Monday

inside lights reflecting on the window to outside branches

It's Monday morning and I've sent the crew out to work and to school.
Whew!  I've had a week of concerts, receptions, parties, auctions,
and a flurry of cookie baking.  The trouble with that is that the
normal routines have been so disrupted that I'm left today
with a filthy house and a backlog of laundry.
My mountain of laundry has turned into it's own mountain range! ha.

Before I tackle the chores today, I'm sitting here with a cup of
coffee and relaxing a few minutes.

I can hear....

1.  a clock ticking
2. a parakeet cooing, still snug under the cage blanket
3. the furnace running

So, listen right now and tell me three things you can hear....

  4. A baby breathing, and then a soft little burp (right next to my ear), my son mumbling "7 times 8 is uhhhhhh", two little boys chattering about pretend play. The furnace, dryer, and dishwasher are running but they are being "drowned out". :) You make me miss having birds. We had zebra finches a few years back, but I'm not sure I'm ready for the mess they make.

Maybe our mountain ranges are so large they meet somewhere at the state line. hahaha!

    3. If you notice baby girl clothes mixed in with your boys jeans and t-shirts you'll know that the mountain ranges have merged and become one. hahaha

    2. Spencer and I just did day 10 with the trains. He sat at my desk for a good 20 minutes rearranging his train cars and watching them go. Then he redecorated his Christmas tree and watched the ski lift again. :)

  10. An early post from you
Throwing off the timing of your zoo
Geez a lot has come due
That laundry can be kept by you
    Hmmm the computer running
Some idiots in the hall yapping that I'm shunning
    And Cassie running about
Throwing her toy and giving a shout

    1. Actually, it's late
as I was gone last night. At any rate,
      why aren't you at work?
At home doing the blog lurk?
      Nicer to be there
      than at your work lair!

    2. I'd like to say
I made it big at my bay
And sold a ton of books
      After so many looks
      Then I could stay home
      And quite my work dome
But nope, had a dumb rental at work
So working the night shift which isn't a perk
But at least it isn't flappy and her crew
      Just some class coming due

  11. My laundry mountain is growing as we speak. My son showed up last nite *meetings here in town* with the two granddogs for me to keep whilst they wing their way to the wife's family Christmas later in the week. The pups will be here for 10-days. They are fun and keep us laughing with their antics. I'm allergic and they make me itch but I love them.

    The 3-things I hear?

L&O CI on tv in the background.
    One of the pups snoring.
    The rain.

  12. Dogs claws pattering on the hard floor, local radio news ( 3Counties Radio, which is Beds, Herts and Bucks. UK ) and supper bubbling on the hob ( mince and dumplings, to be eaten with broccoli and carrots) Very cold outside, but not quite freezing.

  13. I can hear three different people typing on library computers. :)

And no more nights out for a while? Good idea. Nights in can be just as much fun... or even more fun!

    1. ok...so people typing on computers....and name two more things, Silver! :) Or have the librarians Shhh'd everyone from making any other noises? ha.

    2. Oh, three different typists doesn't count? Okay, I can juuussst hear something playing in the headphones of the guy sitting at the desk next to me... and some nearby idiot is typing on her cell phone, so I'm hearing all the little beeps cuz she's too dense to shut off the sound!

    3. does 'juuussst' mean 'barely'? lol....

    4. Yes, doll... but my way was more colorful. Ha.

    5. Silver I think you need a little noise in your life--it sounds way too quiet. :)

  14. I can't hear anything much - the upside and the downside of being deaf! It's peaceful though. I do like your photo, the tree branches look to be decorated with little gold coins. It would be nice to have a money tree in the garden at this time of year!

    1. yes, I can see how once in a while not being able to hear could have an advantage. ha. For instance..my dryer has a horrid screech lately and I'd love to be able to tune that out! lol....

gold coins...yes, I love that idea!
