After the Christmas decorations came down, I put my little collection of vintage New Year's
postcards on my foyer table, with a few other winter related items.
I got the little wire stand at the thrift store earlier this year
and thought it would be fun to use this way.
I think it's actually meant to hold jewelry.
spring-like weather, I'm wondering if the theme really fits! haha.
It was mid-50's today and all of our beautiful snow is gone.
There are even a few daffodils peeking out of the ground!
But this is Ohio! We will go back to winter soon enough!
In the meantime, I enjoyed having a few windows open today!
♥
that is a very cool way to show the cards betsy....nah i think you are good...though we had spring weather here today...in the 70s....crazy!
ReplyDeleteyeah...we'll have a few more snowball fights before it's all over. :)
DeleteI love really love old vintage post cards look beautiful Betsy:)
ReplyDeleteOh the yesterday post was fun! I will try to order tomorrow my bag!
Today is my mom birthday so we are here today!
Xo
Well, happy birthday to your mom! Tell her I send her love and good wishes! :)
DeleteI said her and she said:thanks you so much Betsy:)
DeleteHere in Michigan it doesn't seem like winter either but I hear we may have ice tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI was admiring your postcard holders. I think they are better for pictures or postcards than jewelry!
Yes, ice will be here soon! Keep the shovel handy and the salt. ha.
DeleteI don't think I'd like my jewelry all out on that tree. ha.
Yeah spring like weather here too
ReplyDeleteSo nice at my zoo
And yeah just fine
Beats showing valentines day crap that isn't divine hahaha
Hate that crap day more than snow
But that you already know
I do have some vintage valentines
Deletethat might show up when it is time
but if it makes you sick to look
then just go read a book.
hahahaha
haha I'll come and make fun
DeleteOf your valentine's run
I'm sure you will!
DeleteWhat a thrill! :)
Oh Much cuter for cards than jewelry. What a clever way to use it. I haven't posted by Valentine pictures yet, as it seems almost sacreligious to be so early..haha. But they do look cute on the top of my desk. Soon! It feels like Ohio here today...Burrrrr.
ReplyDeleteyou must have our cold weather today! Or maybe your definition of cold is different than ours. lol....we did have a lovely day even if it was grey and gloomy...it was mild and the birds were singing like it was April.
DeleteI really like that wire tree! I have a box of vintage postcards that belong to jeff's grandparents, hmmm, now i am wondering where they are......
ReplyDeleteOh, that box would be really fun to look through!
DeleteYou got the OHIO part right for sure. It poured down rain at 4:00 AM this morning that the sound of it hitting the roof woke me up and then it started blowing sideways and pelted the windows. It didn't last long but it was brutal for a while. Did you get that too?
ReplyDeleteJust remembered...I wanted to say that there still a number of "antique" stores in Arcanum. And they all occupy what used to be big time stores that folded. Anyway, the antique stores used to sell boxes and baskets of old post cards and photos for next to nothing. Like a dollar a box. The last time I was there they still had some of the same things but you had to ask what the price is. I didn't.
DeleteIt was 71 here yesterday... then the rains and north wind blew in. It's 33 now. You can never tell. LOL! Your vintage cards are so beautiful... they are almost Valentine-like! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteWow...that is a big jump in temperature! I bet the cold is on it's way here, too!
DeleteYes we are experiencing warmer temps today as well.
ReplyDeleteBut with that comes the heavy rains......
Love that cute card holder!!!
we got quite a bit of rain, too...it made the grass green! ha.
DeleteThat is absolutely lovely. I love that found it at the thrift shop. Some of my favorite belongings have come from thrift shops or out of the way antique stores. I love the idea of hanging vintage cards on it. I will definitely be copying this idea!
ReplyDeletethat kind of shopping is just the best! I love the thrill of the hunt!
DeleteI love vintage! Vintage is good. They don't call me Grumpy Grandpa for no reason... ;)
ReplyDeletehaha...the older we are, the more we love vintage! :)
DeleteWhat a great idea, Betsy...
ReplyDeleteMy old Aunt, used to collect postcards as she travelled the world...
And she always kept those little vintage books that tell you all about the history of where you are visiting...I think my sister has those...might be worth something,eh??
The weather is still warm...not as much rain as I thought...actually some clear blue showing thru...
Enjoy your day...
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Sounds like your aunt was quite the traveler! how fun to have her little travel books! Next time you visit her, take some pictures! :)
DeleteStill have a window open today in the kitchen!
A lovely display, Betsy.
