This weekend, Spencer had the Christmas spirit like I've
never seen before! Maybe it all started when one of my
favorite bloggers sent him and his brothers Mr Conductor Bear
to put in their train-themed bedroom. Spencer just loves to
get packages and he was thrilled with the bear and the
neat train picture that was included in the box.
He really studied the bear and then ran to tape the
picture to his stack of train pages. :) So cute!
Thanks, Wanda for thinking of my boys!
I love your kind, generous spirit! xo
Then for the first time ever, Spencer wanted to help decorate
the tree! He helped me hang ornaments and crystal icicles
last evening. Then today, we did the 2nd day of our
Jacquie Larson advent calendar (see yesterdays post)
and he really enjoyed finding the part where you can
decorate a Christmas tree with your choice of lights,
garland and ornaments. So fun!
Sometimes with autism the 'firsts' for your kids come
much later and when you actually have not only forgotten
but don't expect them to happen. And when they come
along and take you by surprise, it's just the sweetest
thing ever!
♥
How sweet to think of your boys and send that package! I'm glad Spencer is enjoying the Christmas spirit. :)

DeleteFinding blessing in the small things always warms your heart.
ReplyDeleteBetsy, I just love reading your blog. You have a gift of finding the good in everything, and adding beauty. You so often lift my spirits and make me grateful - whether it's a cheeky little bird, the majesty of the moon or a funny, quirky little story. You remind me that love, patience and generosity do exist in abundance, if you look for those qualities. You just seem to me to be one busy little factory spreading them out into the world. I'm really glad some of it comes back to you too. xx
ReplyDeletejenny dear, you have no idea how much I needed to read your comment here today! Thank you so much. I appreciate your blog too and it's lovely photography! And I love that you take the time to come here and read my ramblings! :)
