Mrs House Sparrow peaking in to say hello.
Going through my favorite tree tunnel.
Gorgeous in any season!
I cleaned off my desk. Boy, did it need it!
I love my little nook!
And I decided to follow the organizedchristmas.com website. It starts this week and gets you totally ready for Christmas by December 1st.
That includes gifts bought and wrapped, cards sent, and all the goodies in the freezer...oh, and the decorating done. Now I don't do all that they say....for one thing, 2 weeks of my November are devoted to my gift basket business. And I don't decorate for Christmas before December 1st. But I do like to loosely follow their guidelines.
They claim if you devote 15 minutes a day, in 6 weeks your house, family and you will be ready so you can
actually relax and enjoy the entire month of December. I printed off their
6 weekly checklists to use as a guideline, and signed up for a daily email
reminder. Should be fun!
What did you do today?
♥
What georgeous pictures always you have I love tunnel! and the bird is so cute!
ReplyDeleteand about Christmas....you are really organized ha!
I have to make a lot and not all beauty LOL
but I make a post to SRC today:)
well, this is supposed to make you organized for christmas and done early. I hope to be at least half of what they want. ha.
DeleteOH you are my hero Betsy!!
Deletehaha...well, I haven't started yet! But, I think my main goal is to get all the baking done and in the freezer...and the gifts bought and wrapped. Just those things would be so nice to have done early!
DeleteYes you are organized lol
Deletewhat a breathtaking tunnel of beautiful trees! If I breath deep I can almost smell it too!
ReplyDeleteToday I took a long walk, laundry, and watched my sons soccer game, dug around in the flowerbeds and prepared supper and went to the gym. Now I should go bake some cookies. haha
what a wonderful day you had! I've been saying for 2 weeks that I'm going to bake cookies and I still haven't done it! Better wait until the cake is gone. ha.
DeleteThe weather was perfect too! ♥ LOVELY! On the way to the boys' High School the road goes through the woods. I have to have my windows open when I drive through there. The earthy scent is awesome! Can't get enough of it.
Deletehaha...you DO keep talking about the scent of autumn. :) I do love the smell of the leaves! Before all of the city regulations against burning leaves, I loved that smell, too! Reminds me of my childhood. Can you do that where you are?
Deletehaha, I know. I'll quit now :)
DeleteYes we can. Love that smell too :)
lol...no, don't quit! You have to enjoy it while it's here! :)
Deletewell... I actually like the smell through that woods in all the seasons. lol
DeleteYour desk look awesomw Betsy:)
ReplyDelete(I have to share with Ditto LOL)
well, NOW it looks awesome. It was so cluttered before..piles and piles of stuff! You couldn't see the desk! lol.
DeleteThe tunnel is gorgeous! Your desk looks good - I have one that needs attention. :)
ReplyDeleteNow I need to check out that website...
Funny how our desks become piles of junk...mine turns that way very quickly! ha.
DeleteI had a rather chopped up kind of day, but I did manage to change several poopy diapers (from one child), catch a five minute nap, take Hannah up to church, take a few phone calls, bake a batch of muffins, make supper, pick Hannah up from church, and take a 20 minute slow walk on my "back at home" treadmill (It was at Bethany's for 2 years).
ReplyDeleteI love your tree tunnel. There is one like that along the lake in Webster. And, that cat on your desk always has me do a double-take.
You had a nice day, even if it was choppy! :)
DeleteYou know, the real cats around here don't give that thing a second look. Doesn't fool them in the least. lol....
I spent my day with 24 2nd graders! It was all good and then an afternoon with my daughter. I love the tunnel. Fall is superb!
ReplyDeleteEvery time you say 24 2nd graders I feel faint. lol....
DeleteThat is one CLEAN desk! I love that you have windows to look out of. When I sit at my desk, I have a nice view of a wall :-)
ReplyDeleteYou need a big picture of the sky or something there! :)
DeleteOh your fall pics are beautiful! And I love your desk, what a peaceful little retreat, so girly considering your five men! I just found out I'm pregnant with my THIRD BOY! I've been thinking lately that I need to make a girly space just for me too!
ReplyDeleteWell, congratulations! I love boys...how fun to be having a third!
Deleteoh my...seriously ready christmas...i am so behind this year already...i may need all the help i can get...love the picture of your lane...that gold is just gorgeous....
ReplyDeleteyou're behind for christmas? Is that even possible on October 22nd???? hahaha...
DeleteI'm usually scrambling at the week before, so I'm going to try to be a little better this year! :)
B.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l. photographs. Wow. I have been cleaning some too. I'm a closet hoarder--I guess. Everything else looks clean and orderly but don't open the closets. However, I now have three out of five all purged and clean. Yay me.
ReplyDeleteA closet horder...oh, me, too...especially my clothes closet. It's due for a serious going through! Yes, good for you for already getting started! That's great!
DeleteGreat shot of the sparrow...so up close and personal...
ReplyDeleteThe tunnel is glorious...is it just me, or does this Fall really seem more YELLOW than usual???
Fabulous photos of the leaves...
What I did today...
1. Finally did "cut and paste"
2. Finally added some pics to my sidebar
3. Went shopping with my daughter and Vivian..picker her up some cute things at Carter's
4. Went for a walk with my boyfriend, daughter and Vivian..
5. Made pepper steak for dinner..
How's that, Betsy???
Enjoy the rest of your evening...
Cheers!
Linda :o)
There is a ton of yellow this fall! But we have some gorgeous red oaks. I want one for my yard!
DeleteLove to hear about your fun, busy days and dinner sounds delish!
Oh what a wonderful shot of that little sparrow. Can I say again, I love your computer area. So very inviting!
ReplyDeleteToday I picked up meds that came in while in Boise, a trip to Walmart for laundry supplies, and some accent area rugs, more trips to Party Cove for decorations for Don's 75th Birthday next month. Made a batch of cookies, and sent a box to my little grandson Matthew who will be 4 this week. A busy day, but had left over Chicken Casserole so didn't have to fix dinner.
Nice day! Especially the leftovers... haha.
DeleteAwww LOVE the closeup of Mrs Sparrow - what a beauty!!
ReplyDeleteNow that really is some organised list!! Good luck with it!! Take care
x
Isn't she lovely? (cue Stevie...haha)
DeleteLooks like you are having the peak of autumn colors now... ours are starting to fade, though some trees still look good.
ReplyDeleteI have mixed feelings about the Christmas organizer. I say there is something wrong about working on Christmas when it is more than a week before Halloween. Though I'll probably wish I had done more when I'm all frenzied and stressed out in December. :)
Yes, I see your point. I don't even decorate for Christmas during the Thanksgiving weekend or in November at all! ha. I hate overlapping holidays. But this isn't really like that. For instance, this week it is suggested you get your plane tickets if you must travel, make a list of everyone you need a gift for,...things like that.
DeleteGreat shots of the tree tunnel at your sea
ReplyDeleteThat must always be a delight to see for thee
And you have a fake cat there
Why not just play musical cats at your lair
They could each take turns pretending to be a scary halloween decoration posted by the window
They could even watch the sparrow
And I'll have everything done
Here under my sun
In a few weeks or so
But of course I have less to do for xmas then at your show
haha...I got that cat from the auction trash
Deleteit has marble eyes that look this way and that
not just for halloween
it's always on my desk window so clean.
And yes, I remember you are an early bird
getting christmas done so early that it's absurd.
hahaha.
And even frisky Santa too
DeleteHe came plenty early then ended up at your zoo hahaa
haha. I believe a payback is still due
Deletefor that Santa, so lewd.
lol.
Hi Betsy,
ReplyDeleteThose are some beautiful trees that you drive through. Your desk looks very nice now, very organized, and it looks like you have a lot of space to work with. As to decorating for Christmas, I never decorate, so it is a lot easier for me because I do not have to clean up after Christmas. Santa has no need to come to my house, so I have no need to decorate. I put up one or two decorations, that's it, I'm done. And I think one of them is still up from last year. LOL
God bless.
I don't do a lot of decorating either! We do put up a tree and wreath on the front door. I do a centerpiece for the dining room table and some little things on the mantel and foyer table. That's it. But I do have lots of gifts to give...teachers, aides, helpers at church for the boys, neighbors, coworkers, family, friends...etc, etc. ha. And I do enjoy the baking. Giving is the best part, though...and that's how it should be. :) My biggest thing is that I hate the wrapping...so I procrastinate there. I'm really going to try to have everything bought and wrapped early. They will probably look prettier, too, because I won't be running on burn out. lol.....
DeleteGlorious fall photos...you really captured the magic of the season.
ReplyDeleteIt's been wonderful! And I'm afraid we're at the end of the color!
DeleteBeautiful photos, this has been a wonderful fall for colors! Get organized week...sounds like a plan!
ReplyDeleteIt really has...so pretty!
DeleteGreat photos Betsy. We had a 'date' today and went north an hour and saw mostly bare trees. =( There's still lots of beautiful leaves on those trees that make a fun 'tunnel' for you. I love the idea of following the organizedchristmas.com plan...I'm gonna have to check that out. Tomorrow hubs has cataract surgery...another busy day away from home. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletePraying for you guys...hope all goes well!
DeleteI love your little nook too. I would sometimes be hard pressed to get any work done...I would be staring out the window and grabbing my camera all the time. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I do have that problem! The windows make it too tempting to sit and stare...and the bird feeder just makes it worse. haha.
DeleteOh, that's a novel site! Great idea. But, Betsy, will you ever get to really relax w/ 5 men on your hands? :) Anyhitng helps, right?
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS winding road photo there too. Wow. so lovely
