    1. Isn't she lovely? She posed a nice long time, until I said, "Um, Betsy...I think you've taken enough shots of her!" haha. Good thing the window was clean! lol....

    3. haha...well, this side of the kitchen has clean windows. But I noticed the ones at the sink are filthy. lol.... Besides, you have clean walls in one room and I do not!

    5. So, what do you use to wash your walls? You know, I vacuum mine occasionally but don't wash them...well, I spot clean dirty boy handprints, of course. lol....

    6. well I'm pretty tall so the ones in the basement I can reach without anything like a chair/ladder but the ones up here I like to use a wall mop with a removable head. I used to work in housekeeping at a retirement home and that is what we used there. Works like a charm and is also great for ceilings. The handle extends. Sometimes I use it dry as well. It also works great to wax floors. Okay - I love my wall mop! It's a very handy thing! LOL

    7. And it's called a wall mop if I look for one? Great! And do you use plain water or a little soap in it?

    8. It is. I bought mine years ago so I'm not sure how it has changed by now. I use some Pine Sol or Mister Clean for a fresh clean smell. If you can't find one let me know, I'm sure I could find one for you. I bought mine in Ohio. (Holmes County) The Amish stores usually carry them.

  2. Nothing much prettier than a Monarch Butterfly, is there? Soon they will be gone for another season. We didn't find any eggs or caterpillars this year, but I did learn that they like young, tender milkweed. Maybe I'll keep a young and tender patch down toward the blueberry bushes next year.

    1. well, that's a good idea! We had lots of those common cabbage butterflies..the white and yellow ones and a few other kinds, but I think this is the first monarch I've seen this year!

    1. It does! I think it's that sky and bits of cloud..and then because I focused on the butterfly, they are a bit out of focus...naturally, too...that that photoshop kind. ha.

  8. Hello Betsy .. how beautiful! I love butterflies or flutterbies (the name my children decided to call them many, many years ago as children). Years ago I cared for an elderly lady who told me when a butterfly comes to visit you it was the soul of a love one departed. I always thought that this was a lovely belief to have! She was a beautiful woman. Hope you and all you're boys are well. Cheers Kath

  10. Ooh, such a beautiful butterfly and a nice picture for sure. Butterflies are truly beautiful with all the beautiful colors which I am thinking the saying, "Beautiful as a butterfly." comes from. Your windows are really clean.

    God bless.

  12. Beautiful shot! When my boys were in elementary school, around the beginning of the school year we would walk down the road to a patch of milkweed to find the Monarch caterpillars. We'd bring them home and watch them form their cocoons and eventually emerge as gorgeous butterflies. Seeing your lovely photo is bringing back some fond memories!

  14. This is my all time favorite butterfly. I've been trying to capture one all summer but
I haven't been able to. They quickly move on to the next yard and I'm left wasting camera
battery waiting to see if the winds will return them. Luck you!
