Dr. DoLittle Here...

Yesterday I promised to tell you about a funny dream The Mister had
about me.  First a little background.  I've been known to do big projects
around the house on a whim, single-handed.  He has come home from work
to find the furniture rearranged or the paint on the walls
a different color.  One time he dreamed that he was leaving
to go to work, walked into the garage and stepped back in to get
his keys, only to find that in those 5 seconds, I had already
removed the cupboards from the kitchen walls!  hahaha.

We had been talking about my project of befriending the neighborhood
stray cats and getting them fixed and that today, February 9th, was the
next monthly clinic.  I wanted to take 5 more cats and made their appointments.
With that on his brain, this is what he dreamed...

We lived on the beach and I had opened up my own animal shelter
right next door to our home.  And there was a hill between each
property.  The Mister was at home and I was at work in the shelter.
I, being the animal whisperer that I am, could tell stray animals to
go over the hill to our house to stay and get something to eat.
So, I called him on the phone and said, "Hey, be on the lookout for a
miniature horse I just sent over there!"  His jaw drops! Still on the phone,
he looks out the window toward the hill.  Sure enough, a miniature horse
is plodding along toward the house!  "Oh, and a pack of dogs!", I add
in a very matter-of-fact way!

That's when he woke up with a start!

HAHAHAHA!

Poor man.  I wonder if his subconscious is worried
I really will do something like that!

with Whiskers

But don't think he doesn't like the critters around here. :)

This morning I had 4 kittens who eagerly hopped into
carriers in search of treats.  Easy peasy.  But no mama Velvet
to be seen!  When I took the kittens in, the people at the
clinic said if Velvet should show up later this morning, I could
still bring her up until 12:00 noon.  Well, wouldn't you know,
she showed at 11:40!  Just in time to be lured into a carrier
and off we went!  When I told them that I still haven't
been able to get near her to pet her after 2 years,
the lady wrote "WILD" on her papers! lol....

Jack inspecting the patients

Everyone did fine and they are still
under anesthetic..under the dining room table.
They will be good as new in the morning.
Meanwhile, Dr. DoLittle is on call.  :)

    1. I guess I could find his breaking point
if he said, "No horses at this joint!"
      lol...

      Jack is worried...and sniffing them.
      He remembers...and shivers.

  3. Brian has my vote. A miniature horse or pony will scare him. Or one night get a fake call and say it is the vets and they need someone to take care of a pregnant horse who will not go to anyone else but when you were at the vets the horse liked you. And now they want you to take care of her while she has the baby. The Mister will be proud of you and freaked out at the same time. Oh so funny what you could do. But then he might stop telling you his dreams. He is a good man. How many more do you have left to fix? You are a saint for doing this. Those cats hit the Jackpot when they ended up with you.

    God bless.

    1. Well, April Fool's isn't that far away! hahahaha!

I have all of them done that hang around my home!...of of these that are related to each other. But there are others that sporadically come by. One big mean orange tom that I should try to get. I think he would have to be trapped, though, instead of befriended. He's mean to the ones here. So, I'm done...I guess..or temporarily. :)

  11. Hi Betsy .. just brilliant - your poor hubby - but he looks very happy with Whiskers in his arms and taking up his life ... and I'm sure waking up and having a cuddle with you will make those dreams extra special - as long as they don't come true ....

So pleased the menagerie is sorted - and glad the vet said come back with mama if she showed ...

Great to see the pics etc ... cheers Hilary

    1. We would be over-run with cats by now! There are still a lot, but 67,000 in 20 years or so? I've lived in this house longer than that. Can't imagine even a fraction of that amount! Not fun! ha.

  16. You must have a lot of stray cats around your area. I haven't seen any here but it is so sweet of you to take them to get fixed. What a kind heart you have.

    1. We do have a lot! I've taken 15 cats so far! Every little bit helps as far as I'm concerned, and some have become very friendly!

  17. Whiskers looks just like Spooky - a fat stray cat who showed up here two years ago disguised as a wild pregnant mommy cat... turned out to be a pot belly! He's still a fraidy cat, but he loves me, even tho I had him neutered.

You are lucky to have a spouse who doesn't refer to his dreams of your doings as nightmares. Love the robins! I finally had two Goldfinches at my feeders! I went out and got them some thistle seed right away...

    1. haha...no, he didn't say nightmare....he thought it was hilarious...but he also isn't surprised by anything I do anymore. ha.
