...especially if you don't wear shoes!
It was 20 F degrees today and very windy.
Not the best of weather to get a pedicure and then have
to walk out with those flimsy, hot pink, disposable
foot shields they give you to wear home!
Trouble is, I wasn't going home! I had errands to
run! So after I flip-flopped across the parking lot
and froze my piggies off, I sat in my jeep and thought a
minute. I had to go to the grocery. The other errands
could wait. But my nails weren't dry! And there was
no way I was walking through Sam's Club and Kroger
with my coat, scarf, gloves, and pink foot shields!
So I stopped at Wal-mart to find some real flip flops.
Fortunately I got the first parking spot
and when I flip-flopped inside, the big "SHOES"
sign hanging from the ceiling, was straight in front
of me. And even better yet, a guy was just stocking
an empty shelf with...flip flops! Black ones! In my size!
I grabbed a pair and smiled at him as he looked at my pink
shields and then back at my face, (ha!) and made my way to
the checkout. Black flip flops weren't appropriate either,
but they were better than what I was wearing at the time!
Now that I've survived all hilarious glances and brought my
groceries and pretty piggies home, I can laugh! lol!
The pedicure was wonderful...a deluxe, one hour long appointment
with a massage, clay mask treatment and a soak under hot moist
towels. Oh, and I was sitting in a reclining massage chair! Ahhh.
And the shimmery red polish was perfect for
Valentine's Day, don't you think?
Next time I'll be sure and schedule my appointment as the
last thing on my to do list instead of the first. lol...
*******
And...to any other cat lovers out there...I'm going to attempt
to take another litter to the humane society tomorrow morning
to be spayed/neutered. And I'm very hopeful in taking the
mom, Velvet, too. She ran into a carrier a few times for me
to go after a treat yesterday and today, so I think I can
do that again tomorrow and whisk the door shut when she's
inside. Then she'll probably never speak to me again. ha.
Or maybe after raising two litters, she'll be thankful?
If you think of it, pray that I catch all 5 to go!
God answers stranger prayers, I am sure. :)
Eventually, all the strays in the neighborhood will
be fixed and that will be a good thing!
I saw a sign in the society's waiting room that said that
a male/female can mate and with their offspring mating,
they can produce 67,000 cats in their lifetime.
Oh my. Yes, this is a good thing I'm doing. hahaha.
I'll let you know how it goes!
And stay tuned tomorrow, I have a related story to
tell you, about a dream The Mister had about
Dr. DoLittle (that's what he calls me). haha.
♥
Love your Valentine toes...but the story is too hilarious...Oh Betsy...You again, have made my day!!
ReplyDeleteI was cracking myself up, really. and then that stock man in Walmart....the look he gave me was priceless. Oh my.

ReplyDeleteyou'll have to call her the crazy cat lady or dr. dolittle. haha....and thank her, too! 67,000, you know! lol....
DeleteThat massage sounds wonderful! and I love the shimmery red polish! Funny story... :)
ReplyDeleteIt was wonderful and when she put those hot towels on my legs I was wishing for a full body massage. They would have had to drag me out of there...I'd want to stay forever. lol....
Deletelol :)
DeleteLovely toes betsy, look amazing, make me smile see your feet because of course yours are so white! and mmine (because we are in summer and Im out a lot) are really tan (I always forget put some cream:)

ReplyDeleteswim suits just sound a little chilly, don't they? haha.
Deletehahaha wow 67,000 cats you say?
ReplyDeleteThat would take crazy cat lady to a whole new level at any bay
Well maybe mother nature will also see your toe
And make winter go
That would be grand
As I'll be buried this time tomorrow in my land
Good luck catching them all
Sure now you are the master of the cat call haha
Just thin of all the birds they would eat!
Deletethat study would not think that was neat! haha.
Yes, you will be buried in the snow
we're missing all that fun here in Ohio!
Your smog is keeping it away
DeleteLucky you at your bay
And the study could just be done on you
If you had that many at your zoo haha
You are a very fine person to take up this neighborhood cat challenge.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a good experience...harder than I thought, but I'm glad it's getting done!
DeleteWow! Walmart had flip flops this time of year? Probably for the snowbirds to stock up on. Love the story and your pedi looks great. You really are a sweetie in getting those kitties neutered.
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
they were just putting them out today...he only had 5-6 pairs out and the whole isle was empty...he was probably going to fill it...getting ready for spring breaks, etc. I'm just glad they were there! HAHA.
Deletegood luck herding the crew to the chop shop tomorrow...smiles...and no clipped ears!!
ReplyDeleteha on your flip flop adventure as well...have a great weekend betsy...
ugh..really! No ear notches. lol....I already filled out the paper work and said that!
DeleteWe played "fetch the treat in the carrier" tonight. Kittens love it. Velvet is a little wary but has gone in a few times...not as far in as I would like, but it's better than nothing. lol. It's hard to lure wise mom cats that won't let you touch them. ha.
Your nail salon has nicer flip flops than the one I use :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful picture of Mama Cat and her kittens. Good luck getting them to the vet.
oh really? oh dear....I didn't think that was possible! They were as thin as a sheet of paper. ha.

I've had professional pedicures before, but I think they were all during warm weather when I didn't have to think about any of this stuff!
