Saturday

Cocoa discovers the parakeets.

*****

I worked an auction today.
Farm equipment.
No photos.  No treasures in the trash.
Just several hundred farmers that smelled like...
well, farms. ha.  We sold tractors, trailers,
snow blades and manure spreaders.
The only thing I brought home was my tired
body, cold bones, and mud on my boots. ha.
I put those self activating foot warmers in my boots
this morning...and they are still going strong.
Love those things. ...what a lifesaver.

What did you do today?
What did I miss in blog land?
I'm about to tour the streets and say hello. :)

  2. 4 of the 5 kiddos have the stomach flu, and hubby too. So, you know what I did. :)

I think I would enjoy the farm auctions more if it was warm. :)

    1. Oh....been there/done that with lots of little kiddos. Not fun. Ugh! So sorry! Hope everyone is better soon.

Yep, it would have been more fun if it was warm. Or if there were stray animals to bring home. hahaha. Last year, one of my coworkers did take a kitten home that was there.

  3. Surely know the smell of a farm
    Can do a nose harm
And the parakeets may soon sound the alarm
As he tries to sway them with his charm

    1. Well, he's charming all right!
Might make the birdies take flight!
Sam got her paw stuck in the bars this week
and was letting out a whimper and a shriek.
Had to do a little rescue
      after hearing her mews.

    2. Maybe she'll think twice
And stick to bringing you mice
      Good thing you were there
To rescue away at your lair

  4. Oh boy looks like trouble! :) do the cats ever try to reach into the cage?

We helped my sister in law and her family move into their new house :)

I prepared food for tomorrow and baked some amazing chocolate chip cookies, and yes I had a few with milk :)

    1. Oh, me too, really. And we aren't fancy at all. We need to replace a few things as soon as we get Taylor out of college and married. ...carpet, the kitchen floor, some bathroom fixtures.....I like updating the old, too and sometimes that's more fun that totally new everything. I'd miss the sentimental aspects of our house we have now.

      ok...coffee sounds wonderful....be right there. :)

    2. Ha no chocolate cake left but I do have a small vanilla bean cheesecake in the fridge and plenty of fresh fruit to go on top and I still have lemon curd. Lots of options for ruining a diet.lol

Older houses have a certain charm that can't be acquired without having been lived in for years. And they have mature trees and landscaping :) and the updating and remodeling can be a satisfying experience.

    3. I totally agree with all of that! We lost our two big shade trees over the last couple of years! Now we have the littler ones...the crabapples, and redbuds that are younger. We need some big oaks! ha. What will the future grandkids climb? I need to get busy on that. lol....

cheese cake, lemon curd and cookies. oh my. lol... we could make ourselves sick!
