What I Did Wednesday #33

  1. Got the boys off to school.  They were happy, really!  I just get that evil eye when I make them pose for the camera.  :)
  2. Noticed the blooms on the little rose bush have opened!
  3. Enjoyed a pot of coffee...so steamy that it fogged up my lens!
  4. Wrote some thank you notes.  Extra fun when they are your own cards! ha.
  5. Ironed the wrinklies. :)
  6. Brought this old granite-ware pot home from the auctions a while back.  Thought I'd use it for my hanging plant above my desk.  I just removed the plastic hanger from the planter and set the whole thing inside.
  7. Thought the skin smelled so good while I was peeling some clementines, that I threw them in a pot with spices and water and simmered them all day on the stove.  Smelled so nice!
  8. Now I can water the hanging plant and it can drain into the pot!
  9. Watched the birds fight over the last of the seed!
  10. Did 5 loads of laundry.  Darks, lights, sheets, towels and rugs. Still loving this huge dryer!  That's a full sized load of clothes in there!  I swear I could fit in it myself.  Next time I need a good spot during hide-n-seek, this is wear I'm going!  Nobody will ever find me! ha.  When I was a kid, I was so skinny that I could fit in the cupboard under the bathroom sink.  That was the best hiding place! ha.

Now I'm watching snowflakes before starting dinner!
Hope your day was lovely, too!

    3. It looked huge! I'm sure Anthony didn't mind a bit that it wasn't a chocolate cake. :) The MIster always requests chocolate cake for his birthday, too! Last year I asked if I could make it turtle, with carmel and pecans layered over the frosting and he said no! haha. I still want to make a turtle cake...maybe I'll have to make one for Valentine's Day. :)

    4. No he didn't mind at all! He likes to try new food. My next cake will be square. Kinda like the shape for something different. That turtle cake sounds delish. I'll come help you eat it! :)

  7. What a trio of cuteness. Love those hats..yes I think I spotted an "evil eye" HaHa. What a busy day you had. Dani and I went to MiMi's for brunch and a trip through the Mall where she found some cute tops to take home. She leaves in the morning, and it's been a nice break for her and fun for me.

  13. Hi Betsy .. the idea of the clementine fragrance around the house - sounds a wonderful idea. I was sent a packet of spiced Christmas teas (2010)... and could not understand where the mince-pie aroma was coming from ... for about three weeks - then I realised!!

Love the description of your day ... as Janice says the thought of your day is a little daunting - but I know we just get on with things ... and I love seeing your photos .. the pink roses are a delight aren't they ...

    Cheers Hilary

  14. I like the steaming coffee photo.
Today my house smells like turkey soup. I'll be filling the crockpot with vegetables once I de-bone the bird.
And I am taking Mom to the Hearing Center. Hopefully they can help us with those squealing hearing aides.

    Pfft to doing it myself
Not using those germy ones at our shelf
