolate pistachio recipe that is really yummy.
DeleteThe Mister might be a slower learner but, WOW, what a nice gift.
ReplyDeletewho knew an old dog could turn into a new bunny! lol....
DeleteLucky you...
ReplyDeleteMy girls brought me flowers..and my son a card...very unexpected..
Cheers!
Linda :o)

Deletewe can never lost the hope; anyway I think the Mr.-Bunny was so sweet:)
Deletewell, he never said it was now a tradition. Next year might be nothing! haha.
DeleteWho knows? but enjoy:)))
DeleteI am so happy to hear that you got some Easter treats, too! That's a wonderful looking biscotto, by the way.
ReplyDeleteI'd never had a mint chocolate biscotti before, and it was very delicious!
DeleteWhat a wonderful treat. Hello to a fellow boymom going through the A to Z challenge as well.
ReplyDeleteHi! Love boymoms! :)thanks for visiting!
DeleteYEAH! FOR THE MISTER!!!! Yummy Biscotti! I love the crunch with my coffee!
ReplyDeleteI dunk them, so they really don't crunch that much by the time they reach my mouth. haha.
