Vintage New Year's Postcards

After the Christmas decorations came down, I put my little collection of vintage New Year's
postcards on my foyer table, with a few other winter related items.
I got the little wire stand at the thrift store earlier this year
and thought it would be fun to use this way.
I think it's actually meant to hold jewelry.

With Wanda saying she put out her Valentine's decor and Linda talking about
spring-like weather, I'm wondering if the theme really fits!  haha.
It was mid-50's today and all of our beautiful snow is gone.
There are even a few daffodils peeking out of the ground!

But this is Ohio!  We will go back to winter soon enough!
In the meantime, I enjoyed having a few windows open today!

  3. Here in Michigan it doesn't seem like winter either but I hear we may have ice tomorrow.
I was admiring your postcard holders. I think they are better for pictures or postcards than jewelry!

  5. Oh Much cuter for cards than jewelry. What a clever way to use it. I haven't posted by Valentine pictures yet, as it seems almost sacreligious to be so early..haha. But they do look cute on the top of my desk. Soon! It feels like Ohio here today...Burrrrr.

  7. You got the OHIO part right for sure. It poured down rain at 4:00 AM this morning that the sound of it hitting the roof woke me up and then it started blowing sideways and pelted the windows. It didn't last long but it was brutal for a while. Did you get that too?

    1. Just remembered...I wanted to say that there still a number of "antique" stores in Arcanum. And they all occupy what used to be big time stores that folded. Anyway, the antique stores used to sell boxes and baskets of old post cards and photos for next to nothing. Like a dollar a box. The last time I was there they still had some of the same things but you had to ask what the price is. I didn't.

  10. That is absolutely lovely. I love that found it at the thrift shop. Some of my favorite belongings have come from thrift shops or out of the way antique stores. I love the idea of hanging vintage cards on it. I will definitely be copying this idea!

  12. What a great idea, Betsy...
My old Aunt, used to collect postcards as she travelled the world...
And she always kept those little vintage books that tell you all about the history of where you are visiting...I think my sister has those...might be worth something,eh??
The weather is still warm...not as much rain as I thought...actually some clear blue showing thru...

    Enjoy your day...

    Cheers!
    Linda :o)
